Crossplay on or off?
Do you play with it on or off? Lately I prefer to play with it off simply because playing on the PS5 with other PlayStation players usually gives me a much more adequate matchmaking experience. Going up against other players that are playing off of a controller just like me tends to work in my favor.

I turn it off when I feel like chatting with people. It's kinda lonely not being able to talk about the match.

Provided you play It against decent people. The first "F*** you, just #########" comment that I ever saw made me disable comments entirely and I have no desire to turn it back on.

i'd keep it off if lobby times weren't hell

Lol that's fair, some people are toxic. But I've met a lot of cool people just by chatting. And the banter is genuinely hilarious sometimes.

as if there was anything nice going on ;)
its either "gg" or "salt"

I like fast queue times so I have it on

God if that ain't the truth. If I'm playing killer then it's not so bad, but solo survivor? I might as well break out the War and Peace novel while I wait.

I do acknowledge that there are far more good natured players out there than bad ones, but all it takes is one bad seed to ruin it for everyone else.

I play with it on. I have a lot fewer matches if I kept it off. (I play on steam.)

Generally off with killer because switch reaction times are horrendous and on with survivor because I was gonna die anyways so might as well do it with faster queue times.

I have it on. Only benefit outside of que times is the lack of salty messages people can send.

I dont know on what platform you play but for me my queue are instant with crossplay off on pc.

I like keeping it on because I like fast matches. I do feel like console players are weaker than PC players but I've been surprised sometimes.

I'd turn it off more often if I wasn't facing the same Killer over and over, and if my teammates weren't the same over and over.
It seems like only four people are playing each time I turn it off. Not fun to be always against the same 15k hours Nurse. I swear, it's often her when I turn it off.

Same, I play with crossplay off, but are there enough PS5 players already to have crossplay off on PS5 version?
I tried the next gen version back when I got my PS5 in April but only got a match against a group that was really terrible. Looking for another match, I had the same guys in my lobby. Dodged and searched for match again, same group. Waited ten minutes and searched again, same group. Installed the PS4 version again after that and that's what I'm still playing on now, plenty of players there and queues are fast for me as long as I play survivor during daytime and killer at night.

Off. Right now, console lags when Dead Hard and other things happen, whereas PC gets none of that. If I'm suffering from a disadvantage, my opponents better be too.

Whatever gets me into a trial faster.

If they would let people on the same platform that have it on still be in the potential player pool I would keep it off. Also if they would actually combine window store with steam without having crossplay on considering they are just different stores on PCs.

That would effectively nullify their decision to have it on, since you can't be matched with people outside your platform. It'd make no sense to do that.
Also if they would actually combine window store with steam without having crossplay on considering they are just different stores on PCs.
That'd make sense, yes. It's not like an XBOX and a PS4, which actually are different platforms.

I play with it on, but have considered playing with it off, in case it helps with the current fps issue. I'll give that a try a bit later.

How does it make no sense to have it by simply having PC only lobbies as a option for those who are on the same platform. They can be fit in either a PC lobby or a crossplay lobby. Having it on or off should only be determining the filter for you and your party.

Because if people who have it off are matched with people who have it on, there's a conflict that can only be solved in one of two ways:
- The choice of the people who have it on is ignored and they can't be matched with anyone on other platforms
- The choice of the people who have it off is ignored and they can be matched with anyone on other platforms
Either way, someone gets the short end of the stick. I don't see why your decision to have crossplay off should be imposed on me.

It is not being imposed you just aren't reading what I'm saying.
- They can join crossplay lobbies, they aren't having their filter limited. If you are solo queue with matchmaking on you would be put anywhere you fit. PC lobbies, crossplay lobbies. If you genuinely don't want to ever go into a PC lobby that makes me think its more the fact that you don't want to play harder players or ones that have a text chat.
- The choice of the people having it off isn't being ignored. It is giving them more people -on their platform- in their potential queue. A mixed SWF lobby would never be put against a crossplay off killer. Mixed lobbies would only be able to go to crossplay on lobbies for obvious reasons. a solo queue player with crossplay on would just be able to go into game. Crossplay off solo queue will only go on their platform still.
It's not a square wheel.

These days I have it off as killer and on as survivor.

Crossplay off. On my performance felt so much worse. Also with it off my waits are short and I get better teammates.
