Survivors, why do you overreact to Franklin’s Demise?!

Of all perks to complain about, why this one?! I’ll admit the perk can be obnoxious, but killers that get hooks/kills from this perk are all from the exact same reason: the survivors are losing perspective, and allowing themselves to be psyched out.

Losing a;

Toolbox: oh no, you can’t shave a few seconds off of a repair, or sabotage a hook. Can you still engage in repairs, hook saves, healing teammates, and opening exit gates? Yes.

Med Kit: oh no, you’ll be injured. Can you still engage in repairs, hook saves, healing teammates (be healed), and opening exit gates? Yes.

Key: oh no, you actually have to WAIT for the hatch to open. Can you still engage in repairs, hook saves, healing teammates, and opening exit gates? Yes.

Flashlight: oh no, you can’t be obnoxious back. Can you still engage in repairs, hook saves, healing teammates, and opening exit gates? Yes. Unless you’re up against a Hag, losing a torch is not a big deal.

Map: oh no, you can’t cheese coordinating a hatch escape, or cheese the killer out their Hexes. Can you still engage in repairs, hook saves, healing teammates, and opening exit gates? Yes.

None of the available items in this game are essential for a team to complete their objective. They help. They’re not mandatory. They simply help.

Stop allowing yourself to get tilted over Franklin’s. Stop falling into the trap of giving the killer easy hits or downs because you stubbornly keep attempting to retrieve whatever was dropped.

Yeah agreed, it can be a tad annoying if you doing a challenge to fully deplete x item but it just spices the game up IMO nothing to get enraged over

As a survivor main i don't know understand why either. It's not that big of a deal as items are extremely easy to come by.

It's just annoying but that is all. I mean I often use Inner Strength but have many medkits so sometimes I just use medkit instead. Now when you play as solo survivor you often do need to heal yourself once per game so Franklins can really give a "oh no come on!" reaction. But then again you think about the killer using one perkslot just to counter items so..it's still fair.

Franklin’s is stupid because it does NOTHING to keys or toolboxes, as people can just drop their keys, and toolboxes generally are used at the start. It’s annoying to have a perk that only works against items that really aren’t toxic at all.

It is annoying it's an items we bought in bloodweb and that we decided to bring as our help imagine if I could smack killers weapon out of hands? He can't hit survivor right? Same as I can't heal with no medkit because someone else randomly smacked it out of my hand perk is fine but by far it's most obnoxious one in my book at least

Look at this way:item+add on+add on

Price in total:10-20k bp and wasted because killer smacked me randomly

And with current gain 20k bp takes us whole match to earn

I don't mind Franklin's Demise normally, I actually don't see it all that often, but when I have a specific tome challenge to complete that requires me to use items it really irritates me. I don't even bring rare or strong items with me for the challenges yet I can't complete them because I'll get hit and chased for so long that when I go back to my item it's fully depleted.

My annoyance with it is more frustration than anything else. Franklin's Demise just makes item challenges irritating and take way longer than they need to.

I very rarely see it as a survivor, and I only ever use it as killer when I land in a lobby with four flashlights, because those games can be miserable.

Outside of that it seems like a wasted perk slot.

It's simply annoying. Like camping or legion or something.

Yesterday Felix in Ormond was desperate for his event flashlight, but my Franklin’s Demise stopped him with only 2 seconds of chase. I don't really care if the killer wears that perk but I will never understand survivors that he has that special flashlight if it is to wear out anyway.

Those people have been unhealthy obsessed with items for way too long. If they’re bringing in their last event item or something else rare, then they know the risks of doing so. If they want to bully with it, then boo hoo. You don’t need to be in those epic Survivor juke montages with some sick 360s on YouTube. They’re not really that important.

I'll be honest I don't really care about Franklin's, except for when it comes to flashlights.

I don't agree about the being obnoxious back part. Personally if I'm bringing a flashlight into a game it's because I want to go for flashlight saves, rather than sit on gens the whole game. If my flashlight has zero charges then I'm just going to sit on gens which is probably worse for the killer overall.

The other reason is I'm a hoarder in games. I don't like wasting items I care about like flashlights, even though i probably have over 1000 by now.

I just feel so robbed whenever the killer is smacking my item out of my hand. Franklin's is also actually one of the reasons why I really like Self-Care. To prevent all those dirty thieves to steal my Medkits xd

Altho, the current Franklin's is way more tolerable. So that nice

Always liked timing hits for right when a survivor drops a pallet so their item would be trapped underneath it unless I broke the pallet. Can't really do that with current hit detection, but was fun for awhile. Was doing it alot when they announced the instaheal changes and EVERYONE was burning through their stock of em.

Honestly if I see the killer I just quickly put my item down in a spot I'll remember. Getting chased without an item in hand means that's one less perk the Killer can use against me.

Also I tend to run Plunderer's, so losing an item is usually no skin off my nose.

Funniest thing is still how tons of survivors juat pick it up instantly again in front of the killer, just to get the item knocked down again while also going down themselves.

    I don't care about Franklin's, I can just go make a new Flashbang. 🤷

As others have mentioned it can be annoying when you have a challenge to do. But otherwise I see no problems with the perk.

Stop crutching items so hard and that wouldn't be a problem.

Stop stealing my stuff and I won't complain about it anymore.

No man....you don't need the items. Every item in this game can be played with a perk and you can go into a match and be completely itemless yet have all the powers of having an item....the one exception is a key.

You wanna repair fast as if you had a toolbox, theres a perk for that. Wanna heal fast, perks for that. You wanna blind the killer, theres a perk for that. You wanna know where all the hexes and gens are, theres a perk for that.

Losing your mind because your flashlight got knocked out of your hand when you can produce infinite flash grenades with a single perk is wild....

As others have said, it's just annoying losing your item so easily.

Though tbh the OP makes you sound really mad about it too.
