Sorry FNAF fans but it ain't Springtrap...
I made a post regarding the reasons behind FNAF's popular demand.
Though I learned why people are so passionate about FNAF, this chapter is most definitely Hellraiser.
The hints don't add up for FNAF's favor.
1) RAISE - Doesn't really mean much for FNAF's franchise motto.
2) HELL - Same as the above.
3) Pin - People argue it's Springtrap, but pins are literally ON Pinhead.
4) 1987 - People say it's the bite of '87, but that's chronologically confusing since Springtrap was introduced in FNAF 3 which is way after FNAF 1 & 2. Also, Hellraiser was released in 1987.
5) Video screen - FNAF isn't really known for having VCR tapes and old TV screens. Hellraiser literally has a scene with a TV screen flickering a red flower blooming, just like the teaser.
I'm REALLY sorry for those FNAF fans, but this has to be Hellraiser. The hints just don't add up (nicely) for FNAF.

your point is literally stronger if you don't mention

because they are so incredibly wrong...

Isn't its the Devs thing to give teasers that throw us off? Remember Silent Hill chapter teasers? Everything was looking like Candyman

I'm sorry to say, but for people like me, those are the only facts that are handed down to us.
FNAF started off as a CCTV footage checking game and sure, maybe later games introduced old VCR screens but only hardcore fans who's played the game for a long time will know that. I don't think BHVR would make a chapter so complex to the point where casual gamers would have no idea what they're playing unless they play 3 or 4 games of FNAF.
Also, other than Springtrap, no other animatronics would fit in DBD, but like I said, he was introduced in FNAF 3 which is YEARS after FNAF 1 & 2 according to my sources.
The hints are all over the place for FNAF's theory so I can safely say that Hellraiser is MUCH more likely for this chapter.

...so complex... vcr screens...
what is the connection between hellraiser and vcr again?

so? why would that matter?

you are trolling. are... are the servers down for you? are you currently on a day long penalty for dcing? is that it? that is it, innit?
10 -
I'm just saying... Hellraiser seems more plausible: for me, personally.
I understand your hopes and wishes for FNAF, but don't get your hopes TOO high, if you know what I mean.
If the hints led closer to FNAF then of course I would've written that FNAF was the more likely candidate. But looking at the correlation, I can't be so sure of it.

It is looking like hellraiser (yay), but that doesn't mean FNAF will never be in DBD.
Turning it into a 'my fandom won over yours' is silly. There are so many iconic horror licenses yet to arrive. Fnaf will come, but right now it is very much looking like Pinhead.
As for my die hard fnaf guys: we want fnaf as a full chapter, not a paragraph. Be happy it is not Fnaf!
5 -
i am partially trolling. yes
1 -
don't get me wrong, I care about fnaf just as much as I care about hellraiser. as in, I know the lore but didn't consume a lot of the media myself. meaning I played a bit of the fnaf games and watched the first hellraiser movie.
I'm just saying that while it's more likely hellraiser, it's not 100% yet
0 -
Heh. but on a serious (at least more serious note) i think people could agree on licensing Willy's Wonderland instead of fnaf in the future
4 -
Theres literally a scene in the movie with it thats what it has to do with it
7 -
i'm fine with either tbh
0 -
It's like 99.99% hellraiser. I'll take literally anything at all over fnaf. Even childs play and that's saying a lot.
5 -
THESE FINGERS AIN'T UNCROSSING
0 -
Well it's not fnaf this time but remember
See ya in 3 months folks
6 -
Next chapter is most likely original (we've only ever had three licensed chapters in a row, IIRC), but I know that won't stop them.
12 -
It happened twice
Bubba, Freddy and Pig
Ash, Ghost-Face and Demogorgon.
1 -
Honestly looking forward to an original chapter.
BHVR creativity is one of my favorite things about this game

And that's annoying as hell(raiser-let's stop here), it's a game, a mf game, why it has to be that complicated, that's unbearable from my point of view, that because of a lack of knowledge about the Scott Cawthon case (that is harassment by the way, what he got), the FNAF franchise is boycotted.
3 -
This Is a great example
1 -
So dose the dead by community ohh your playing your favorite killer that's decent or good. Shame
To be fair the fnaf community wasn't as bad as the people in game chats just annoying. Not very rude
normally I dont route for fnaf but theres alot of over lapping things and even if I'm 90% sure it's hell raiser theres still that 10% chance
So il see in 4 ish days
1 -
Predator and evil dead 2 came out too in 87 . Predator or ash hand as a killer😳

I just have to say it's funny to see the people complaining about FNAF continuing to make topics about it and engaging people on it.
Do you want the discussion to end, or not?
2 -
Dunno it's weird.
He donates a butt loads of money to the Trevor Project.
But he also supports these conservatives.
From what people theorized that he strongly supports a strong military and stronger nation. Not the anti-lgbt aspect.
More and more there's less nuance and more black and white.
3 -
Yeah, but candyman himself never appeared in the teasers. Here, we have Springtrap in multiple images, in official promotion material for a company that does not own a license for FNaF. That's not exactly legal to do unless with permission.
Unless they do. And it would be kinda weird for the devs to just obtain a license to use a character in promotional materials(it would just cost money with little to no benefit)
I'm not saying chapter 21 isnt hellraiser, just that chapter 22 or 23 might be fnaf.
0 -
No character was shown in any of the images. That's called "pareidolia".
3 -
Thank you, you said everything, just everything that has to be said.
2 -
Nope! I figured not the whole time since this has started. As much as I wanted it, doubt it'll ever happen.
Was more hoping for Pennywise after the first teaser, but interested as heck to see Pinhead.

Love how the dude has donated 50K to a lgbtq charity and it's all meaningless after he donated to a political program with hunderds of ideas where a couple of them happen to be anti-lgbtq.
Remember kids, never do anything good in your life. It's all wasted the second you do something people don't like.
Hate will always be stronger then love
12 -
I would accept gladly
1 -
There’s no excuse to send death threats to Scott’s wife when she had nothing to do with it.
2 -
remember when people thought nemesis was springtrap
4 -
Yes I personally was calling them crazy but not this time
1 -
Since when did the theories about Fnfaf and Pinhead transpire to politics...? I think we should drop all conversations regarding politics from this point. It just creates more negativity needs be. Treat it like a personal rule me and many including others have: The best way to keep friends or civil conversations is not to discuss politics or religion. :)
2 -
So this is pareidolia?
its a bit more blocky since I zoomed in, and the ears are more purple because of messing with levels, but that doesnt appear on the normal map, there is not a single DBD character that has that on top of their head.
I could agree with you that the sky image is pareidolia, but even the sky differs from what is inside the map itself, so it's reasonable that people came to that conclusion as well.
This is why I say that even though hellraiser is the next chapter, they did aquire a license to use FNaF characters too. At least, for promotional material.

Well if you dont know these things then maybe do a little catching up so that your info isnt outdated. Or maybe catch up on some of the most basic fnaf lore out there that blows your 1987 time difference point out of the water
0 -
To be fair the FNAF timeline is a mess of retcons and contrivances. I enjoy the lore of the series but even years later there's no universally accepted, ironclad explanation for everything. That's part of the fun, but it's also kind of annoying. Expecting someone who isn't a fan and doesn't really care to be to sit down and try to make sense of the game's full story is kind of asking a lot.
2 -
I see what you mean but thats not what im asking. Fnaf lore has the basic stuff that is generally accepted and then it goes way off at some point. OP stated that the 1987 date doesnt work because springtrap comes later, but purple guy aka william afton is the community accepted cause of the entire incident. That is a very largely accepted claim, and takes like one or two google searches to figure out. So its not asking alot at all really

It doesn't seem like a lot because we're already familiar with the details. I think that anyone who's tasked with trying to piece together the FNAF timeline would need a good amount of time to do so. The two different bites, the multiple pizzerias, the sister location, Afton and his son, Henry, Ennard, various versions of the animatronics (a lot of people still seem to think that there's only four or five when in fact there's what...like forty?)
I understand where you're coming from but for the sake of just trying to get a couple of details to weed out what the trailer is referring to I think that the user did fine. FNAF is a pretty deep and needlessly complicated well, you know? I mean just today someone spoke about a mystery box, which is of course integral to Hellraiser, but I found myself thinking "oh man, I forgot that FNAF has a mystery box too. Jeez, there's so much going on that even I can't keep it all straight".

Not sure if this was mentioned, but Scott had said something about their being no collaborations for FnaF in the near future.
Also with his upcoming retirement after he passes the franchise off to a trusted person (if he hasn't already), it's highly unlikely a deal would be struck to add FnaF into the game. Maybe when the new developer for the franchise is in place, but it doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon.
0 -
Yes, it is. That's a crow and a bunch of rocks. Look at the original image, not this zoomed-in, cropped, and digitally altered nonsense.
4 -
Yeah... You literally cannot trust anything that man says. At all. Even though I don't think he was genuinely trolling this time when he said it, he did say, "there will not be any collabs this year." Meaning 2021. I heard these chapters take a year to make? Not quite sure how true that is, (if someone could clarify or confirm that I'd actually really like that as I've always been curious how long it takes to make a single chapter / paragraph) but if so, Scott could've signed a deal before retirement. I've also seen on the Fnaf Reddit that dbd has expressed interest to Scott about having Fnaf but then again, I've also heard some devs are split on it so I don't know how true that is either.
But I genuinely don't think he was trolling this time. I too, don't think there will be any Fnaf x dbd Collab anytime soon. Plus I think he said something like wanting to focus on Fnaf solo or something like that idk. Point is, the man is an epic troll so you can't take everything he says at face value but this time I think we can.
0 -
I know, he likes to troll his fans a lot, a reason why I love his work and the content he puts out, but he's probably under stress with the death threats and whatnot. If I was in that position I would focus more on taking care of my family, and that's what he said he'd be doing in his retirement post.
Scott is a good man, and this is one of the few things we can probably take at face value.
0 -
Ok everyone chill the reveal is only hours away if its today
the best we can do rn is be calm and accept the chapter
0 -
Also scot no longer owns the rights to fnaf he gave them away when he retired last year
So this isint supporting scot if it is fnaf
0 -
Well, Scott is still the one who started the franchise, and put out most of it's content (fan games not included, though they are nice as well). I've gradually fallen out of touch with the FnaF games and they're just a game that I play when I'm bored with nothing to do. Do I still support their creation? Of course.
But it'll also depend on what the new developer for the games does, because there have been cases with movies where the new director for a film franchise ruins the film. That can quite possibly be the case for FnaF although, I'll try to keep my hopes up.
0 -
Thanks for being reasonable
0 -
No worries, as I've gradually fallen out of touch with the games, but they would be nice to see within the game, although it's unlikely with all clues pointing to HellRaiser and whatnot. If it's FnaF I'll be surprised though.
But my thoughts to top it all off, they should be focused more on the issues with the game instead of adding more imo.

Same I've fallen our of fnaf 1 is repetitive
2 is stressful
3 is stress and spooky
4 is suspenseful with with some stress
