To name one positive thing that has happened to dbd this year. I dont care about how many things you hate or dont like. The world is in a darkspace right now and its often good for the artists and dev team to hear about what they are doing right. Itll inspire them to listen more and hopefully expedite fixes in a way thats healthy for the game. You see I used to work in film and too often after your movie comes out you start to read the reviews and even sometimes the fan forums to see what the concensus is on your masterpiece or PoS. Negative issues only hamper your next project as more or less you try to play it safer if your previous work was not liked as well as your producers not letting you do certain things due to the cost vs risk scenario. I am no game developer so I do not know the ins and outs of every little thing going on in a game but i do know this much and that is your entire objective is to entertain your audience as much as possible as well as letting word of mouth be your truely main piece of advertisement. Its not always the case but it is more then you sometimes like so let us let Behavior and others know what it is that we are liking right now about the game also no repeats unique answers only. I hope to read a long list tommorow thanks and goodbye.

The release of Trickster has been the most positive thing to happen to me this year in DBD! Not only did I find a killer that I consistently have fun with even when I lose but I've met tons of the sweetest people in the community because of him :)

He's also a blast to draw (art is my career) and I'm in the process of making a full cosplay of him for my local convention in November — but I'm hoping to get it done within a month or two to take photos in!

Yeah, trickster is a great killer! Also, RPD is the best map in the game so far, I hope they will make more maps like this. New character faces are pretty and cute, I'd like to see them rework all the other characters too.

After years of being ignored (despite having 2 of the best perks in the game), Bill finally got another outfit. He also came with a lot of cool charms, with my 3 favorites being

The new trickster is fun and I'm glad it happened, I didn't get along very well with him at first, but I'm definitely cut out to be a Main of him.

Jake finally having his own tome, his cute figurine charm, and other charms unique to him. I’ve been waiting so long for this.

Although, once I complete the rift, I’m taking a long, much needed break from DBD.

Only one? The new Survivor models. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I like them.

Well honestly I've felt more and more disappointed and the biggest example was the 5th Anniversary. Ultimately the Resident Evil chapter is cool and I'm a big fanboy but would an anniversary ultimately have decided if that was added or not?

To me I feel big landmark updates for the game is when we receive quality of life changes that make players happy especially us players who have been here a long time. Personally I've been here since 2016 and I'm genuinely disappointed and somewhat frustrated we don't have some things that's been asked for since essentially the start. We've just now received colorblind support and it felt like that only happened because the massive backlash BHVR received for a developer response.

    Here are some examples

    • More objectives
    • The ability to save multiple loadouts per character
    • The ability to vote for a rematch post game
    • Improved custom games
    • Less RNG on bloodwebs
    • Potentially new gamemodes
    • Proper rank rewards
    • More stuff to unlock progression wise
    • Customize the lobby screen locally with previously existing assets and music
    • Custom banners for post game stats

There's a lot of stuff BHVR could have added even if very small and honestly the 5th anniversary felt underwhelming and I've felt this way with each chapter the past two years since Spirit (Funny coincidence I hate Spirit but not relevant). It feels like this game is stagnating on improvements as they slowly release. The updated maps are cool but ultimately they don't really add anything to the game aside from a coat of paint. They're appreciated but I want efforts on stuff we've asked for BHVR to add for years such as multiple loadouts.

Also don't misunderstand - BHVR clearly has worked on and improved upon the game in many aspects. It just feels the rate at which they do it makes each chapter feel less and less special the more I play the game. I know others have the same feelings just probably to a lesser extent. For example when Trickster released no one remembers it for Trickster they remember it as the update that buffed Wraith out of garbage tier. That's how badly everyone wants quality of life changes for existing features if a change is big enough it will easily overshadow the chapter. The Wraith changes weren't even that big and it overshadowed Trickster.

Dude reading a wall of text is not pleasant thing to do, you need to concentrate and focus a lot harder than you would otherwise, a couple of paragraphs makes the text flow and easier to read.

    TLDR: paragraphs are cool Bruh

The addition of a.i alone makes this year so much better. It opens up so many possibilities for the future like the legion rework we all want.

The introduction of the Twins. Yea, I hate their play style but it is so satisfying to kick the little gremlin.

New character models. This is all a matter of opinion, but I like them all except David’s face. Claudettes old model had a pose that made her kind of look like a toddler trying to find balance. It is still kind of there with the new model, just not as obvious as the old one.

Decisive Strike nerf. This was needed for a long time and I am happy the Devs made the right decision with it.

Freddy Nerf. He wasn’t gutted, but the nerf caused made him less frequent to face, which was nice since most players who played him were lazy tunnelers. Unfortunately, they moved on to Wraith.

The Wraith buff. Should have been done a long time ago. Now all that’s needed is for them to delete his wall hack add-on and replace it with something new but not useless.

OoO nerf. Swf abused the hell of of this perk, now killers don’t have to suffer as much as they used to.

The introduction of Leon. He’s just missing a shirtless cosmetic.

Quentin is no longer Gollum. I know this goes under an earlier point, but I feel that it’s worth mentioning.

    Bill got a new cosmetic.

Nemesis Zombies or the fact that we got AI in the game at all +1

Pig got her own special little holiday +1

The fact that we got Nemesis at all +1

As an aside though, in the business of entertaining and cooking, I take what Gordon Ramsay said a long time ago to heart and how he runs his kitchen.

He doesn't care about what they did right. What made him a Michelin star chef is focusing on what people thought was wrong, and improving your work from there. That attitude gave him the constant drive, to improve, and perfect until he's become what he is today, with restaurants around the world, and a name in cooking thats instantly recognizable but not so high and mighty that what he creates can't be done by people who admire his work. Accessible, simple, but highly perfected.

Does Blight count? He was released in 2020 but late in the year so its been less than 365 days since he showed up.

Ormond rework was 8 months ago so I'm counting it. New Ormond is just so much better than it was.

    OoO and DS changes.

Numerous new perks that I'm still itching to try out. Oppression is legitimately my favorite perk now.

Zombie Boi's. Nemesis isn't always my cup of tea, but the addition of those Zombies is low key exciting for the future.
