The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Should BHVR remake DBD from the ground up?
There are so many bugs at this point. Should DBD be remade completely so it runs at a constant 60 fps even on the base PS4?
Additionally, could a game like DBD run like Smite, WoW, and LoL, meaning it could run at 60 fps even on lower-end systems?
It used to run like a PC game on my PS4 Pro. Ever since the RE release, the performance has been very poor.

If it means that all the killer issues would be fixed.
Perks Addressed..
Casual and Ranked mode..
Actual Rank Rewards..
Then yes..

They can barely make the game once, let alone making it again...

God that'd be nice. Not loading all the killer and survivor assets into every match would probably make a huge difference in performance on its own. There'd be fewer weird unrelated things breaking with every update.
Well, rewriting the code would mean the devs could fix the loot table issue and have Hoarder affect chest item rarity the way it was originally supposed to.

But we all know Devs will nerf Hoarder =D
Now The Newly Buffed Hoarder Will Give Survivors a Key!

Yes.

Yes. I think starting with clean slate with coding is very much needed at this point. When they started the game they didn't expect it to be this big or go on so long and performance keeps taking hits because of that.

Remake the game in Unreal Engine 5.

Yes, they need to just bite the bullet and take 6 months to focus on rebuilding the same game from the ground up with a better foundation. Pretty much every recent chapter has had a more disastrous launch than the previous one. Problem is only going to get worse as time goes on
The best time to rebuild the game from scratch would've been a year or 2 ago. The next best time is now. I think BHVR is vastly underestimating how much financial support players would throw at them if they announced a massive health patch. Everyone wants it

No. It would be a waste of money. They're already hemorrhaging cash writing and erasing their work constantly.
1 -
The question isn't should they. The question is if they did how much worse would it get.

They probably need to port this game onto a new engine. It might take a long time, and they'd be doing it in the background as well as taking time away from the actual game in other areas. But I think it's a necessary change if this game is gonna keep going.
2 -
Yes. The RE chapter really showed the cracks in the game's foundation.
In my opinion, they made enough cash to rewrite this game. I don't mind if they keep pumping out cosmetics in the meantime to get some extra cash to make the rewritten game, since I don't buy them anyway.
1 -
Nope. BHVR is a company that is used to certain things. Remaking their entire interaction with a game engine/making their own is probably extremely outside the range of their current road map. It would take some extreme fires to get them to focus on any one thing probably.

Kinda like the game not working properly on Console for multiple months.
3 -
At this point?
Absolutely.
Will it ever, ever, ever happen?
Absolutely not.
4 -
So, since you seem to have the numbers, now much money did they make with the game so far?
3 -
Just make a sequel instead, keep the most popular killers and maps, then go from there.

Absolutely not

They will never do it, obviously. The game is popular and brings cash, why would they want to change anything?
0 -
That's not feasible. They'd literally have to stop working on DbD proper for years. That means no more bug fixes, no updates, no content, nothing. For years.
1 -
They will not do that. It would take a huge amount of time to rewrite the entire Code, which means there would be no more new Content for at least a year (I would guess, most likely more), because everything needs to be reworked before new stuff can be added. MAYBE Cosmetics would be possible, but even those might not be possible.
And if that is the case, BHVR would have no income for at least a year while probably losing players because of the lack of new content.
Does not really sound like a good plan for them.

They should but they won't. They rather patch the game's coding everytime than have a new game code. On Annyversary stream they promised focusing on fixing issues and Balance let's see how they avoid doing that for the next 2 years. At this point we all realise how the game is and we just accepted playing whatever there is of it when we can get to play. Expecting DbD to be a new game is like expecting Fifa and CoD to be good aswell...

Several bug fixes and balance changes have come in the last two years, what are you talking about? Have you seen the patch notes?

Enough.

We're still in the gen rush and Shift W meta. WE're still in the trend of under powered, under developed killers. We're still in the trend of saying screw consoles. We're still in the trend of gigantic maps that look alright and play awful. WE're still in the trend of overpriced cosmetics. WE're still in the trend of botched chapter launches. None of this changed in the past 2 years and none of it will change in the next 2.

Should they? Yes. Will they? Absolutely not, its way more work then its worth at this point for bhvr.
