Why is the Legion so popular?
I see them in the most amount of fan art & cosplays. And whenever I see people talk about playing killer there's a 1 in 4 chance they're a Legion main. Lastly, look at this
these are the hashtags people use on tiktok & they have more views than the mascot of the game AND two of the most played killers. They're okay, but I don't understand their popularity.

Toss a mask and a sweater on and you're doing Legion cosplay or art. Pretty easy to understand why they're popular when they're the easiest things to both cosplay and draw.

I'm mostly surprised because imo they're the lamest killer compared to everyone else, but I under estimated the power of teen angst.

They have a generally appealing design and addicting gameplay loop. people love being fast and love the dopamine rush of getting consecutive stabs. They are not a well designed killer in any aspect of balance, as they are genuinely quite bad, but in a FUN aspect? Its generally pretty agreed upon they are quite fun to play. Plus they get some really good cosmetics, they're fun characters. Its easy to like them

Cosplay: Legion is one of the easiest killers to cosplay. Their outfits are modern, requiring very little work outside of just needing a jacket or hoodie. At the same time, they have an aesthetic that many like.
Fan Art: Easy to make since they're normal humans while eating masks so you don't need to worry too much about facial proportions/features. And if they look rough, hey, it might even fit with the aesthetic they have enough, again, people like. Plus, 4 people each with their own fans.
Gameplay: Legion is a pretty basic killer. They're not very complicated to learn, some good synergy with perks, and they're pretty consistent since their power isn't particularly map dependent. Plus, a lot of people find vaulting pallets and going on mass chains to be appealing cuz it's fun to do. It's fun to see how big a chain you can make, while also having a brief moment of pretty much being immune to pallets.
Notoriety: Everyone knows Legion. They're remember quite fondly as the killer that broke the game and caused mass DCs. Love them or hate them, Legion has left quite the legacy thanks to his release... and a ton of requests for buffs.

I can give you my perspective from the gameplay side, as I don't really care about lore other than actual horror franchises I am a fan of.
- Bloodpoints - Legion is probably the single best bloodpoint farmer in the game. It is insanely easy to cap all of the categories with them, the only exception being the sacrifice category.
- Ease of use - Legion could not be any more simpler for a beginner. Basic M1 killer, use their power and move at super speed, gain the ability to vault faster than a survivor, inflict a wound that forces survivors to waste time, and gives you the ability to track survivors. While Legion is not as effective at downing as other killers, they are amazing at picking up and learning to apply pressure across the entire map.

They're pretty damn creative characters on BHVR's part. Well, power-wise is quite controversial, sadly.
They are kinda fun to play as, they have a variety of perk synergy, and they're 4 characters bundled into one.
My favorite is personally Julie, I love her lore and background, shame that she and Joey are overshadowed by Frank and Susie though.

They were busted at one point in time, they have some really fun cosmetics. And their power feeds my adhd bouncing from person to person, I also think it's fun to see how many times I can get deep wounds on the entire team in a single power use because they keep mending and I keep hitting them.

They are pretty fun to play as imo. There's something special about stabbing people 28 times, and outplaying with just basic M1 gameplay is satisfying.
They are also a very good killer on the 1v4. I never feel "genrushed" when playing as Legion because I can always keep track of the entire team via Killer Instinct, and with this same ability it's also easy to abuse of weak links because they'll never be able to hide from them.
And as people said above, who doesn't love edgy teens?
Edit: there's also the build variety. With some killers I always feel locked on a lot of perks, but with Legion for some reason it's quite easy to experiment with new builds.

In my opinion, I think it's because they are the most relatable. When I say relatable I mean because they are not a floating nurse , a zombie cowboy, or a conjoined twin. They are regular people and 100% plausible.

4) Cosmetics. Legion is the only Killer that can change their "character" through cosmetics. Makes them unique.
