Don't you guys find map offerings to be boring?
This is something I don't understand with some players of the game. I frequently run into people who bring map offerings and I personally draw the line there. It's one thing to bring strong perks and add ons but it's entirely different, and in my opinion to many extents more impactful to bring a map offering than any of the aforementioned things. These types of players almost always bring offerings that tilt in their favour to almost always guarantee them a win and I don't get it.
Where's the fun in that? The extents some players go through to be handheld in this game just makes me think they almost are incapable of playing it without bringing out the works to help them, as if they're some baby who needs a parent's assistance to transport them at all times. Even as survivor I cringe at teammates who bring stuff like Badham and Coldwind offerings, or at killers who bring Léry's, Lab, or Midwich offerings. To make it worse, almost always these are the sorts of players with extremely bad attitudes and tend to be very disrespectful as well.
NOTE: To clarify the title, I don't mean all map offerings in general, but particularly ones that almost 100% tilt in favour of the role you're playing, such as survivors bringing ormond/coldwind/haddonfield, killers midwich/léry's/saloon etc. Not something like a Macmillan offering where you can get neutral maps like Coal Tower or survivor sided ones like Groaning Storehouse, or killer-sided ones like Shelter Woods and you can't control which you get.

Nobody even agrees on what maps are killer or survivor favored. And even then, it depends on the killer, and even then, it depends on the rng. But as someone who does not use items or add ons, map offerings are literally the only valuable thing in bloodwebs.
And Hawkins won't spawn for me. So I am going to need to start using those sooner rather than later.

Let's not act like the majority of the maps* don't obviously tilt in a particular role's favour. For almost all of them it's very obvious and the killer chosen doesn't suddenly make it the inverse, it just means it makes it somewhat easier for them but it's still a survivor sided map.
Nurse can fair well better than any other killer on Cowshed but it's still the most survivor sided map in the game. There's a reason why it's not allowed in tournaments even when the majority of the time the killers played are Spirit and Nurse.

I am not acting, I have seen really good players have opinions that differed and my own experiences at my level of play differ radically. You said Lery's was a killer map? I hate that place as a killer (and it, like most indoor maps, isn't viable for ranged killers). Love it as a survivor. It is literally the only map I can run a killer for more than 10 seconds, I consistently run them for multiple gens or until they drop it. I am sure there is a general consensus, but rarely do I ever see a map offering and quake in my boots.
Well, RPD, but that is because I still haven't learned it.

I never use them as I like the idea of having a random map without knowing what it is. I love it when there are 2 or more conflicting ones on the offering screen though as I know someone is going to be disappointed lol.

Survivor yes. After 5years of playing iv hardly used many at all as I dont see the point.
Killer I disagree, maps allow certain builds to be possible or more fun. Things like scratch mirror, impossible skillcheck doc/freddy etc. Are builds I love to play and verse and only really work on a few maps

I use them to find totems early in the match. Not much else though.

the only killer I ever saw bring a lery's offering, was a michael meyers using scratched mirror...
who thinks lery's is a killer sided map?

It used to be with it'd old design. It was SO tiny xP. I do miss it a bit tbh.

It's all just randomized for me, but with the aim of surviving or getting the 4k you need to try to get as much in your favour as you can.
Map offerings can accidentally benefit the opponent, depending on their abilities, knowledge or playstyle. As an example, if I'm playing The Trapper and someone burns a Haddonfield offering, I'm pretty much laughing as 3 gens are guaranteed to spawn in houses, and I just make a trap zone using those 3 lynch pins. As survivor, my love for Silent Hill gives me a good knowledge of where I am in Midwich.
They don't get burnt as often as BP offerings, and also their is that cancellation offering (it is a crap-shoot though), but it's just an opportunity to learn how to turn the maps to your advantage. I honestly do not find them boring.

I play the game casually for the most part so i just like to use them whenever i feel like playing on those maps. So when i finished watching some of the saw movies i decided to play pig on the game, i love using them in that way. I know most people try to use them to get advantage though, which i am fine with because that's how offerings should be. But also they should add more impactful offerings.

idk getting send to hadonfield as killer feels like a slap in the face.

I don't find Badham, Ormond or Coldwind to be 'survivor sided' maps, nor Shelter Woods or Dead Dawg Saloon to be killer sided maps (unless Blight). So that's a pretty big hole in your logic right there. These are just maps you personally don't like.
I like Hawkins, as both Survivor and Killer, and I'll play the HNL I.D. as either, although less often as killer these days because I'm still making my way through my stock of anniversary cakes.

Not really, because sometimes I find getting the same realm/map over and over randomly is boring.
1 -
if the killer is doing some kind of gimmick build then it's fine, but generally I think map offerings aren't fun.
2 -
Not quite flaws in their logic when that's the general census among survivors and killers for those respective maps. Maps like Badham, Ormond and Coldwind are massive maps with pretty strong tiles that make it overall survivor sided. This is just a fact. Coldwind is a bit debatable, I'd honestly be putting in Red Forest over that map, but Coldwind has ridiculously strong tiles.
Shelter Woods and Dead Dawg are slightly killer sided, but they're not ridiculously strong for them. They have some strong loops, too.

There seems to be a very high correlation between people who bring map offerings and who will also be toxic, which for me often leads to a very frustrating game. So yeah I hate map offerings and these days if I see them I'll just meme with the survivors and not play properly.

Yes and I want them to be retired already

Nah, all in all I think maps are pretty balanced (except Haddonfield which is in need of an overhaul since a long time) and in my experience map offerings are used without malicious intents.

I feel the reverse to what you think: I don't mind any specific Realm Offering, but Realm Offerings in general are such a bore.
Choosing the Realm & map is one of the few aspects of the game i'd happily let RNG have full control over, if you want to play on specific Realms and/or maps then i'd rather you go play a custom game.
But i also just wanna get rid of the BP sink.
I can find 28 Rare things on my Bloodweb, 23 of those are Offerings and 15 of those are Realm Offerings.

I despise them, they should be removed. I’m tired of getting sent to Midwich, Hawkins, dead dawg, etc so the killer can have everything planned ahead. It’s the same for survivors with haddonfield + balanced, etc.

I use map offerings here and there as a change of pace, and only ever deliberately try to grab them from the bloodweb if they're personal favorite maps or maps that rarely ever show up in my sessions (which seem to be mutually inclusive conditions).
Beyond that though, I think that most people who play map offerings only do so to give themselves an advantage, so in that way I think that they're kind of lame. I'm never in favor of removing content from this game but if things were balanced - say, the maps all got a good balancing inspection and the rotation was adjusted to truly give all realms an equal chance of appearing - then I'd be alright with the offerings being removed.
As it is, it's sort of a vicious cycle. I never see The Game, for example, and it's my favorite map (as either side. I just plain love the map). But many others hate it. So I get an offering, use it, and the killer bails, thus I waste my offering. Everyone wastes their time and I'm out my favorite map, AGAIN.
...EDIT: Speaking of which, is The Game currently disabled? I just realized that I haven't seen it in days and also remembered that the last time I used an offering for it - two days ago - I was taken to Macmillan instead. Can't recall if someone happened to use a map block offering though, that may have been the case.

I don't think survivors should really be able to use map offerings, but that's rich coming from me I guess since all I do is put up Midwich and RPD offerings immediately any time I get them.
It's definitely a crutch, but I feel it kinda makes sense for killers to be able to use map offerings because they are like clowns at a birthday party. Most of them just want to show the kiddies a magic trick and sometimes you need proper setup for it to even work.(Scratched Mirror and skillcheck Doc are probably the most famous cases)

Depends on the map offering. McMillan and Autohaven are a welcome sight, but I'd DC in a heartbeat after seeing an RCPD or Midwich offering.
