Anyone know how to find the killer that's right for you?
I've been trying to find a killer that suits me, but is still one that can perform well.
For god knows how long I've been maining console Blight, and occassionally trying other killers. But lately I've grown tired of precision based characters who can be dodged by moving slightly to the left or right. Which seems to be a growing trend with modern killers.
I just don't know who to play anymore. I don't want to take a break, I just want to find a killer that suits me.

Top result was spirit ._.

You could try Plague, shes a good average killer.
CC potential, anti-heal, M1 with a little bit of range. No precision is needed, just understanding of her ability and strats.

For a long time I've reserved the #1 spot on my list of favorite killers. It sits empty waiting for one worthy enough to take it...
Maybe some day

She’s very fun to play though.

Exactly!!

Question, why the face?

Is there a play style you prefer? Simple? Complex? Fast? Ranged? What’s most important to you as a player?

My personal top killers are:
Trapper
Hag
Pig
And Twins
I have always enjoy set up playstyles so naturally I am drawn to trap Killers. The Twins kind of stand out but I also see them as set up playstyle. I plant Victor in good spots and heard survivors to him. Then bam, Victor gets a piggy back ride and I get Charlotte to go patrol. I love the two places at once feel of them ^^
As for finding a killer that suits you try playing 3 matches with any killers you have available and see which you have most fun with! If you haven't got a certain killer go watch twitch streamers who main them to see how they play ^^
Trap killers are not always successful, and they are all mid tier killers, but I do have a lot of fun with them personally. When your set up does work and you snowball it feels really good! Especially those head pops with pig ^^

What's fun for you? Do you like killers who provide a bit of a challenge to play? Or do you like killers you can get into playing easily? Or do you like a bit of both?
You can join the console Nurse club with me if you're up for the challenge. Quite the challenge to get down but highly satisfying when you do. I must say the bugs do get highly annoying so maybe it wouldn't be as worth it as you'd think.
If you want someone you can easily pick up you can try Ghostface. He's like jumpscare Myers without the wallhacks, but viable on more than just a couple indoor maps. Not hard to play at all and his power can help in chase as well hiding the red stain. He's pretty much just an m1 killer, but imo he feels the easiest/best to midgame with. Not sure how to really describe it, but mindgaming feels smooth and fluid with Ghostface at least for me more than any other killer.
If you'd like a bit of both you can give Billy a try. If you can get past the jank animations and annoying roar he's fairly easy to pick up, but a nice challenge to master as well. Typically you'll start out as a m1ly using your chainsaw mostly for mobility and just m1ing in chase. As you get better you'll feel more confident in back revving and after enough devotion some sick flicks. Landing Billy flicks are hands down THE most satisfying thing in Dbd imo. I mean look at this #########
NUT.
Those are the top 3 killers I've found that are most "right" for me anyway. If I don't have you sold on any of them, then it really just comes down to you playing whoever seems most interesting to you and determining if you can see yourself playing them in the long run. Are they fun and will they stay fun? For the most part at least. Hell even if they don't look like they interest you give them a shot anyways. You'll never really know until you try them. That's really the best way to find out is to just play everyone. Hopefully you end up finding a killer that suits you best. Good luck!
(And if you do have to take a break from Dbd then just do it....if you can. Trust me.)

Comfort is everything in terms of killer preference. I should be better with other killers, but Clown has my highest killer winrate by far. Playing a good killer that you're not passionate for isn't going to net you as much success as your personal favorite.

The world needs more Ghostface mains.

The sheer amount of disrespect that spirit players recieve kinda steers me away from her. Despite her being VERY good.

I used to be a hillbilly main way back when, got pretty good with him too. I loved his aesthetic, his addons, and more importantly how well he performed.
I loved his fast paced gameplay that allowed me to control a match with how fast I could traverse. Mind you I had never played him before, so when I first picked him up... hoo boy, I felt like I had the power of god with how fast i was. Billy was such an enjoyable killer with a pretty balanced basekit to boot.
Then BHVR neutered hi- I mean, "balanced" him.
2 -
I only started playing him in his prime a few months before his nerfs. He was extremely fun to play and play against. Remember when survivors would complain about seeing only him all the time in red ranks along with Nurse? My how times have changed.
1 -
And now they complain about nurse, spirit, blight, etc. Complaining about top killers has always been a thing sadly.
Ah, to be a billy once again in his prime.
2 -
Ah that's fair. Anyway, if you're looking for a Killer who's fast but requires less precision than Blight, I would recommend trying out either Wraith or Legion.

Try them all and see which one you enjoy the most. Honestly its the best way. That way you know if you're missing out or not with the others.

Don't be afraid to keep playing him, he's a lot more stressful to play as more than ever, but he's still super fun to play as. Try playing him with the Punctured Muffler add-on, it makes overheat feel almost non-existent.
It doesn't cover his other problems with the hitboxes and the animations, but it still makes him feel a lot better to play as.
0 -
How much of his basekit did they screw with?
I swear up and down curving and aiming while sprinting always felt different after that update.
1 -
For me it changes up from time to time. I was a Doc main at start switched to Wraith for a minute then I was obsessed with Hag (she's still my go to killer), then I was on a pig and Ghostface kick for a while and then Trapper and now I jump around between Trapper, Hag, Doc, and Ghostie.
What helped me a lot for finding killers that clicked with me was grinding individual killer achievements. It gives enough matches to learn some better strategies and get a solid feel for their powers. For example I hated Ghostface the first couple matches I played as him but as I started to grind out his stalking achievement I learned how to handle him better and use his shroud to mess with survivors in chases and he became one of my favorites.

plz no :(

Yeah they definitely ######### his base-kit, it sucks.
1 -
And to make matters worse most of his addons are trash that do nothing to make the basekit changes more bearable.
And some became stealth addons for some reason... just why?
There's like 3 or 4 actually useful addons for billy since the change :(

Took this quiz for the fun of it, got Oni ans Nurse. My two best killers…interesting

Either you know what games you like and how you like to play or you check out YT to see what each killer offers. FOr me it was easy, i love stealth games MGS, Splinter Cell, Dishonored, Deus Ex, etc so stealth killers are my preference and it so happens Ghostface is the most similar to my likings and he also has cool skins. Other than that i play Legion alot cause the chain stabbing feels amazing.

Play Twins for a few games, they are really fun. Or Hag I mean many don't like playing against Hag but she is fun to play.

This recommendation is in no way meant to sell DLCs, but I guess it will sound that way. Play them all. At least one should click. You just say to yourself, "Oh. This is the one." That's how it was for me with Pig.
5 -
lmao this is pretty much exactly what I did and still wound up hard maining Wraith.
2 -
You can never go wrong with Nurse, learn her and you won't have problems anymore

Well a. the teaser just did and Almo comes and goes on the forums

I'm on ps4 :/

Also not trying to sell DLC but....
Having all the killers is pretty sweet. It took a decent while to get all the perks on each one (not super bad, I usually grind out a new killer to 50 with most/all perks in a few days), but being able to switch to any killer at any time really helps prevent the game getting stale.
Personally, I love Pig, Bunny Legion, and Elephant Clown.
Close behind are endgame Freddy (Black Box + Remember Me + BW + NOED + NWO) and Trapper.
I really like rotating through the cast, letting my friends pick who I play on stream, etc.
Being able to play the entire cast helps keep the game fresh and, with the addition of MMR, it will add variety to who you face in terms of difficulty.

Ghostface is an incredible fun killer to master. People understimate how high his skill ceilling is due to everyone doing hit and runs with him and never using Stalk. If you manage to get the maximum out of his potential you can gladly say you're of the few that managed to do it. A good Huntress, Nurse or Blight these days is "whatever", but a good stalking Ghostface is a rare sight imo.

Ghostscript has been immensely satisfying trying to learn. He’s not my Trapper, but GF does take a lot to master. I’m not there yet.

the only killer I really enjoy is Nurse, although I'm not that good with her. (survivors escaping: other killers = killer sucks, Nurse = I suck).
I have used 45% of the killers, I don't have money to try other killers, it would be nice if killers could be temporarily unlocked to try them out before buying them.

Playing on Console (mainly last gen) is horrible for killers that require precision such as Blight’s bouncing and Huntress aiming. Wraith would probably be a good choice.

Based on what you've said, have you tried Doctor? It seems like he might actually be a good fit for your playstyle. Shock blast is pretty easy to hit (rarely will be dodged by running left/right), and he's a high B tier killer imo. Can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of him. Static blast and madness tiers provide a little bit of passive slowdown. I'm typically rotating between PH, Doctor, and Wraith most of the time. I think my record was a 20 game win streak with Doctor at rank 1, so I'd argue he's pretty viable against solid survivors (with the exception of swat teams)
Also, have you tried Demo? I'd say he's a little more middle of the road in terms of strength but he can be a lot of fun to play as well

It depends on what you enjoy doing. I enjoy having a masked presence, teleporting, and trapping. Freddy does all of that the most consistently. I prefer Ghostface turning off terror radius and red stain whenever you want. I prefer Demogorgon's teleport map control. And I prefer Hag traps as a set up.
But Freddy does all three. Demo has minimal stealth coming out of the upside down. Hag has no stealth. I like all of the above characters and play them all quite a bit, but Freddy is my king.

I like surprising survivors or rushing them down so stealth killers, blight, Oni, and wild card Deathslinger. It really comes down to who you enjoy it'd be nice if they had a rotation like Mobas(Not going to happen I know) to get a feel for how a character plays.

I miss the splinters, it at least let us give the killer a shot to see if we enjoyed them or not before we bought them
