Do Other Licensed Maps have the Chance of Going Away?
Are we going to lose other licensed maps or is Hawkin's Lab the only map that is licensed like this?

This could potentially happen again if the other licence holders pull back. But at the moment it's just the Stranger Things licence

Ultimately, not any more than before.

I personaly think NoES is the one in most danger right now. As far as I know, that is the strictest license and it wouldn't surprise me to see it go.

Nightmare on Elm Street has been in the game for about 4 years now without any issues, the license holders are most likely content with Freddy and Quentin being in DBD, otherwise the license would've been revoked a long time ago.
Silent Hill is the license in danger. Konami is very, VERY strict when licensing their games. It's a miracle BHVR managed to get Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason into the game. I would not be surprised if Konami suddenly decides that they don't want another company profiting off their characters.

If we only lose the maps, hopefully the Resident Evil license runs out tomorrow.

I wouldn't go with the time something's been in the game for this. Some licenses are longer so they last years.
At least we know that Halloween is safe for a LONG time due to a very recent renewal.

Any game has the possibility of having a licensed removed. Don't look to deep into it. Losing one license isn't a sign of things to come. Especially in a game that is doing as well as this one is.

Yes but it is slim.

Always been a chance just hadn’t happened yet so people were surprised. But it seems like many believed this was never a possibility

I never thought the maps would go away. But i guess the problem is you still technically access the licensed content, since you could buy Dead By Daylight and play on that map without buying the DLC.

Go be negative somewhere else.

I kind of wish each of the licensed maps would have a reskinned non licensed variant ready to go in case of things like this happening. Hawkin's layout would be good for several possibilities of "different" maps.

No thanks. I have an opinion. And that opinion is one shared by many: Raccoon City is trash.
Cheers 😘

There's a chance on losing game licenses based on how greedy the owners of them become. My best guess is that after Smite buying the license for way more than the price DBD was paying for it, they wanted to ask more to DBD and they refused to do so. That could easily happen with Silent Hill and Resident Evil at any point given once their license contract needs to be renewed. It would be rare but it could happen too to other licenses. Let's hope that's not the case, so killers and survivors don't become legacy content.

Konami is currently doing the same to a different game (Monsters & Mortals from Glowstick Entertainment is currently losing its Silent Hill DLC the same way that DbD is currently losing its Stranger Things DLC)

The prevailing theory is that Netflix doesn't want other games using their IP, as they plan on making their own games in the near future (according to a recent investor call).
