Why are hitboxes no problem in nearly every Shooter but in DBD they are this trashy?

Why are hitboxes no problem in nearly every Shooter but in DBD they are this trashy?

I am talking about:

Huntress Hatchets

Deathslinger Shots

Demo Lunges

Victor Pounces

Freddie Hitbox (looks ridiculous because of his arms but still its stupid)

Nurse-Hits (which look like Autoaim to me)

Blight-Hits (where i am literally behind him or behind a wall and still get hit).

And i don´t mean the hits where the killers have a wood connection ( thats why i would love to sort out certain regions for me but if i talk more about it, mods will call me racist etc. :/ ). Bad connection killer are worse.

But i also get hit with hatchets for example even when i play KYF with people from my region. It looks like i am carrying my hitbox behind me in an invisible bag which is as big and tall as my character. Its ridiculous. And this problem exists in nearly no shooter and you know it.

This doesn't look like hitbox issues, but latency correction, based on the list you provided. The game has a weird sorta 'rollback' effect for survivors where if you get hit when you should but your a bit behind you will end up getting a weird smackaroo a few seconds after a vault or whatever.

Its usually easy to notice that it is fair and you weren't actually at a distance to be clear if you really pay attention, but it can be annoying as heck either way.

I know what you mean - But i played PUBG for a long long time and it´s hilariously buggy. But it was not like ALL Shots were stupid or lag or "through walls" or whatever. In DBD - Everytime the killer aims behind me (when i am running around a corner for example) i will get hit. I will even see the blood which will come out of the "invisible bag" which i reffered to earlier. It simply looks stupid every. fricking. time. Same goes for Victor and Demo hits.

I think a big issue is that when survivors run, they are leaning forward too much, and when they start to spin, they look more like a chopper, instead of a human. Then it is hard to know where exactly is the hitbox.

Well, I mean, DbD isn't a FPS. Even the guy with an actual gun doesn't really operate like an FPS. There's no comparison to be made here.

And in general, most of the hitboxes are fine. Huntress hotboxes aside, of course. It's all just latency + BHVR's rash servers.

Then why would you add FPS-content? Because Shooting is FPS content and Huntress and Slinger shoot. So you should be able to fix your game so the FPS-Content will work (which doesen´t)

No, they aren't. I already said I agree that Huntresses hitbox is #########, but Slinger is barely an FPS mechanic. Slingers gun is basically a lasso. It doesn't harm when it hits, all it does is pull in.

If this game was an FPS it would matter where Slinger hits. But it doesn't. It would matter where Trickster or Huntress hits, but it doesn't.

Never been shot behind a corner before I see.

It's a common thing in shooters. It's just you notice it more with close up interactions like in DBD.

FPS games handle latency differently, but with DBD, it feels like The Killer gets extremely generous priority on nearly every hit. I get the impression that the devs are really afraid of implementing a stricter and fairer version of validation.

Dealing with The Huntress is another issue. Even when running straight, you will see her hatchet above you or the left or right, and it still strikes you. It seems like she's throwing cinder blocks at you rather than a narrow hatchet. Hatchers also feel like hitscan; it doesn't matter if you turn or move away it will hit you. The devs should call them homing hatchets because they might as well turn corners with the way they hit.

Hatchet hitboxes are ball shaped. So taking latency into account, a visible object being thrown at you can seem off when it hits.

Yes. I hate how you've got to have precise perfect aim FOR MELEE as well as range in this game, or your hit won't ever connect. Survivors moves slightly to one side? Auto aim. Survivor spins? Aim dress. A survivor runs into your body? Can't see em.

I kind of like it, makes getting hits more satisfying.
