Jump in a locker, do a gen (or any other channeled action), or drop an item as he is about to grab you.
Also it is pretty rare to see so I honestly wouldn't complain.

Do people really see tombstone Mikeys that often? I can't remember the last time I faced a Mikey that was running it.

You can't jump in a locker because that makes you toxic. According to some people in the forums.

But you wouldnt know if a Myers is running it until is someone already dead,& if it happens early well Rip your chances of winning

You're supposed to be scared of The Shape and always be aware that he can take you out of the match any time he wants to (if he brought the right add on of course). There's a reason everyone loves Myers and it's not just because of his sexy legs. He's the part of the game a lot of us fell in love with and got us into hide and seek 'sacrifice' simulator.
Winning and losing are never going to be adequate descriptions of a trial with The Shape. It becomes surviving or sacrifice.
Also The Shape has been stalking you the entire time you've been reading this and is about to hit Tier III. Have fun!
(For the record I almost exclusively run Tombstone pieces and I always rip up the most bold survivor in the match first. Except for that one time a few years ago where a Bill was crouching in the corn and didn't think I saw him so I stopped my chase and grabbed him as I walked by. Heh.)

His other hand is actually open when he has a tombstone and closed if he doesn’t

You can actually, his left hand is shown to be more relaxed and open when he is using a tombstone. Otherwise it is just a close fist iirc.

Because I get grabbed and killed while in chase because some clueless teammate decided to let him get tier 3. Getting insta killed because of the actions of your teammates feels stupid to play against.

bubba ain't getting a rework just because he shreks solo q. I don't see why Mikey ought to.
As annoying as Tombstone is, I think Myers' addons in general are a gold standard for addons. He has multiple addons that drastically change his playstyle.
It sucks getting insta morid the first time you see Mookel, but lets be real here. If your team freely feeds Mikey Tier 3 like that, they'd probably goof against other killers too.(insta cleanse+immediately hopping into infected gens, anybody?)

There’s no way you go against tombstone Myers that much too warrant getting sick of it. I see it 1 in every 100 games or so.

I used to see it semi-occasionally around all purple level. Definitely more common than Hag, Twins, Nurse and Plague combined, for what that may be worth. With SBMM, and since then I have not seen it.

Oh sorry, misunderstood. The only signal is his empty hand will be open instead of closed, which is extremely easy to miss IMO, don't really have time to check whether or not his hand is open while he's actively chasing me.

I mean it in the sense that I rarely ever see Michael, but when I do, about 50% of them run one of the mori add-ons. I can deal with getting insta downed because my teammates played poorly but getting insta killed before I've even been hit once is pretty much the epitome of unfun for me.

Actually it correlates to his movement speed. If you are not going at 115% or more that stance occurs. This means players on controllers can actually fake it

Tombstone piece needs a change, but whats wrong with Judith tombstone?

How is the add-on acceptable? Judith's is fine because of the slowdown and massive stalk needed but the Tombstone Piece is one of the best add-ons in the game. The stalk required isn't all that much and it turns the game into a 3v1 which is nearly impossible to win in most cases.
I wouldn't say it's old Iri Head level of annoying but it's pretty close to it IMO.

So do you just jump in a locker against every Myers you play against before he gets tier 3? Before you know what they're running? It works after you know they have tombstone but at that point it's already a 3v1 which is very bad. Hell even if you do it before then it's still a free hook and he'll still have it 99'd and eventually get someone when they're in a dead zone or while unhooking.

I'd say it's toxic only if you're the last survivor, hatch is closed, and you're prolongong the game just to force your sacrifice by the entity to deny the kill.
Just about any other time is fair game, imo. Hop right in that locker.

pretty sure that thread was referring to people in like the endgame who have zero chance of escape just doing it to deny the achievement, which isn't toxic necessarily but i get why people get pissed about it

You don't have time to check though unless the Myers is playing bad. Myers should only ever go to tier 3 when he's right on your ass, tombstone or otherwise. If Myers tiers up while still looping someone then the Myers simply messed up.
I'm talking a proper Myers that knows how to 99 a tier 3 and it's a simple tap to tier up and then you're dead. Not the Myers players that go into tier 3 when you're on the other side of a pallet and next to two lockers.
I guess you could preemptively do it while he's in tier two just in case (which would counter it) but you'd be taking a guess all game and giving free hooks which I feel is too strong for a simple purple add-on.

I'm sure they'll do one at some point, his mori add ons are really outdated from a time you didn't even have to hook someone to mori them out instantly. Does any other killer even have a mori add on? Only Pyramid Head can do it for free and its no different than bringing a mori offering.
Tombstone its self isnt that bad, just because of how long it will take him to tier up and you can normally notice his speed reduction. Tombstone Piece is the real issue. Very fun when a Myers you haven't see so far into the match comes over with 99'd tier 3 and 1 tap mori's you.
