Come with me if you want to live
What is the most universal/community accepted way to tell another survivor that I have the key, know where the hatch is, and that they should follow me now so we can escape through it (1-2 gens left, 2-3 survivors alive)? We're not on voice chat or text chat, of course.
Pointing and motioning with 1 & 2 on PC sometimes gets ignored. So sad. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
For those that will say that they are dumb and deserve to die because they should have seen my key in the lobby, I'm talking about keys obtained within the match from a chest.

i usually drop the key and tbag+ use the come emote

It is to put the key on the ground in front of them so they can see. But of course, ######### will steal it. It they don't steal it, pick it up and motion to follow.

Some people drop the key, then pick it back up so the teammate can see it. Often times key size makes it less likely to be seen/noticed.

Wow. Did not know this. And the first 3 of you are in agreement. I will try this. Thanks.

Have fun in the fog you filthy key user, lol

Oh that's easy what you want to do is find the killer and walk up to him and crouch on the spot in an almost tea bagesque fashion, when he puts you on the hook start immediately trying to wriggle free until your 1st state is gone then intentionally miss your 2nd state skill checks until the entity consumes you.
This method will very clearly and accurately inform the rest of your team mates you have a key and you intend to use it.
Good luck gamer.

Filthy AF. xD
Yesterday, while playing killer, 3 people escaped from me with a key right in front of me. Then later, a friend did it as survivor.
Prior to this, I don't think I had ever seen a 3-person key escape as a killer or been a part of a 3-person key escape as survivor.

As a killer, thats always a pain to see. End up in games where the survivors end up 3 genning themselves or something, then I'm looking around for the next 5 minutes unable to find anyone... and then the game ends with a 3 man escape.

If I repeatedly saw 3-person escapes, I might feel more annoyed. But the ballsyness of it yesterday was fun to see. But usually it's only 1-2.
Edit: Fixed typo.

I set it down and pick it back up, maybe do this twice. They’ll realize that if you’re not carrying anything, then you wouldn’t be able to do this, so then you must have a key they didn’t notice. (No need to let them step on it and potentially steal it.)
After picking it back up, you have 2 options:
- Know where the hatch is? Beckon emote so they know to follow you to the hatch.
- Don’t know where the hatch is? Stand there and stare at them for a bit, then slowly move away. This will entice them to stay near you. Make it obvious that you’re looking into the T&L’s and moving on. This gets them to help you search.

Motion them to follow you. That's what this David and Claudette did with me, and I did with this Meg.

I like this adjustment to stay on top of the key. Safer. Less theft.
What's T&L?

Throwing the key on the ground is what I've seen as well. The problem with beckoning someone is that some people beckon you so they can lead you to the killer, so people mistrust that.
My problem is that, when I'm the one who brought a key, I forget that we're trying to use it, and my teammates all run around me trying to get my attention and I'm like, "What's up, bozos -- do a gen." And then we all get killed.

I don't think I've ever seen someone beckon me over to lead me to the killer. What kind teammates are you getting? Lol.
Your key story is legit tho. I lol'd.

That title quote makes me realize how unique a Terminator chapter would be.
Anyway, what I do is dropping it and letting them see it on the ground (hoping they don't pick it up) Then again, if the killer is aware, better them than me to get targeted....

I read the post title as "Come live with me" I had to click on it to find out what this was about

I rarely carry a key and everyone in the lobby sees it, then on departure I go to a discreet place and hide it to later pick it up. 5 games on the brink of death in which I managed to escape and save one.

Love the Terminator franchise! But didn't even think of them in this game until you mentioned it. We still have no robot killers...T-1000 or the Arnold would be cool. And Sarah Connor is awesome.
Good point at having someone else pick up the key and be a target, if that happens.

This is awesome. It's what my friend does. Thanks!
