Devs plz stop selling the old rifts cosmetics
dbd is the only game which sell the battle pass cosmetics
whts the point
the legacy is exclusive
the rift should be too
whts the point of being OG in dbd if u reused old refts items n sell it to new players
at least recolor it if you have no new ideas
its sad we gamers care about this stuff

I'm going to guess you weren't paying attention when the Rift was first announced.

It's a common tactic among video games. Place something in your face, makes you grind your heart out for it, then 3 months later they put it in the shop so they can get more money.
4 -
Tbh they should simply sell recolors from the Rift in the shop. Recolor rift outfits and sell them in the shop so people who missed it still get a version of it and people who grinded for it get an exclusive version.

I wana be special!
I can't stand when people want fomo items so they can fill some weird void within themselves. These items create black markets like they did back when the streamer cosmetics came out and people were selling the codes for hundreds of dollars on ebay.

Yeah, I agree that Rift cosmetics should be forever exclusives, or at least some of the skins should be forever exclusives. Afaik only the (mostly ugly and recolors anyway) Charms are forever exclusives. The wording doesn't say every item will return, only that some may after so many months have passed. So they could start limiting certain items but doubtful.
@kate_best_girl that's a good idea but probably not, so they can sell those too, lol

"dbd is the only game which sell the battle pass cosmetics"
That sounds like a problem with every other game (or maybe battle passes in general).

As someone who's grinded out all the rifts, I couldn't care less if they're placed into the store at a later date for those who would rather not play the game to ridiculous lengths.

They flatout said that when they first announced the rift that, rift cosmetics are a timed exclusives and will be buyable in the shop eventually.

- Rift Pass is $10 for everything, when they're sold a year later, they're each sold separately at full price
- As mentioned above, for a full year or more, you get to have them be "exclusive"
- There's a lot of individual recolor items from the Rifts that may never see the light of day again, just based on how slow they're trickling the outfits. (and Charms, but that's the less important factor)
5 -
I don't play a lot of games with battle passes, but I play a little Smite.
Smites battle pass skins come out later as buyable.
So no DBD is not the "only" game.
Regardless they said when they announced the rift the skins would come to the shop later. Your exclusives so far are the charms. Even on that afaik they never said the charms were going to stay that way forever.

Nah, I think it's great to have outfits available to all players. I think having a few exclusives is fine, but we've gotten a lot of great cosmetics from the Rift.
Besides, you still have exclusive charms from the Rift, and I'd also like to point out the fact that we just had another Anniversary event that gave out more exclusive, one-time cosmetics. (As, the crowns change every year.)
There's plenty of ways to show off you're an older player outside of Rift Cosmetics- and considering how bad the Rift Grind can be, it's good for them to bring the skins back for people who couldn't dedicate so much time into DBD for virtual skins.

Listen, I missed out on one of the previous tomes and I didn't get that sexy Yui hair.
I NEED THAT HAIR 😪

The devs have constantly stated that they don't believe in exclusivity and that there's a chance everything will be obtainable at some point in the future.
Except Legacy, for some reason that's the thing that they can be hypocrites with
0 -
See i push this because it makes you feel like it's exclusive to be released later...

There's a considerable difference in how difficult it was to obtain legacy compared to every other "exclusive" cosmetic. The exception to this would maybe be event attendance exclusives such as the golden Feng but these were being sold at abusive prices so it's understandable why they gave them away, there's just no reason for legacy to be made available for people who weren't there or didn't put in the effort to grind and get it.
4 -
Devs don't do this.
0 -
They said it since the first rift that cosmetics could end up in the regular store.
Nobody forces you to do the rift or buy the cosmetics, if you don't like the idea of them not being exclusive.
This is literally a nonissue.
5 -
It was said from the beginning that those will be in the Shop eventually.
Also, they cannot really be compared to Legacy, the grind to get a Character prestiged back then was higher than the grind to complete a Rift - especially since it got way easier a few months ago. And there is not really any reason why players should be excluded from Rift Cosmetics, just because they started at a later point. It is not like those Cosmetics are anything special (when it comes to rarity).
And, last but not least, if you grind the Rift you get them way cheaper compared to someone who buys them. If you want multiple Outfits of a Rift, you get them for 10 Euros - or for free, if you use the Auric Cells you got back on a future Rift.

Why does something need to be exclusive of course there's legacy and that obviously should be an exclusive but I've never understood the obession of owning a video game cosmetic like that
0 -
Your point for playing a game is to own exclusive cosmetic?
I'm glad I play because I like the gameplay. It'd be sad to play only to look at my cosmetic collection that no one cares about but me.
2 -
They selling outfits that was released as complete set in rift. Cosmetics that released as 1 piece probably remain exclusive. But it's just a recolors though.

I'm OG and I disagree with this completely. Nothing should be exclusive in a game at all. If everyone does a similar grind, pays money etc then rewards should be given to everyone and anyone. It's just cosmetics
6 -
It was brought up in another thread:
instead of putting the old rift cosmetics into the shope they should just make an expanded riftpass that allows to unlock old rifts. like 10 bucks for the current pass, 20 bucks for the current rift and a selected old one.
0 -
You can get multiple rift outfits with a payment of 10 dollars that you get back!!, Buying the outfits by themselves when the rerelease is about 5-10 bucks each.. I think it's fine I don't know why you care that people can get outfits that they missed.
1 -
I enjoy bying those cosmetic for shards.
Imagine paying cash.

Useless thread

I think the Rift grind is too intense, but, as others have said, I do think it's pretty fair that you can either grind to get the whole Rift for free OR wait 6-12 months to get the one cosmetic you want from the store. It gives people options about how they want to engage, which is a good thing.

It would be nice if they were exclusive but it's not that serious. I don't mind cosmetics I worked hard for appearing in the store at a later date for other people to get.
0 -
Oh this again....
I have no problem with outfits from previous Rifts being in the store and I say this as someone who has completed every rift.
1 -
Oh wow... Megthomas_ has this amazing outfit from the rift a year ago! I haven't seen it on anyone else! I will run around her just so that I can see it from every angle. To bad I am not doing a video recording, but at least I will make some screenshots! You are so special an I envy you so much!
Hope this helps...

Bruhhh
I've completed all rifts aside from the first one (I didn't start playing the game until it was halfway through and I had no idea there even was a rift LMAO) and I seriously could NOT care less about other people being able to buy the outfits I grinded for. I got it for cheap, they didn't. I'm happy for my friends when they get to buy an outfit they missed out on.

The rift grind is way better than it was months ago, I think it's really manageable rn, I can play without binging to get it done rn

whts the point of being OG in dbd if u reused old refts items n sell it to new players
the point is that you paid 10$ (considering you bought the premium pass, otherwise its fewer, therefore free skins for you) for around 5 skin sets, while the new players who want to obtain these cosmetics have to pay 10$ for each skin individually.
as its been pointed out above already, the Devs never had any intentions on making exclusive cosmetics.
It was stated from the very start that every rift skin would make an appearance in the store at least half a year after it had first been introduced in the rift.
the only exclusive cosmetics in this game are content creator / develpoer exclusive items (e.g. Neas Crew Shirt for Devs - generally items with the "Artifact" rarity) and legacy skins.
