trickster nerfed again?
"Fixed an issue that caused the Trickster to be able to land multiple hits with one knife when using the Cut Thru U Single and Edge of Revival Album add-ons together. Now each knife can apply at most one hit to each survivor."
So they "fixed" this issue but this entire time I thought this was a feature with these 2 add-ons together so now I'm being told it's not a feature?
if it was a bug I understand but this doesn't seem like a bug but a legit feature that got nerfed.
It would go through the survivor, deal explosion damage for 150% but now it only deals 100%?

These two add ons are still very strong together they just aren't stupid bullshit now. This combo is still strong just not dumb busted now. Unintentional means it was a bug, changed because to strong is a nerf, this was the former.
16 -
The Trickster's performance is still lower than we want him after the 5.1.0 release, so we decided to add a bit of power in a few places.
11 -
6 Knives is already quite fast to injure someone.
4 Knives is a little bit too much, even a very biased person should see that.
28 -
As a biased Trickster main I agree. 4 knives to take a health state with add ons that encouraged bad aim with him was too much. To the point where I wouldn't really suggest people using the add ons because it rewarded playing him incorrectly.
13 -
They never intended having strong killers?
I agree!
5 -
Bruh.
18 -
Honestly it was on the same level as Omega Nurse.
It wasn't healthy for the game.
4 -
Full phrases, please.
When was the last time, the devs released a strong killer?
3 -
It was a blatantly unfair add on combo good riddance
3 -
Erm, not that long ago. The last four killer releases were Nemesis, Trickster, Twins and Blight. Even if you think Nemesis is bad, Twins and Blight are both strong, heck Blight is one of the highest tier killers in the game.
6 -
Blight was released 1 year ago. A full year since they haven´t released a strong killer.
And please don´t treat Twins like they are strong. I haven´t seen Twins in the last 3 or 4 months. If they were strong, people would play them more.
1 -
Thats a bold statment. Comparing Trickster to Nurse.
2 -
well yeah i'm like that (no i'm usually quite quiet and the coward of the group)
Just to compare combos that were nerfed because unhealthy for the game ^^ No other killers than Nurse had that.
A 4 knifes Trickster is able to down a survivor faster than a Nurse because of the fatigue she gets from using her blinks, and because you didn't have to aim at the survivor but at his feet for it to damage since it bounced.
But i see how i put myself in trouble and will get bashed in less than an hour ahah
3 -
One year is not that long ago when new killers are only released quarterly.
“If they were strong, people would play them more.”
Flawed logic. I see way more people playing Deathslinger than I do Spirit, does that mean he’s the stronger killer? Hell I see more Trappers than Spirits these days and we all know Trapper is weak as #########. Most people don’t play killers just because they’re strong, they play them because they enjoy them - why else are there so many Wraith players? Is he top tier now?
Whether Twins have popular appeal or not, they’re strong.
9 -
It wasn't a bug but it was something that needed nerfed.
Trickster was already quite strong in the 1v1 so lowering his knives to 4 was quite stupid. This killer isn't strong/op overall but it doesn't mean that these add-ons aren't stupid together.
1 -
So why not say it's a nerf instead of a "fix" because it's not a bug.
0 -
So is Hag not strong too then? They're very rarely played so by your logic they must not be an A tier killer.
2 -
They say they are buffing him but they actually nerf him, for the second time already. And then they wonder why the killer's performance doesn't get better.
1 -
This combo was literally making him a better camper than leatherface, not really a healthy thing for the game at all.
5 -
But the Twins only "power" is to stand around and do nothing. That isn´t exactly strong.
Noob killers stand around and do nothing. Would you call them strong?
0 -
You’re making yourself sound like a noob killer. Being in two places at once is very strong, and Victor can injure/down multiple people very quickly.
8 -
I see i really hit a nerve with that twins comment. Everyone suddenly storms in and claims that the Twins are strong.
*rolles eyes*
Yeah, sure they are strong. I can´t remember a single match that i died against Twins.
0 -
I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say. By “stand around and do nothing” are you talking about Charlotte being immobile while Victor runs around the map at 150% speed chasing survivors? You know that one of them “standing around and doing nothing” means the other one is doing stuff, right? Or are you implying that people who play them only camp, and that means they’re weak?
4 -
Watch dowsey play them
0 -
One year has 4 chapters, come with 4 Killers. Count back 3 chapters from Nemesis, we have Trickster, Twin, Blight. So he said the truth.
If you dont count Blight, you should count the incoming Killer then, which no one know what's it going to be.
0 -
This is not something that comes up now, it is generally accepted that Twins are a strong Killer. They are not really fun to go against and for some players also not fun to play, but this is different from being strong or weak.
But I am well aware who I am talking too, obviously you will never accept that strong Killers are indeed strong since it is completely against your narrative.
7 -
Oh i watched him get stomped when the SBMM was active.
Anyway, this discussion was about TRICKSTER. So i don´t really want to derail this thread.
0 -
Then you only went against bad twins. People don't play them because their playstyle is boring to most. That has nothing to do with strength. You won't consider you might not be right, so fine, you win. Twins suck, the 10 people claiming otherwise are wrong. Have a great day.
4 -
Please keep the discussion civil and respectful and stay on topic, this isn't a thread about the Twins.
2 -
lol what? During SBMM he had to wait 2 hrs to play against comp teams
1 -
Trickster is meant to be a Spam killer but BHVR is going in the other direction for whatever reason. Reducing number of hits required for a health state was not necessary, reducing the total number of knives while increasing the Main Event proc requirements was absolutly stupid since you already had to get lucky with it's procs or you wouldn't use it. Decreasing Laceration time was stupid, it made him worse in the loops he was already bad in, Laceartion having a long time to decay is what made looping long structures something you could do, you were building up the down on a loop where you had no advantage, you were tradding time for a down, it wasn't a fair trade back then and it definetly won't even work now no matter how much time you waste trying...THe only positive aspect of doing this is that Trickster is strong against unhooking
Touching the recoil and throw rate has destroyed muscle memory on a killer that wasn't released that long ago and that had a recoil reduction because of how bad it was. SO they want Trickster to be a precision killer when he needs multiple shots to hit and then they destroyed everyones muscle memory by touching throw rate and recoil again...I'd revert this change, he'd feel much better to play.
I don't see why he isn't a 115% killer and then slows down while throwing knifes, in fact i'd apply this to all Ranged killers and let only TP killers be 110%, including Freddy, Freddy has easier anti-looping than Clown so Freddy can be 110% and Fredy can TP to any gen that isn't completed, he has mobility and anti-looping stronger than Clown, Freddy could be 110% and make better use of his TP and Snares.
If a projectile hits you then it's not a matter of the killer being 110 or 115 it's a matter of LOS and Throw speed. The killer can be standing still and hit or miss a throw so their movement speed isn't a factor but hitboxes and throw speed are. Plus they'd already slowdown when aiming so why make them slow at base and then extra slow when aiming? On Trickster this doesn't make sense, he needs multiple hits and is using small objects so he should not be as slow as Huntress or Slinger. Clown is 115%, slows down while aiming but has a speed bottle...So Clown who isn't slower than Trickster can have slowdown and speed up and interact at range but TRickster has to endure being 110% and be forced to be a precision killer when he needs more hits than everyone else. Even Demo can TP and has a small range attack but is 115% and why? Because he needs to set up TP which can be destroyed and this is also why he has range, so that he has a chase ability. Otherwise he'd be a 115% M1 killer.
Even now Nemesis is 115% and why? Cause he has a pseudo ranged power and pseudo Map pressure. Nemesis needs to be 115% or else...Why isn't Trickster 115% already!?
The DbD world doesn't even obey it's own rules. This is what upsets me the most. There's no consistancy. It's the same as Spinechill vs Undetectable status...
1 -
Pretty sure they didn't want to say that the Trickster isn't performing how they'd like, then nerf him.
2 -
No one plays Twins because they encourage a very boring play style, as opposed to Blight who encourages a “can’t stop won’t stop must be in chase constantly” play style
2 -
While i do think this addon combination was overrated (it only was 4 blades in the open when you had the perfect angle on them) i can understand why they changed it
1 -
it is for most of the community, me included

I've personally had little experience with everybody's 'buff me-nerf me' poster boy, even given his belated late-March release, but I've recently come around to enjoying watching clips of him and I'm even considering purchasing him over Oni or Deathslinger next. Granted that's primarily due to the fact that I've recently returned to playing DBD Mobile extremely casually on-the-go, and despite awful connectivity issues (there has been consistent problems with Mobile Australia servers and being pitched up against players in North American and European ones) and rampant lag spikes, I've had fun with him. I could certainly see myself playing him on console with little to no care for how I play, because I just find his demeanor that interesting. I like the quips/noises he makes when he's hit with a pallet or otherwise impeded, I like his hit animations, his gen animations, his perks are quite entrancing (but most of them far from 'good' in my books), and his power, in spite of being a hit-and-miss thing and a total rebranding of Huntress' power, I actually like it. A lot.
But seriously, on a whole other note, people have to stop with these Trickster complaint posts. We get it.
2 -
If they never intended that why have these addons always been like that since Trickster release?
0 -
Played against a Trickster with those addons a few days ago and was thinking I was going down way too fast...
0 -
While this indeed looks like a really quick down. Any insta down killer/addon would have been faster in that exact situation.
Also noticed how the killer got 7 hooks by the time the gates were open? Despite those addons being so OP.
1 -
Yeah I agree. I love the personality that he has in all his animations and other voice lines. His add on descriptions are really interesting as well if you're invested in his lore. I can't wait for the next tome where I can find out more about him. My favorite animations of his are his window vaulting and pallet stun. But I also love the noise his bat makes after a basic attack. Small things like this just make me love him as a character even more :)

This is where I'm kinda on the fence of it 'needing' to be nerfed. Yeah, he has an iri addon that will expose. But this combo was efficient and despite what someone said earlier, it required you to aim very specifically. As far as campers using it, well, campers are still going to camp. This won't change much in the end.
Honestly, they just need to up his base speed at this point. I'll even take pre buff Trickster back IF they make him 115%. That alone would solve so many issues, would allow for this combo to WORK AS INTENDED (it no longer works together. Try it. They nerfed the hell out of it), and give him much needed mobility around the map.
0 -
I doubt they will buff his movement speed. Since Huntress suffers from the same speed at tight loops. They probably call it the day, after the last "buff".
1 -
I'm actually fine with this add-on combo being nerfed
0 -
Was a year ago.
1 -
That particular add on combo was nerfed... he also got +5s to the laceration decay delay and a +5% increase to his max throw speed. A Killer shouldn't be balanced around running double purple add ons every game.
Edit: I will say I don't understand them labelling it a Bug Fix. It made perfect sense that those add ons would work the way it did. Knife passes through survivor for 100% laceration, Knife hits thing behind Survivor and explodes, Survivor is in explosion so takes +50% more laceration. Perfectly logical.
0 -
those are not improvements. he had that in base-kit before he got any changes. He is still lost 3% throwing speed. Also. those add-on existed BEFORE he got those changes. they were always there.
Those add-on were meant to have that synergy. one of them allows knives to pierce through and hit survivor twice. the other allows knives that hit the floor to explode for 50% damage. those two effects independent of each other. So they saying they fixed bug is strange. if anything those add-on are now bugged as they do not function properly.
0 -
By that logic, I see a LOT of Legions, so he must be really strong!
0 -
The combo was fine before his changes in 5.1.0. I'm glad they changed them quickly before people could abuse them.
0 -
I like Legion. He can be strong with the right addons.
But this discussion is about the Trickster.
