This perk isn't strong enough to risk wasting a perk slot. It's completely useless against stealth killers. Maybe something like making it proximity based but it doesn't tell you when you're gaining the token.

@JanTheMan I didn't notice. I play on ps4 and I've literally never got the perk to work. I'm not even kidding when I say literally every single time I put it on I face either myers or some stealth killer.

I wouldn't mind this to be honest because you're getting rewarded by remaining close to the killer which is the point of the perk. Consequently, this is not the case with the current state of the perk as it doesn't award tokens when you are close to the killer.

Your idea will fix this WITHOUT giving away the killer's relative location to the survivor. You got my upvote, keep it up fog traveler.

I kinda agree that other conditions would be nice, against stealthy Killers, but I'd not want to lose the ability to see when I gain tokens. To get to know when I enter the Terror radius without even hearing it is one of the reason I use the perk.
Edit; if you mean that I dont see the token gain with stealth Killers only, thats ok.

@NeonAlien it only gains tokens when you can hear the heartbeat though.

Not always, sometimes it alerts me when I can't fully hear the heartbeat already (shortly before I hear it) and against Freddy it's extremely useful to me since I have trouble hearing the music when it's faint.

Stakeout is fine as it is. Every perk needs a counter, and only the Wraith and Jump Scare Myers can truly counter it. I use Stakeout on all of my survivors, as It it extremely useful. FYI, on Huntress and Freddy it kicks in when you are in their lullaby radius. If you aren’t working on a gen while the killer is nearby and chasing someone else, then you are wasting the perk and hurting your teammates.

Not true. Freddy's song triggers it. Huntress's hum does not. Haven't had the chance to see how it works with the UR add on from Legion with map wide TR.

I've had it not work for Huntress because the hum is technically not her TR. Gonna need video to prove that because I recall it only working on her actual heartbeat TR.

One good thing about Stake Out is that it works with Ruin.

What if in order to get a token you have to point gesture at the killer, then stay within X distance for X time to get a token. That's what a stakeout is anyway, you knowing where the killer is and keeping an eye on them. It would work against stealth killers without countering their stealth (suddenly gain a token? killer is probably nearby). Then you could also do it in a chase, and if the killer sees you pointing a lot that's the 'tell' that you have Stakeout, which let's the killer react accordingly.

This is a perk that awards stealth and if you can't hit great skill checks.
Think of it as Technician for starters

I like stakeout how it is. I personally really enjoy the perk. It is a good off perk to take that helps give you some more points.

I don't mind your idea.... but.

I personally don't feel all perks should really work the same against all the killers, in an equal way.

How many times you facing the Hag or Michael, compared to Billy or Nurse.. etc.

How many killer use Monitor And Abuse..

I feel sometimes it can be more powerful and other times not. I think this is the way it should be.

@TheBean it doesn't work at all vs certain killers. And it's a good perk but not worth the risk of it being completely useless.

@Kaelum Any killer with a smaller terror radius already hurts its effectiveness. If it was high risk high reward that would be ok but it's not. It's high risk low reward.

@Milo I'm not trying to change how it works, just the conditions for gaining tokens.

@Purebalance I didn't know that. But the point is you already get an audio cue when you're gaining a token.
