Bots better than solo q teammates
I just played solo q and at the end screen can see one of my rando teammates is rank 4 and running ds, hope, deja vu, and blast mine.
What is going on? How? All of them had weird builds like that for red/purple ranks and they played worse than the bots in the tutorial.
This didnt happen when the SBMM was active 😭😭😭

DS is so "bad" now that even hope- and deja vu-users can't stop using it. That's how "weak" this perk is after the "nerf"

Honest to Entity would love to play more bot matches. At least the bots are reliable

nothing, if you can back it up with skill everything fine. But if you suck you should take meta perks to carry the lack of skill.

The bots in the tutorial are made to make you play a good game. Even if they are able to, you will nearly never see the bot trapper snowball the game, and the bot survivors are (most of the time) made to come get you off the hook.
What would you think as a beginner if the bot killer 4-man slug the team or if your bot teammates let you die on first hook. They are programmed to let you experience the game in a rather slow and enjoyable manner for a first timer, while a red rank player want to win/have their own fun and most likely don't care about what you think.

Meta perks will escalate low skilled players to ranks higher than they deserve to be.

DS = still good enough to delay death by tunneling
Hope = not an amazing perk but not a mediocre perk either
Blast Mine = fun perk + better version of Better Together
Déjà Vu = underrated perk especially since as solo, 3 gens ending are super frequent

I don't see anything wrong with not using only meta perks. If they used this build and made it to rank 4 while you only use meta perks, they are certainly a better survivor than you and don't need them to perform great.

actually I also run meme perk sometimes when playing survivor. Usually what's funny is even at red ranks some survivor failed skill checks twice in a row, can't do gen properly and even only last 15s against killer chase

Technically bots are almost always going to be better than the baseline average player. They are literally programmed to act as perfectly as they can, any errors they perform are purposefully coded in. Skill and situational awareness is the only thing that really differentiates a normal human surv from a bot. So some of the blendettes you might see here and there quite literally are worse than bots.

Tfw teammates run perks they find fun or useful that aren't on my small pre-approved list of second chances

Having meta perks won't help them if they actually don't know how to play. Dead Hard, for instance, doesn't help if you don't know where/when to use it.
Same for DS, if you don't know how to run a tile, you only earn a few more seconds.
Having "weird" builds is fine. I sometimes run perkless to make sure I don't rely too much on a perk. That's also a good way to practice.

I always have 1 second chance to extend chase because Im not that good.
Otherwise I like to have fun build most of the time. It still bring me to rank 3,4 which Im not deserved. Beside, if Im able to play a match as its true meaning (no tunnel,camping happens). Im happy to die at the end. Rather than seeing Killer tunnel/camp team mate and I have to hold M1 on Gen for 200sec and escape.

haaa, as if ranks where a good representation of skill in the first place. The skill difference within rank 1 alone was already everything between boosted bot to sweaty no lifer. dont kid yourself there mate.

I would actually like bot teammates on RPD. I'm not gonna stop putting up the badges, but I'd like to play a Bot offering to replace my team with bots if I could.
