Should survivors who are downed be able to escape through the gates?

Should survivors who have been standing inside the escape gate for more than 5 seconds, not be able to escape if they have been downed while in the gate? This would exclude any crawling survivors who were outside the gate area and are now crawling into the escape area. This would only affect ones who are wounded or healed that remained standing inside the escape gate area for more than five seconds.

Yes, to the general title of the post. Downed Survivors should be able escape through the exit gate (unless a perk, power, or add-on blocking the gate is in place).

No, to the idea in the post that the survivors have to wait 5 seconds to escape, that's stupid and doesn't even make sense lore-wise.

    Yes

You asked like 2 different questions in there. I answered Yes meaning the current mechanic for downed survivors should stay the way it is.

They don't wait five seconds. I'm saying, if you are playing as a survivor and stay inside the escape area for more than five seconds, should they be able to escape if they got downed in it. Example, you are staying inside the area, five seconds or ten seconds go by, then you get hit to the crawling state. Should they be able to still escape, or have a limit to how long you have to escape before it gets blocked if you are downed in the area. Sorry for the confusion

In short. You are in the area for five or 10 seconds, you get downed, you can no longer escape. It won't affect those who crawled in from the outside.

I've always wanted to see something that punishes survivors MORE for hanging out in the exit zones of the maps. Warden is nice. But there is something more that should be done. It kind of reminds me of the OLD Gradeschool game called "base". Where if people stayed in the box they could not be tagged😁

I wouldn't mind seeing something be changed, but do NOT touch slug races.

Yes they should be able to escape, why not? I presume you want this change due to survivors tbagging at the exit and you downing them to force them out (regardless of EGC).

But unfortunately standing in the exit for 5 or 10 seconds is a very common thing. Sometimes its to wait for other teammates or to distract the killer to hit you out to give some time to other survivors e.g. opening the other gate.
