Stranger Things could* become a generic chapter
Me and a friend were just talking about demogorgon as a killer and how much fun he was to play as/ against and then today we just got kicked in the nuts when BHVR announced that the Stranger Things chapter will be gone in a couple of months and only the people who already owned it will be able to play as the characters and that was probably because either Stranger Things is gonna get its own game or BHVR just messed up with the contracts.
And after that i was thinking like, yeah i know we got a lot of people playing DBD because of the Stranger Things characters and stuff, but,i really think it would be way better instead of the people who already owned the character will be the only people who can play it, they remodel the ST chapter's characters into brand new characters for new players to have the "same" experience we all did, and honestly i wouldn't even be upset about it because, yeah i like stranger things and stuff but i would rather keep the characters mechanics in the game as different ones than just taking them away and just having the characters as something like "ooh this dude have that demogorgon character who got removed like 5 yrs ago must be a pro"
but that's it

I don't think ST could be made into a generic chapter. The characters have become too beloved in the community, entire memes have sprung up from them dedicated to the care for them. Scoops steve, demodog, the hype around demos buff, nancyheads, etc. You can't remake that lightning in a bottle without it always living in the shadow of its cousin.

i wrote should i meant could* my bad
also i agree with you it would be a big loss to the game but i'd rather really much keep those mechanics with original characters than just having some people to keep it, it just feels unfair for new players ye know?
