Just checking in to see how everyone is being treated by MMR

I’m currently in the middle of the English countryside and don’t have access to my computer, and I won’t get to try out the MMR due to not going home till the day the test ends. so how’s the system that is perfect in every way and has zero problems working for everyone?

I get good fights as killer, every match is intense

Survivor I can't give accurate input on because I've been playing SWF with my new friends

There’s no balance in mine: either it’s a 4K for the killer or they get run over completely with 0k. Looots of camping and tunneling.

it honestly makes no sense to me, one match i will be put against the most dumb killer, and the next it will be the sweatiest killer i've seen in my life.

I've lost 7 games in a row as Clown & still get experienced full meta build survivors. I'm on a 12 3-4k streak as Nemesis & i honestly feel like mmr is having no effect on the killer or survivors I get.

I honestly can't make a read on it. Last time MMR was introduced, It was supposed to factor in how often you play with certain killers, so it was to make it easier on you if you're playing a killer you don't normally play. I just played my second Ghostface match ever, and the SBMM must have predicted I was a pro because I only got one hook and the generators flew. And playing solo survivor is no different as it's still a pain in the ass.

I don't know what happened to the offline bot mode that was supposed to come with the mid chapter, but I would have preferred that to practice instead of in these online sweaty matches.

Much harder killer matches, same level survivor matches, it's really weird.

So true, its either I get paired with 3 other great survivors or mismatched with freshies.

VERY hit or miss. Either I play like a scumbag and win or I play nice and lose horribly. There's typically no in-between. I was having a lot of fun with a Killer I didn't normally play (Wraith) because I didn't have to sweat super hard, but the Survivors weren't babies either. However, I may have boosted my MMR too much because now, I think I'm getting sweaty Survivors again. Ya know, the 'I lose 2-3 gens for even thinking about chasing a Survivor' kind of thing. Really frustrating to be honest. I really do not enjoy playing super sweaty but it's essentially a requirement to win now. Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe MMR will aid to expose what is one of the biggest issues with the game (In my opinion at least). That being, when both sides are taking a particular match seriously, then the Killer cannot win without playing in a way that actively impedes Survivor's fun (i.e. Slugging, tunnelling and camping). This could potentially cause the Devs to make more meaningful changes to the core of the gameplay. Although, considering the Dev team that we're talking about, this is probably just naive optimism and nothing more. Either way, the Devs seem dead set on the idea of MMR so I'm a bit worried for the game's future.

It's still horrible. Potatoes as survivors. Mhhhh I love it.... Still stuck on 7. Can't get out of here.

Balanced matches overall. I never stomp nor get stomped anymore. If a 4k happens, it's either at 1 gen remaining or endgame. If all survivors escape, at least I (or the killer I went against) got 6~8 hooks. A lot of 2ks.

Love it overall. I'm sweating super hard on Nurse and getting good survivors in return. I'm seeing a noticeable difference in the mechanical skill of the survivors I'm being matched against. I can't just safety blink to corners and get automatic hits anymore. My queues are getting a bit gnarly though.

Survive With Friends. Playing with your friends as a set group, usually voice chatting to each other.

It’s weird. The killers I’m facing are mostly pretty good, but the survivor teammates I get are either really good as well so we all get out (or one person gets tunnelled to death), or my teammates are absolutely clueless Urban Evaders who can’t use the information provided by Kindred to coordinate a save, and go down in seconds. Really odd.

I haven’t played much killer yet because I’m kind of nervous about the matches I’m likely to get, honestly.

Right now it's quite perfect for me... Not too sweaty as killer and I've only had one Freddy whom was thinking fake pallets is the winning was go full sweat... other then that it's been great.

So far, so good. I've played somewhere around 12-13 hours as killer, and 4-5 hours or so as survivor (a handful of solo matches, and a stretch as part of a 3-person SWF). I wanted to play more killer since I guessed if MMR was working correctly, it would show up in the matches I had playing killers I know I struggle with, or that I never play.

Out of all of these matches, I've honestly only had a couple from the killer side that were routs in either direction (the ones I lost were because I played poorly or the survivors simply played much better, and the ones that were routs in my favor all centered around a catastrophic mistake someone made that caused a match to snowball quickly into a win). As a survivor, one solo match was a disaster, but that was largely owing to a player who DC'ed after being downed first -- the rest were all competitive. In most games, no matter the result, things tended to not be decided until near the end, with either side having a legitimate chance to win.

The nice thing on my end has been playing with killers I simply don't play -- normally because I don't have the hours in them of practice to be really good with them, and at my rank, practicing with someone new simply isn't an option. Those matches have gone great, giving me ample opportunities to make a mistake here and there and not get punished by 5 gens done in 5 minutes or less.

I'm not discounting other people's experiences with it so far -- this is just my personal experience, which has been more positive than not.

You can't be screwed by MMR if you are not playing DBD.
