Time To Retire Map Offerings

Seriously, we have a ton of maps in the game but the only offering that get used are Haddonfield, Coldwind, & Ormond. It gets boring and repetitive. It's time to retire these offerings and free up some space in the bloodweb.

And then there are people like me who like to drop MacMillan or Azarov, fair maps. And the occasional Midwich because it's my favourite map.

Mhnn... how about instead of retiring map offerings, add in 'anti-map' offerings like burn them if you don't wanna go to X to have it lower the chances

Why dont you use Map Offerings then, which are different from those you mentioned?

Nothing wrong with burning a MacMillan or Autohaven, just to have a decent Map.

Personally I prefer the randomness of it. Just pick your survivor/killer and your build and let fate handle the rest.

Eventhough Map offering should not be a thing. But without it, Scratch mark Shape is no more enjoyable.

Blatantly false. When you use words like "only" or "all" you lose me - because you are being hyperbolic.

I see a lot of Midwich and Hawkin's offerings being used - more than Coldwind and Ormond especially.

You have the ability to bring other map offerings or even negate map offerings so I am not sure what your complaint is truly about.

We should at least be able to opt if we want map offerings to appear in the bloodweb or not. I'd like to get extra items on my boi Quentin, rather than another Lery's or Swamp offering which costs 5k points!

That, or they should at least bring back the old style of map offerings, make them brown so they're only 3k points, and there's only a slight increased chance of going to that map. So then if you see a dreaded Haddonfield offering there's a chance you won't go to it, and you can have a mini celebration when their offering doesn't work.

If needs be, and if you have enough, use sacrificial wards every game. When the RPD offering was re-enabled, I used one every match for the first few days of it being re-enabled, it worked a treat. There's something quite satisfying about bringing a sacrificial ward and getting unexpected value out of it.

This would be a reasonable expectation if Sacraficial Wards weren't the same rarity as map offerings, the odds of actually getting one are 23 to 1 for survivor and 21 to 1 for killer.

If certain maps bother someone sooo much - they have just as many map offerings appear in their web as others - use them. Instead of complaining that you get sent to X Y Z maps - use those offerings in your inventory. Everyone has the ability to affect where the match happens, but people would rather make hyperbolic claims on the forums instead of actually doing anything in game about it.

Bloodweb pollution. I'd much prefer more streamers, lime flashlights, green medkits, green killer addons, yes to all of that plz

They're just not healthy for the game either. Haddonfield (etc) offerings are often put on for the same reason as old moris were - a massive middle finger to the other side before the match has even started (much more popular during events too aren't they?)

It would pretty much kill off things like scratched mirror which is a shame but the benefits easily outweigh the downsides.

Of course you know what would even be even better? Making all maps balanced and fun for both sides. But that's not happening so cast the map offerings into the pits of hell as the next best thing.

Oh no! Not a little hyperbole! However will anyone grasp the intention of my post?!

Seriously though, you're too eager to dismiss the whole point of my post. Certain map offerings are played far more than others and it makes the game boring. Having to play a counter map offering or a sacrificial ward every time prevents players from being able to use any of the other offerings that are also clogging up the bloodweb. I'd rather use a blood point offerings rather than a defensive map offering, and I think most people would agree.

If I can't use my Mary's Letters and RPD Badges I would be quite sad.

I suppose overall it'd be for the best.

Exactly, it's not like you can choose when to get sacrificial wards, or maps that you like, or have any indication that any offering is going to be used. I guess on every killer we play we have to grind even harder until we have enough sacrificial wards and macmillan offerings to play one per match (who needs bloodpoint offerings anyway?)

Then when we're out of those we can start burning haddonfield offerings so we don't get sent to RCPD. Then when an even worse map comes out the RCPD offerings will come into play. Now this...this is gaming. This is the stuff right here.

Although no wait no one will do this because it's a completely deranged idea and when I've waited 10 minutes for a survivor game in the evening and my teammate sticks on a strode key the killer will use the more traditional + reliable alt+f4. And I can't even blame them honestly.

nope. I was talking about specific maps. The ward was maybe an attempt at that, but at the end of the day it's more a wasted slot than anything. I was rather thinking about offerings that lower the chances to go to a specific map (pool), like... if you don't wanna go to Coldwind at all, bring this offering. If you are fed up of Hawkins, bring this other offering.

so that even if no one else brought any map offering, the chances for map X would be lowered.

    No thanks to that.

Map offerings are neccessary for certaint builds like wallhack Myers. On top of that, RPD exists.
