What killers actually have time to kick generators?
If I get to a gen and people are on it, I chase them. To NOT chase them and kick the gen means they are pretty much halfway across the map by the time I get to the gen and kick it. If I keep doing that I lose the game on a 1 or 2 hook.
I guess, once in a while when patrolling, you come across a half done gen that was abandoned because survs ran to the other side of the map and kick it. But it took me like 10 matches to do a 15 generator kick challenge.
Who/how has time to do this and still win matches?

Blight, I suppose. Spirit and Nurse could probably get away with it.
Maybe Oni if his power is up. Freddy or Demo if you are planning to teleport.
For those challenges, I just take off Ruin and proxy camp a gen or two. Get lots of kicks. Obviously I throw the game. But challenges are more important on my hunt to get 2 million saved up for Pinhead day 1.

If there were multiple people, one or two might not even move far away from the gen and while the killer chases the openly running one they to back to the gen and tap it or resume working on it.
So i would say kicking a gen with any killer without pop is always a waste of time.
This brings us also back to the discussion of gen kick vs gen tap on terms of power and balance. But that topic has already been discussed multiple times on these forums.
Or you do it, like me, simply for the 100 brutality points. Even if this is mathematicaly still a dumb decision vs straight going for another chase point wise.

If you equip pop, all killers have time to kick gens. It more than makes up for the time you'll take to walk over and kick the gen, its a great perk.

True, but I don't think any of the other ones (surveillance, eruption, etc.) justify the time sink.

Killers that have time to kick gens are Killers that don't normally need to kick gens.
9 -
Absolutely. Unless you are running them to synergize with pop, they are pretty much useless. Blight and nurse are the only ones that really get any use out of them, and thats mostly in meme builds.

It's just barely worth it though.

Yeah the base speed need to be increased and Brutal strengh to be increase to 30%
Then the regression from kicking should be 200% and Ruin passive regression decrease from 200 to 100%, because it makes no sense that action give less reward than passivity.

That's... painfully correct.

If I chased a survivor off of a generator and downed or hooked them I often check back on it to see if it has any new progress, if it does and I can't find the survivor I kick it.

none i would say. kicking a gen without Pop is literally worthless. the regression is to slow.

If survivors could not stop regress with a single tap, and the kick would deliver a few percent instant damage, more killers would have time to kick it.

For gen kick challenges like that, I usually run Wraith with Shadow Dance addons ^^. Maybe even Brutal Strength and Fire Up to speed it up even more.
When not memeing like that, if you use some or all of the gen regression kicking perks (Pop, Oppression, Eruption, Overcharge), you should get the challenge done in one or two games as well.

It's unfortunate and shows a clear design flaw.

I don´t agree. Killers that get some significant amount of kicks out of pop, usually don´t need it anyway, because they already get enough hooks. On the other hand, killers that would need the regression of pop, don´t get enough hooks to make a difference.

Uhhhh, thx for the build inspiration.
While i am normally too lazy and don't play this game enough, i always look for another meme build that makes animation hilariously fast, like vault master Myers or instant reload huntress. xD

Try to drag someone out of a locker with Shadow Dance Addons and Iron Maiden, thats so hilarious xD.

I disagree pretty heavily, i use pop on every one of my killers and its saved me so many games. Theres basically no other perk in the game i have such a loving relationship with compared to pop. I think its incredibly underrated, people really don't give it the credit it deserves, plus considering it isn't a hex its basically one of the only perks in the game that can significantly reduce a generators progress and you are guaranteed to get it at some point since it synergizes with your only objective. I highly reccomend you run it for a bunch of games, i think everybody should. Its a perk i really think more people would love if they stopped being afraid that it won't pull through.

Oh i ran it. I also counted the times i got some uses out of it. Since that was dissapointing, i started to compare it to streamers using it.
Most of them kick the gen once or twice per match. Which means, that they also didn´t get any significant benefit out of it.
Just count how often you use it. Now consider if you are dominating because of it, or despite of it.

Idk,i feel like pop is kinda overrated.Yes there are some situation in which it's decent, but it seems more like a time waste.
You invest time to go to that one gen and to kick it ,so you're pretty much trading map pressure for a little bit of slowdown.
1 -
Not like we have much better slowdown outside of ruin right? Guess i just really like it. Wouldn't be suprised if it was confirmation bias, i just feel naked without it equipped. So many moments i see a nearly done generator and think "i could've prevented that gen from completing with pop"
0 -
Thats the whole point. Gen slowdown perks are trash. But since killers struggle so much with gen speeds, they take anything that might give them even just a couple more seconds of gen time.
It shouldn´t be like that. Killers should also get meaningful perks and use them to adapt their playstyle. Not to squeeze just a few seconds out of a desperate match.

You put it very well. Undeniably my love of pop is because for a second it feels like im beating back the incredible stress of losing my objective, and i'd probably love it a lot less if i actually had more options. Though sadly i doubt that will ever change anytime soon, BHVR seems very intent on balancing around the sanity obliterating time crunch that is playing killer at the moment. So i suppose we'll have to keep clutching the 4 or so decent regression perks we've got
0 -
Yeah, nothing will change as long as we keep using those weak perks. Devs will think they are meta, so they don´t need buffs (maybe they even come to the comclusion that they need nerfs.)

Good nurses and huntresses rarely do so, if at all.
0 -
In a way, all of them have. It is up to the player to decide if they want to do it or not, and then deal with the consequences.

I play mostly pig and freddy and have time to kick gens because I use POP.
0 -
For challenge purposes, if you can get a 3-gen going, you can get a lot of kicks from it.
But, for regular play purposes, no one has time to kick gens, and I don't kick them unless it's an emergency.

Pop really isn't good honestly,it's more of a feel good perk.I would ditch it and replace it with Corrupt. That's the only good and consistent "gen regression" perk we have.
I stopped using pop 2 years ago and i really don't miss it.
