I just miss the old DBD

Where do I begin….. I started playing Dead By Daylight around mid 2018 and stopped playing right before 2021. I loved this game so much, played non-stop with friends, and as killer, but I don’t play anymore. It’s crazy ro think about a game you absolutely loved and now you barely even touch it. There’s just been so many things that have changed that didn’t need to be changed in my opinion. Remember how Autohaven, Coldwind, Macmillan, basically the OG maps used to look like? Yeah, me too. They were fine graphics and visual wise. Now in these days BHVR just changes things that don’t need to be changed and I don’t know why. Like it’s the old DBD I loved. I wish there was a way as a player you had an opportunity to revert back to some of the things they changed. I personally feel like this game is dying. If not dying, it’s just boring now a days.

TLDR: Dead By Daylight was so much better back in the day but lots of unnecessary changes were mad and my friends that I used to play with also fell out with the game and some can say the game is dying/progressively getting boring.

Dying? Not at all. People can say this all they want-- As long as this game is the only successful one in the genre, it won't be dying anytime soon.

As for missing old DbD. Eh? I miss some aspects, like the old maps, but I also like a lot of the new things they've added as well. I don't think every new thing they add is terrible.

New DBD is way better. Old DBD was super super bad. BNP, pallet vacuum, infinite loops, mlga, op tile setups, infinite NOED, 3 blink and omega blink Nurse and on and on. The game still has balance issues, but it is much more fair now.

Poeple have been saying that the game is dying since 2016....

    lol

And people will always say it. It happens with any remotely popular online multiplayer games, countless claims of "Oh, the game is dying!"

Most of the time, it is untrue.

I mean it’s my opinion. And I know a few other who think so as well. That’s also your opinion.

Okay but those things you just listed were mechanics and features. That’s not what I miss. Like old dbd gave off horror vibes and 2021 DBD just doesn’t feel like a horror game at all. Way to bright and reworked maps look good but old maps is what I and some people miss. But again just my opinion.

I mean it's my opinion that the game isn't dying? Because it isn't. Any look at Steam Charts can easily say that. It's had the most players I think it's ever had. That isn't dying, by definition. We don't know in the case of consoles because they're very protective of their data.

Unless you're talking about Old DbD being better in which case- Yes. That is your opinion and I respect it.

Corporate gains and politics are clearly marking this game for it's demise.

Mark my words: by this time next year is when the company will see substantial losses, due to lack of sales and deteriorating player base.

I don't know, I hated how the old maps looked, Autohaven in particular was disgusting. The only detail that I don't like know is Coldwind being daytime.

I started playing DBD in 2019 and I don't really miss how it used to be. In fact I only started really commiting to this game after the update that got rid of some BS windows and reduced overall map size. The only things I miss are old Autohaven and Coldwind because these both got visual downgraded after the rework imo.

But old Nurse with tons of blinks? Infinite windows and every map being basically The Game? People working on gens in your face with DS + UB? Old instasaw Billy slugging everyone with Infectious at 5 gens? These can stay in the past for what I care.

Some of my favorite killers and survivors like Ghostface, Deathslinger, Oni, Blight, Pyramid Head, Cheryl, Felix and Yui are also fairly recent.

I don't think the game is dying, but I am someone who LOVED how things used to be and recent changes are what made me quit.

People are being absurdly stupid when they say DBD is dying. They try so hard to say it's dying as some sort of validation for their frustration to the game.

No one cares about how much you like old DBD. Stop saying the game is dying just because you're bored. Go play something else. It's that simple

The rose tinted glasses some members have in the his community for "Old DBD" really need to come off.
