Am I satan for face camping? Genuine question
Let me tell you a story I'm playing wraith and I'm facing smart survivors on azarov.ive noticed this strategy where they do where they know that If I injure one and they just run across the map to a dead zone I have no choice but to let them go cause the other 3 are doing gens and they brought 3 medkits
.so the games not going well. A ds and long chases but I got a early kill so with one gen left I say screw it and chase the one guy that's been pissing me off the most. I hook him but the gen goes off and the doors are about to be open.
So I decide to face camp him.put him on the hill and watch.now granted they did a great job and I couldn't get the grab but I down one and make the others leave. As I go to grab the downed one they dc and end the game.seconds later the dc player s--- talks me and says it was worth the 5 min ban and I'm a "face camping tunneler loser".
So I ask you people, what should I have done ?just run away from the hook and let them unhook and lie in the corner crying or am right and say when the chips are down and I got a hook I use it as a all or nothing survivor trap.
PS I also did this earlier as deathsling on midwich and snowballed into a 4 k all of the end hook.i then proceed to be called a fake piece of toxic s--- for having the nerve to say gg cause shock I did have fun.
How do I make these people happy?

No, doing a tactical strategy in a game doesn’t make you anything but just someone playing to win. Play how you want and don’t let others tell you how they want you to play.

You don't make them happy.
You need to get over their happiness.
It's a good strategy to camp with one or no gens left. They won't like it but like what you said "let them unhook and lie in the corner crying"
Obviously don't do that. I wouldn't even try to chase others. You made the right decision to stay there. Don't let salty "toxic" players decide how you play.

Don't listen to other people ;_; This game brings out the worst in some.
My motto is you gotta do what you gotta do. Make calls you feel are best for your match.
Saying gg and moving on is the best thing you can do ^^ There is no making people happy in this game as killer. Trust me, I try all the time. Even when I play a perfect match (iridescence across the board) I get called and camper and tunneler and get hate. So at the end of the day follow the game rules and have fun ^^ Clearly not what your opponents were doing sadly.

You gave up. Since you refused to chase, they had a choice of waste time M1 on gens or waste time with DC penalty. I don't know which one is more boring. They won either way. You can take the loss as a Man and continue chasing and maybe learning something from their moves. Or... You can camp like a sore. Whatever floats your boat.
Whenever I see a camper, I just stop playing and Alt-Tab to youtube or twitch. If you are so desperate for a "win", have it. I'm not wasting my time on you if the match has 0 (ZERO) entertainment value.

Not your job to make them happy. Why do you care? They're just rando's and you're the killer. Play how you want, empathize only when you deem it necessary. They can judge you all they wish but its up to you how much that effects you.

Gates powered? Yes
Survivor on hook? Yes
Camp survivor? No
Escort survivors out of exit and hand out free gazpacho? Yes
Play how you want - There's not really any need to justify what you do, but I'd suggest ignoring anyone complaining about camping during the endgame.

Nah you'r cool dude. Having the smarts to make a tactical decision like that that gets you the win is the mark of a good player. It's not all how good you are with a killer or how good you'r perks are but how good your decision making is. And yours from what I can tell is pretty good.

I look at it like this: Face camping isn't against the rules. But when I play as killer I see little reason to do it; not only does it incentivize the other survivors to just do gens, it also makes me feel like a jerk. The only time I've ever done it was when a survivor was being intentionally obnoxious and basically asking for it, and it got especially on my nerves.
As survivor? Face camping really sucks. It's really not all that fun to sit there NOT playing your game, especially when it took five or ten minutes to find a match or when getting the time to play the game is a luxury.
So I mean it's not against the rules, it doesn't make you a bad person. But it's basically ruining the other person's time and sending them away that much angrier for what amounts to really very little or no good reason.
Just how I see it anyway. Shrug
EDIT: I'm very tired, I apparently missed the bits about someone DCing (also jerky behavior) and the game reaching the EGC. When it's the EGC everyone's had a chance to play. Face camping isn't the same then. I misunderstood that you face camped as soon as you encountered a survivor that angered you.

id rather be facecamped than this ######### that killers do where they go away and come right back and just tunnel you to death for no reason, especially when ive not done anything to the person.

In this circumstance, there isn't anything wrong with what you did. I do it too when I'm in a rough spot and it's endgame.
We know a lot of survivors will complain to complain about it because although it's frustrating for them they just don't use the logical part of their brain(if they have it lol) and think about the killer's perspective in this situation.

You know this already but, if everything happened as you say, you were right and the guy who DC'd was wrong. Both about what he said and about DCing in the first place.
IMO, it's normal and fine to camp someone during EGC -- especially if you hooked them right at the same time the last gen popped. You know for sure someone's going to come to the hook -- why would you leave to take a gamble on one of the doors?

Of course your not satan but i guess the survivor rulebook says otherwise

I'm probably part of the very small minority, but nothing but face camp Bubba with Insidious i have the most fun with. A game of chicken for me. How close can I get to the killer without him noticing me?

I'm okay with a killer face camping me if I am doing well but if you do it at the start of the game and don't let up I will feel upset because I didn't get to really play.
That being said everyone has different playstyles it can't be helped sometimes

I face camped this dude who brought a last second flashlight. He DC'd before I got the kill. So sad, but I respect his different playstyle for what it is, uwu.

No, satan is actually a pretty chill dude.
On a serious note complaining about camping when the gates are powered is one of the most biased things a player can do. There are no further objectives to defend.
You have all remaining survivors left to do the resque and even a single bodyblock is enough to make it to a gate most of the time.

Lol yeah I don't count people who d/c in the playstyles listings
I don't like using flashlights personally only use them for tome challenges
1 -
Yes. You are the worst person on earth. jk

Plot twist. Satan is a good guy.

They didn't win, though. The Killer effectively got 2k, which isn't a win for Survivors.

But ppl need to start learning that camping has many reasons... What you described is just a tactical move or endgame camping that's complete justify what we despise is salty killers who were less skilled and we ran them for min/s and than they proceed ti camp and smack on hook for their saltiness

They did win though because no sane person would count kills after your opponent got bored and decided to leave.
Imagine you played soccer and your opponent decided to leave and then you kicked into empty gates and then congratulated yourself with a win.

"Imagine you played soccer and your opponent decided to leave and then you kicked into empty gates and then congratulated yourself with a win."
The phrase you're looking for is "win via forfeit."
1 -
That's in official competitions. In real ordinary life, if people decide that you are not worthy of their time and walk away from you, than you lost.
We all have occasional games when there is an AFK survivor. Do you count it as winning a chase when you find and hook that person? I don't. Because to me winning is outplaying opponent. This is all just a matter of opinion. There is nothing I or you can say to "prove" that one opinion is "righter" than the other.

So officially, win via forfeit is a thing. Works for me. ;)

You are confusing an entertainment product, such as a video game, with a sport. You are trying to apply unrelated definition made for apples to oranges. It's not even an esport and devs routinely reminded about this when asked if they want to make official competitions. But if you want to be that guy in the MEME I posted above, than by all means... whatever makes you happy.

Sports and video games are both games, so it makes no difference to me in that respect. :P
1 -
Apples and oranges are both fruit. As I said, you can think in any way that makes you happy and compare apples and oranges if you want. I couldn't care less either way. Have fun :)

You aren't satan, you're still dweetmain. you're just making the game more boring for everyone.

Since Satan wears a suit and looks smocking hot, i have to ask: Do YOU wear a suit and look smocking hot?

Maybe a lower level demon.
