Hatch can spawn on second floors in indoor maps now?

So recently I played on the RPD map and the hatch was upstairs but I thought that on indoor maps that have two floors the hatch would only spawn on the bottom floor. Am I just stupid or is it just an exception for RPD?

idk about that cause I've never had it spawn on the second floor on Gideon meat plant or Midwich school.

It's only RPD, it must just be an exception to the rule as well seeing as hatch spawn locations have to be coded in.

So when the Hatch spawns on a higher floor, does the Survivor drop to the lower level and not escape? lol

was there open floor below the hatch?, i know it can sometimes spawn in specific spots on the third floor library if there is no open floor below it

I cant remember exactly where it was as the killer was carrying my friend for a good 10 mins because like everyone else he thought it would be on the bottom floor. All I remember was that it was in a room near the roof part.

Yes, there can be a open floor below.

RPD is the only indoor map I ve seen with hatch spawning upstairs

This is the only map that this will occur on and it's by design, this is not a bug.

In RPD the hatch can spawn even in "third floor", I saw it spawn in the second floor of the library once.

It always spawned on the second floor of the library to me, but still I only played the map 3 or 4 times.

i guess it's by design, same way that basement is from what i played, ground level instead of being under (since the first row of stairs are 2nd floor and the second row therefore in 1rst floor)
