I get pallet stunned even if i step back

Member Posts: 347

i think lately something changed about the pallet stuns, even if I step back as a killer they can easily stun me which is annoying. Anyone experienced the same?

    yeah same deal here!

Makes sense. Seems like they way overtuned the validation with wifi consoles in mind to the point that it almost always favors the survivor.

If you are stepping back from the pallet zone, it's a fair stun. You weren't respecting the pallet.

If you never entered the pallet zone, you should not be hit. You were respecting the pallet.

Well I mean where is the "pallet stun zone hitbox"? How big is it? Never gonna know because the devs don't share information.

Made the stun larger when nemesis launched.

    We need a stun validation!

I think this has been happening to me as well.

If these changes were supposed to reduce instances where hit validation visually looks unfair (either weapon hits or stuns) it hasn't helped. It's just redistributed who it looks unfair to and how often.

This is most likely the case. I feel a simple fix to this problem would be too slightly decrease the pallet stun hitbox, since that shouldn't cause killers to be able to hit through pallet stuns more, only help them avoid getting stunned a bit more.

Pallet stuns are very strange I swear the corners of pallet hitboxes are larger

They changed it to be more survivor favored under the excuse that "the server decides" even though they just gave survivors a higher priority. The smart survivors used to just hold w and only drop of necessary. Now the smart survivors camp the pallet. Lol. Love the change!

It's been like that for a while. You play it safe to avoid the stun and you get stunned anyway.

  • Member Posts: 10,286

Yes. I'm like all the way through the pallet, and they somehow still drop it on me.

  • Member Posts: 687

Idk if this is this way for you too but when I play survivor, I rarely make it to the pallet to get a stun or I get to the pallet and the button to pull down pallet don't show and I'm like guess I'm dying then 🙃 but survivors when you're killer are suddenly beasts at the pallets it's wild.

Yeah, they got bigger when Nemesis dropped. Devs haven’t said anything about it for some reason.

  • Member Posts: 1,378

Yeah, I could've sworn I was vacuum sucked into some Pallets even if I stopped short of it or backed away IE I can see the whole pallet in view a few steps away but get stunned still. Doesn't happen all the time, but I swear my hurt box like lingers or "sways" into the area that the pallet would stun normally.

  • Member Posts: 1,324

Yeah feels like theres a vaccuum that sucks you to the pallet even if you are far enough. Also funny fact i hit survivors BEFORE they slam the pallet down yet they dont get the damage :D I hear the cries and everything but nope ..no damage

Same, Enduring is getting a revival possibly :/

Pretty sure they buffed the pallet stun hitbox sometime in the not to distant past. It's not uncommon for me to get stunned a good 3-5ft away from the pallet (im not even talking about backing up, just never getting close to it to begin with.)

  • Member Posts: 2,005

Not so sure about pallets, but I definitely get stunned by Head On in like 3 meters away from a locker. Head on stun hitbox is several times larger than the locker itself.

  • Member Posts: 1,297

I could be but I had the same issue before the pallet hit validation.

I think its more about dedicated servers.

    But who knows ?

Probably in survivor side you were close enough to get stunned. Things are changed now Killers used to be able get hits that they shouldn't now survivors are able to get stuns they shouldn't which is okey acording to me tbh bc the other was worse cuz animations were stuck you were killing someone while stunned etc.

As someone that's been watching the game since its Early Alpha and has been playing since 2016, I can say that things were far better with peer2peer connection. Oh no, you would get a killer from North Uranus every 2 months, but breaking news, the ping bar has been there since 2017 if I remember well (before that people would just spam the chat to see the latency). You saw you had too much ping, you dodged. Things worked so well back then... Huntress didnt throw real estate, pallets worked...

Update- happened again last night, wish I had a clip but next time if I’m streaming i’ll post it.

Ah yes, the 16 meter stun radius for pallets.

Same-side pallet drops have been hitting me for a while now, ever since the pallet change I have seen a new thing happening: A survivor drops a pallet from the side I'm lunging from, they scream like they've been hit, but I end up teleporting to the opposite side of the pallet, stunned, and they're not injured. -OR- they will drop the pallet from the same side, stun me as I hit them, they vault the pallet and run away uninjured.

They readded in pallet vacuum and made pallets entirely survivor sided no matter what.

Did anyone really expect them to actually fix the issue instead of just doing the lazy way of survivor PoV is always right?

  • Member Posts: 399

I thought it was just me as I recently got back from a hiatus, it's like my Red Stain adds to my hitbox.

  • Member Posts: 673

Probably a server sided decision. When the survivor pressed the pallet drop option you were in range of the pallet and because the survivor had the better connection to the server his POV counts.

I had something similar but the other way around. I was very close to the pallet and I did not get stunned and I was a bit surprised about that.

    So yea, Server said: Stun

In a previous patch note series they explained (with pictures lol) the issues with latency and pallet stuns and killer grabs.

Some say that even though on your screen you think you are far enough away on the survivor side it is reading that you are too close. Would be nice if they could find a way to fix this latency issue they seem to be having. I'm sure they will eventually, but coding a game is not easy and sometimes they think they have an issue fixed (and it could be temporarily fixed!) only to have some other line of code break somewhere down the line and then they are back at square one. This makes people think they never actually fixed the issue which is frustrating for everyone involved.

I too feel the pallet hit boxes are little strange. There are some that you are clearly a step away from and it will stun you. But there are sometimes you are directly on it and don't get stunned still. Like shack pallet. I have seen the killer be directly on it and not get stunned. I have also been killer and not been stunned by shack pallet when I think I should have. Usually it is when trying to swing around the edge on the outside of shack.

You aren't alone. My snoot is so snore from hits that uses to be near misses. The validation with the servers are likely to blame, causing what appears to be Huntress hatchet-size hitboxes from the killer pov.

  • Member Posts: 1,456

It's been like this for awhile since Dedicated servers became a thing, at least from my experience, pallet stun range is very inconsistent depending on both players ping.

  • Member Posts: 786

well thats good for you I have killers literally in the pallet and I don’t get a stun :)

I’ve been telling my friends this for a while now and they think I’m tin foil hat theory about it. I’ve been maining trickster for a while now and pallets feel like vacuums now.
