Boon totems?
So what ever happened to them making boon totems? I was kinda excited to have another objective to do other then gens.

Hmm... I wonder how killer only or mains will feel about having to find survivor totems. Anyway assuming they do get implemented, it's going to give killers another objective to complete. Not survivors, that is assuming it's the same as killer totems.

There's only been 1 chapter that's happened since they announced boon totems, just relax, I would think they're coming with either the next survivor or the following survivor.

I imagine they'll implement them with a survivor like they did Hexes with Hag.

They specifically said boon totems will come with another chapter this year. There has only been RE announced since then and that was in the very same stream..

killers are the least people that need another objective.
survivors are the ones that need another objective because gen speeds are too fast

I think when they do come out they will be another objective for the killer (I fear).
I think the gnome event was a test for boom totems. My theory is killers will stomp boom totems like they did the gnome. If that is the case I would be happy. Quick easy cleanse!
As for when, maybe next chapter? So in the fall maybe.

They're going to be a fun addition for survivors to use. Should there be a totem is lit up for a survivor to dismantle, or a totem that grants a benefit as long as it's activated, it would also be worth considering a killer's interraction with it, if indeed there is any! I can't imagine the killer would not be able to destroy them, especially if it's lit up from the get go.

I've always been a totem toucher. Old Ruin was incredibly strong on console, probably due to the ######### optimization. And I really hate being touched once the entire game and losing to a bad killer because of NOED. So these totems won't change anything for me.

No I think they will be for survivors to cleanse. It would be weird to give killers another objective.
Im looking forward to see the effects they will give. Might be haste/stealth for an amount of time. Maybe bonus progression on actions as well. Maybe stacking increase of aura reading range and time.
Maybe we will see some new offerings as well, for example one more or one less totem spawn in the trial. Just like the chest offerings.

I wouldn't hold your breath for information anytime soon. BHVR isn't known for being open with their community. They've been talking about the MMR for years with nothing to show for it, and just recently they never mentioned why the offline bot matches that were supposed to come with the mid chapter update never happened.

That's not true. As a survivor you might have to cleanse a specific totem to get your effect. That seems more likely because how would a killer even interact with totems when they need to chase people and pressure gens? Survivors have chances to hide in foliage and find them.

I wish that when they are implemented, the assassin smashes that totem as he does the Left 4 Dead nome in the event.

I am more curious what happens if every survivor brings boon totem and killer running full hex build.

Well they said a boon totem activates when a survivor is near a dull totem, or else its deactivated, so I doubt the killer will have to destroy it or something.

During the presentation of boon totems it said it activates when a survivor is near a dull totem, if a survivor is near one and has it activated then maybe the killer can destroy it and a survivor could then go to a different totem to activate it.

I suppose that boon totems should be destroyed by the survivors for taking the advantage, I don't want to find totems as killer, not enough time for another objetive aside patrolling generators and hunting survivors.

I've got a feeling that whoever the next survivor is might come with the boon totems and I'm VERY curious to see how they act. I'm just a bit worried that they could be a bit to powerful, I still have nightmares about old MoM. ;_;

Gladly old MoM got nerfed kinda fast. I assume if the boons end up being a little OP they'll nerf accordingly like they did MoM. Hopefully won't get them like MoM though, 3 protection hits my butt.

I’m worried that one of them will be something like, “ be within 10 meters of the boon totem while being chased and if you get hit within the 10 meter radius you gain the endurance status effect.” I agree though, hopefully they’d be able to fix them ASAP but, with the console certification process, who knows.

Certainly, I just hope that they have the same values as hex totems and that you have to earn the rewards in some way. Since I think Devour is one of the best executed hex perks, I hope that’s what they’re taking some inspiration from.

Think it will be hilarious to see posts from survivors complaining that Killers are spawning ontop of their totems and that their totems got destroyed within 20 seconds of the match starting, lol.

I'm GUESSING it's just a perk for cleansing the totems. Instead of breaking them maybe it turns them into Boon totems to make them worth doing when there are no Hexes even? But also add incentive so maybe people will be on them more?

Old ruin was only strong for against new/bad players.
For good survivors it never was a problem and i also NEVER had a problem with old ruin back when i played on my day 1 PS4.
Dont always blame lack of skill on something else.
