Is an Among Us chapter out of the question
It's popularity has died down & I haven't seen any devs mention it like they have Candyman or F13. Chapter 21 is coming up & it could be another licensed chapter, so maybe there's still some hope.

I mean no offence here

I've seen it, but I like Among Us better. It's in space after all

Is...
Is this like a legitimate question?
I don't-
I can't tell.
9 -
Among us is developing a DBD clone, so most likely not.
4 -
We already have an among us chapter
24 -
How on earth would this work without highly alienating the source material and its fans? Or alternatively, how would it not look massively out of place in DbD?
3 -
If they reduced the size & desaturated the color i think it could work.
5 -
You don’t think the lack of arms, the stiffness of the entire upper body, the single solid colour, the weird proportions, the entire lack of a face or any visible body part beyond the stubby legs, the complete lack of voice, and so forth, looks wildly out of place, regardless of where you put it? It doesn’t even have an actual name. “Crewmate” or “Impostor” aren’t names, they’re nouns.
4 -
Dammit you stole my line
1 -
No.
2 -
That's what I keep saying about FNAF...
2 -
I think the lack of arms, stiff body, singular solid color, bean proportions, & lack of detail adds character. People also said the Trickster looked out of place & alot of killers have nouns for names like nurse, doctor, & oni.
2 -
At the very least, FNaF has characters with a humanoid build.
Among Us’ ??? (which character, exactly?) lacks two entire limbs and an actual face. A goomba has more to it.
5 -
I can't wait for the outcome of this thread. It's very clearly bait.
Only sussy bakas would disagree. Or maybe just impostors.
4 -
So people can make multiple threads about FNAF & be taken seriously, but questioning if among us has a chance is bait?
1 -
The lack of character adds character? Huh.
Trickster is still recognisably human. A very unhinged one, but still a human that can believably hold a weapon.
Yes, they have noun names, but those are nicknames. They also have actual human names. Sally, Herman, Kazan, and so forth. The only exceptions are Demo and Nemesis, the former a poorly understood alien-like creature not unlike an animal, which wouldn’t even know what a name means, and the latter being a man-made construct, having no need of a human name.
3 -
Sotheby's thing is they actually featured an among us chapter art piece before a live stream so...
0 -
They could do human astronaut suits if the bean astronaut suits is the problem. It'll be a licensed chapter so it's not like they need heavy lore. I just don't think a lack of name is a problem.
1 -
But then, is it still Among Us? That’s what I meant with alienating the source material. The name is the smallest issue here.
1 -
Heh, you're funny.
4 -
The only way I'd be okay with an Among Us chapter
4 -
I mean FNAF wouldn't look out of place, its a freaking animatronic which do exist and look like that, Among Us on the other hand have a cartoonish design thats downright impossible to port to DBD
2 -
Among Us chapter would be great. Killer's power makes you have you have to do bunch of extra side stuff to escape. Killer able to teleport through random vents around the map. Killer could sabotage gens survivors were working on or cause maps to turn black except for certain radius around survivor. It would be awesome.
1 -
I mean we do have 4 animatronic murder bunnies in the game already so yea wouldn't feel out of place
0 -
I could see them use the mascot skins on the Legion like with Robbie the Rabbit. But I don't see a Stand alone chapter working, the graphic style is too different and it would see weird with an upgrade to DbD graphics
1 -
Among Us > FNAF every time
3 -
What does Among Us have to offer in comparison to FNaF? A complete and utter lack of surrounding canon, versus a universe with notoriously convoluted lore. A lack of actual characters, only colours, and a vague suggestion of affiliation, versus a whole myriad of admittedly carbon-copies personality-wise, but at least 2 actual villains, to my knowledge.
FNaF may also have long lost its scary factor, but Among Us never intended to have one to begin with.
Which is the better game(s) aside, FNaF would fit DbD infinitely better than Among Us ever will.
3 -
Colors: dbd used to heavily rely on for filters for maps, and at one seeming point, color palates for characters were very helpful and interesting. Its classically intuitive for the crewmate to fit in as a survivor; they can add some fun skins as alts such as a detailed NASA outfit (gold outfit with a shiny silver visor version for auric cells, plain white for iridescent shards) or simply a yellow crewmate with a banana peel for a hat
Lore: like dbd, among us has ambiguous lore that fits into the common dbd narrative; that requires some imagination on the players part...unlike fnaf and it's unimaginative takeaway from Chuck E Cheese or even Disney world animatronics from the 90s. Simply put, among us CAN fit in plain and nicely whereas FNAF would require alot more extensive insight that I feel many dbd players could not frame without effort or an irrational excuse
Carbon copies: have you forgotten how many palate swaps are found in this game? Not only do we have the standard Hag, but we have nearly every color of the alphabet Hag found on the store
Sorry but not sorry, you're mistaken and Among Us will always be the superior and sensible choice over FNAF.
1 -
Youre trying too hard mate.
1 -
That's what I keep saying about trying to insert FNAF...
3 -
They created new lore for Ghostface, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to do one for Among Us.
1 -
Bright red, Blue if you buy it through your platform.
1 -
I mean... Ghostfase is a least a realistic human, and the reason was largely copyright and they could only use the mask.
The Impostors/Crewmates are 2D cartoonish characters that are extremely far from looking realistic
1 -
Ash fixes generators with a puppet hand. I'm sure the Devs can make it work.
1 -
No, they cannot, it simply wouldnt work without drastically changing the source material, which at that point its not even the same thing anymore.
Among Us simply doesnt work in DBD, and theres no way to make it work outside of being cosmetic charms.
0 -
There's really not much changing the source material. There's survivors and killer, it could definitely work. You just don't want it to work.
1 -
Again, freaking 2D Cartoonish characters that dont even look humanoid.
0 -
Highly subjective statement regarding the crewmates.
1 -
Still trying too hard
0 -
So if they were cartoonish and 3D like FNAF or the Legion bunny suits you'd be fine with it? Problem is 2D cartoons so does that mean no Scooby Doo even though many would love atleast a Scooby Doo cosmetic set? Seems bit silly.
0 -
Bro everyone's told you that FNAF is unlikely to work and you simply don't want Among Us to work, despite how intuitive and easy it would be to plug in.
Have a great day.
1 -
They can probably make near anything work. I will say however Fnaf is much more likely than among us
0 -
Sigh... Scooby Doo would work (Besides the dog obviously) you know why? cause they at least look like regular humans, hell look at the live actions which btw had the perfect actor for Shaggy.
Among Us characters dont even look human and even if they were 3D they would still not work, their design doesnt work in DBD.
Also the bunny cosmetic is a mascot costume wore by a person, funny enough thats kinda what Springtrap is, an hybrid animatronic that can be worse has a suit, with a 90% chance of killing you.
No, youre not talking for everyone.
0 -
They could do a charm but I don't see a chapter.
2 -
I'm sure if a license agreement happened Among Us would let BHVR make the characters look more human while keeping the tone (see pic someone else posted of realistic fan art). You just don't want them to add an Among Us chapter so you're focusing on something that could easily be adjusted to have it in DBD as a reason to not have it as a license.
1 -
I'm sorry, but you seem to have greatly misunderstood what I meant. That may be my fault, I struggle to express myself sometimes.
The colour thing was referring to the only thing in Among Us that distinguishes players from one another is their colour and hat. There is no personality, no emotion, no details, nothing. That isn't remotely like how DbD uses its Auras, which are the colours you refer to. Those aren't palette swaps. Smash Bros. uses palette swaps. There are palette swaps in the store, sure, but those aren't exactly your only choice, are they?
It makes the most sense for the "Crewmate" to be a survivor, yes, but they would greatly stand out. There's not a single given name for any crewmate. They don't even look remotely human. Dress 'em up in a spacesuit and adding a really stupid hat would just be, well, stupid.
Is insight into the source material that important? I don't know jack about the majority of the licenses already in the game. They're still cool inclusions, and from what I can gather, their add-ons have lots of cool easter eggs and callbacks to their media. What can you possibly reference within Among Us? Henry Stickmin? Not much to go off of, is it now?
How is FNaF unimaginative? It plays on the uncanny valley effect. Never been done before, hardly. But unimaginative?
Irrational excuse? The Entity is known to take the scum of the earth. Mass murderers, deeply corrupted minds, literal beasts. How does Springtrap not fall under that? And how does a character that goes "haha tongue/gun/knife go brrr" and nothing more fit? There is no given reason behind why the Impostors do what they do. The fact alone that you need to think up a fanfiction to even determine that makes them a much harder fit lore-wise.
As for the carbon copy thing, you wildly, and I mean wildly misinterpreted what I meant with that. I was just arguing that the main 4 FNaF characters haven't got much going for them personality-wise. Therefore, personality-wise, they are virtually carbon copies.
0 -
Would that even be Among Us anymore? thats the problem, the style of AU would be lost.
Best they can do is has charms or maybe a head cosmetic at best, but a full character just wouldnt work.
0 -
I'm hoping one day they decide to figure out a way to make Jaws work. 😂
1 -
"There is no personality, no emotion, no details, nothing. "
You are an uncouth philistine to suggest that this. By disregarding the banana for a hat, I can easily surmise your souless nature.
May God save you and farewell.
1 -
Again, I'm sure the art department would figure out a way to have them be more human while keeping the tone of Among Us. They could definitely make Among Us work in DBD.
