For Kate, it was her lore. She was the first survivor who escaped the Entity when it first tried to take her. Plus, who doesn't love a songbird.
For the Plague, she's easily the most tragic killer Behavior ever created. And its nearly impossible to not get value out of her power

Myers is fairly basic but has a very flexible playstyle. There are a lot of videos on youtube showcasing specific builds and they are really entertaining.
As survivor i like playing as steve right now. His personal perks fit my playstyle, and i also bought all of his cosmetics so it's nice to have that amount of customisation

For killers, Ghostface, because he does exactly what i expect him to do. For Survivors Ash Williams, all Survivors are super vanilla and Ash is the only one that belongs anywhere near the killers. Then there's Laurie and Cheryl and Steve.

Survivor: Jane
What I love about her is not only her cosmetics but her sassy posture and her iconic smile and is very beautiful. With her perk,"head on" its super fun and useful to stun the killer 💖

Nurse because she's fun and rewarding. And lisa cause she's my favorite character in silent hill.

Killers
- Doctor - I much prefer psychological horror over the standard gore, plus his laughs.
- Legion - Very simple gameplay.
- Blight - Same as Legion.
- Hag - I used to despise her, but she got some buffs shortly after I started and when I figured out how to properly play her, I fell in love with her playstyle.
- Oni - Honestly, started as an inside joke between me and my chemistry teacher (whose name was literally Oney, pronounced the same), but he's actually just really fun.
Survivors
- Adam - The fact that he's just a generally good person, his trench coat, the stealth potential, and the fact that he gives me an excuse to do an REALLY bad Jamaican accent (that ends up sounding more Scottish/Australian).
- Min - The Survivor I connect with the most, as a lone wolf gamer, although her rework kind of put her down some.
- Cheryl - Not familiar with Silent Hill, but I like her design and her voice is really cute.
- Ash - It's Ash. Need I say more
- Yui - She's just cool. I really have nothing else to say.

I love the ruthlessness and speed of Legion, as well as the
absolute cakePunishment of the Damned and the level of creativeness that went into Pyramid Head.Cheryl's just an absolute cutie, Claire was always my favourite to play in RE2 Remake, and Chris just sounds better than Leon to me. I also adore the Lyrical Goddess skin for Kate, so I started playing her, too.

Wraith because he was my first killer back when in 2017 when he sucked and at one point I switched to Amanda but, than I went back to Wraith love his playstyle and I love sneaking up and scaring survivors as him plus he scares me a lot when I end up vsing him

What makes me love legion is sometimes you can be constantly on the move injured survivors one by one.

Billy was because of his map pressure while having the ability to Instadown someone when in the right hands. I'm sad they changed his base kit. The base kit never needed to be changed.
As for survivor, I started out not knowing about teachable perks so I picked Ace cause I thought he looked cool. A year into the game's release on console I had Ace prestige one and noticed he was a rare main so I enjoyed the fact I had a rare prestige.

Feng has been my main since I started the game (I bought her dlc with the game) because I loved her design and someone told me she's one of the best starter survivors which she honestly is. I also main
Yui because her lore is so good and her design as a badass motorcyclist is so cool.
I also main huntress cause I love her playstyle and her hum is nice to hear as you progress the game.

I enjoy catching nice and young ladies in rusty bear traps in the wild forest ... so maining the Trapper was something natural for me

Blight, ever since I discovered LilithOmen and the crazy flicks and techs you can pull off with him, Blight has a high skill cap and every time you pull off something with him you feel rewarded. It's also so good to finally have a main that can run non-meta perks and still destroy teams unlike my former main Wraith. Wraith feels kinda sluggish when cloaking and uncloaking, with Blight you can just ZOOM

Ace because he smiles and wears sunglasses even though he's stuck in basically hell. Also because he isn't quite as noisy as some of the other survivors
I don't really have a main killer, but I do like having zombies as Nemesis which is something I've wanted for a long time. Too bad they're super dumb and you can't really do much with them

Let's do that chronologically :
Firt I didn't main any surv, I didn't like anyone of them, but I imagine I did main Meg, because I had Sprint Burst and Adrenaline basekit (I didn't want to spend too much BP in other surv, in the beginning, Sprint Burst/ Lightweight/ Adrenaline /Kindred was all I needed)
Then came the Silent Hill Chapter, I loved the PH them so I immediately bought the chapter, and tried Cheryl.
Who has a fabulous voice imo. And since this chapter, I main her, and I even bought Cybil Bennett, who is my actual main. She's a badass woman (daymn she rides a freakin chopper), I like that, plus her style is uncommon in DbD !
And killers.... I mained Nurse. I suffered. A lot. XD starting the game by wanting at all costs to master her. I'm a pure lover of hard gameplay, a real masochistic player. I love Doom Eternal in Ultra nightmare, I love Ultrakill, I love StarCraft 2, .... That's my passion, eating good and (maybe too ?) hard games in my face.
That was an absolute error, but now I main her like hell, and, as I said, I love PH theme, so I'm playing him sometimes when I want chill games !

Survivor: Meg. To be fair, when I started playing, there were only 4 survivors, and Meg is the first I unlocked all the perks on. Right now I've added Cheryl and Felix to the mix where I have 3 survivors I can play pretty much whatever I want.
Killer: Doctor, he was the first killer to truly change the looping mechanics(you could argue Nurse, but there wasnt really any looping mechanics against Omega Nurse, just hail mary's). Myers ended up being my second killer to main, purely because he is one of the few killers with mechanics that will actually (jump)scare people. It's quite fun to see someone run into the corner of a wall because they threw their mouse away after a spook. Doesnt happen too often, but it's absolute gold when it does.

Fell in love with doc because I could find survivors with ease on any map with out having to aimlessly look around since I can’t see scratch marks very well, but since they finally added color blind mood I can branch out a bit. But doc will always be my number 1.

The killer that got me into the game was Freddy's release, and I loved playing him. Took some time to get good but I learned quick how to play him good and that he didn't play like other killers. The only one I've found that is close to him now is wraith. I also main Leon, I used to main ace because pilot cosmetic but Leon is my one and only until I get a native American rep

For survivor, I main Jeff.
He's a metal head like me and I love that the metal head community has some representation in this game. He's also described as a gentle, caring dude despite that he may not look it at first. I, and I'm sure other lovers of heavy music, find this VERY relatable. Needless to say, I love all of his cosmetics too.
For Killer, I main Oni.
I pretty much love everything about him. His lore is cool, his aesthetic and cosmetics are easily my favorite, and his power is really strong. Whenever I lose as him, I always feel like it's because of a mistake I made and that I could have played better.
Going back to his cosmetic look, can I just say how awesome it is how he changes when he transforms? The glowing parts of his body, the different horns and other parts that grow? It really makes his outfits feel that much more special and worth the money. :D

I've dealt with similar issues that she has:
Family not believing in your passions.
Becoming the black sheep of the family for pursuing your dream.
Pushing yourself way too much to try to impress people.
Spiralling into a bit of a sownward spiral when you feel like you disappoint people.
Honestly I read her back story and I was immediately like a vibe with you so hard. ( It's not the best backstory out there. It's still somewhat clunky which is why I really want them to give her a tome but I still vibe)
She was also the first survivor we got lore wise that was pretty selfish with her interactions in the Entity's realm a lone wolf that didn't really didn't care that much about the other survivors
(Unlike Yun Jin she's not the type to step on people to get ahead. However she's definitely the type to see other survivors as lower priority in comparison to what she's doing)

As a killer, it was my pre-existing love for Freddy and how unique he was when compared to the rest of the roaster.
As survivor...it is hard to say. I don't know what made me main Claudette for a very long time, but I am thankful for it. She was an amazing character, always there for my survivor trials.

For survivor I main Steve and Yui. Steve just cause I love stranger things and think the scoops ahoy outfit is so good. Yui because shes super cool and strong.
For killer I love Oni. Cursed Legacy is by far the best original chapter imo. Both Yui and Oni have great lore and I love the way they look. Oni also has AWESOME chase music that I never get sick of.

I mained Nurse back in the day because I liked the playstyle (predicting survivors' movements through terrain, having to be precise with blinks) and the fact that she's the only killer that instills fear on every survivor (at least until they get their wish and the most unique killer in the game gets nerfed into the ground).
I mained Jake because of his perks.
I main Felix now because he's hot.

Survivor, 100% Nea, started playing as her for survivor right at the start, I love her lore and I adore her design and lore. Also her perks are super fun imo
Killer, I'm currently a Huntress main, her backstory and visuals drew me in and then the play style kept me I'm actually making a coseplay of her at the moment!
Another killer I love is The Pig, I love Amanda from the Saw films so it's kind of a no brainer for me.

Wraith. As a fan of stealth games something about playing a stealth killer felt suiting. Being invisible sounds cool, the "Bell warning the incoming danger" gimmick is also great, his backstory was rather tragic and his look seemed nice.
No, im not a freddy main who swithed to wraith, i have been playing him during the time wraith players prayed for buffs.

I main Doc, no surprise there I imagine. I was originally going to be a ph main but I didn't wanna use money that week so when the game came on game pass it came with quite a few killers so I decided why not build up some bp so I can level the character I like the most. And when I played I played a couple games as wraith first ( pre buff) and didn't like him. Did the same with trapper didn't like him a lot. Saw hag as just trapper but again and said no. Didn't touch nurse or billy and that left doc. When I tried him something just immediately clicked. I like this character I thought. There was just something about him that just made me think this is it this is my main. The first time I blocked a survivor from dropping a pallet and just going through and smacking them gave me a type of rush like I'd never felt before. For the first time since playing the game I thought " HAHAHA I AM IN CONTROL NOW". The power to stop a survivor from doing things and slowing the game down to where I could run around and do stuff as I saw fit, absolutely mind blowing. Plus I was never the type of guy to be sneaky so the idea of making your tr bigger for a better effect really appealed to me. It really helped shape the type of player I am to this day. It helped that when I did the pallet thing Doc laughed at the same time I did. Made that moment all the sweater.

I like playing Yun-Jin because of her colorful cosmetics. The reason why I like to main Deathslinger is because of his power. His power is really fun and feels very rewarding for landing good shots.

For me, it was Jake's Lore, design, and perks. His stuff just kinda resonated with me, and I haven't stopped liking him since.
For Pyramid Head, it was the versatility of his power mixed with his... assets ;)
For my secondaries though, I like Nea for her bright outfits and her urban style- reminds me of aesthetics I really like irl. Steve is my fav boi from Stranger Things. Ash is... well, it's Ash from Evil Dead. Who wouldn't want that? And Leon and Felix are cute.
I like Myers because... well, it's Myers. He's simple, fun, and has really nice legs. Nuse is for all the technical aspects of playing her, and Spirit is for all of the interesting concepts of her power design. Ghostface is purely for the crouching and Mori.

- She is the most satisfying killer IMO.
- She has a really high skill cap.
- She's good.
- She's fun.
Kate:
I used to be really stealthy when I was playing, the "Spine Chill + Iron Will" kind of stealth. So I wanted to main someone who was short, quiet, and good-looking. I decided to watched Otzdarva's video on how lound every survivor is. And the information he gave me, told me that Kate was the quietest short Survivors. So I picked her as my main. At first, she was okay. I wasn't very impressed by her default outfit. But the more I played her, the more I grew attached to her. And as soon as I bought my first skin for her, fell in love with her instantly.
