Can we get more killers based on folklore like Oni?
These are the kind of killers that are based on traditional folklore like Oni. In Japanese it means Ogre. It’s cool to see killers based on something that parents would tell to scare their kids. Something in the real world that behavior can make in a game. And allows behavior to expand DBD to untouched markets. I would like to see a killer based on Indian folklore.

by "indian", you mean from india?
or just not the correct word to refer to natives? (unless you are brazillian, in which case it is the correct word, but only in portuguese)
hag is slightly based on the wendigo, which as far as I know, is a folklore from native-americans. so there's that

I would like more of them as well, I'm hoping for something from european folklore. I would also like more ancient killers like Plague.

A mummy with a swarm of beetles or scorpions or thst kind of stuff, vampire, werewolf some of that could be cool.

Hag was inspired by the wendigo in early development, but she falls under the witch category now. We still do not have a wendigo. I would love some Native American representation and a skinwalker killer would be so cool, and a Native survivor would be an instant main for me

Id love more folklore killers like we see in Scary stories to tell in the dark. In fact my introduction to the wendigo was from these books lol

Yes the Sub-Continent Indian

It would be pretty rad honestly. Oni has frankly (imo, i feel like most would agree though) the best lore in the entire game. He is so amazingly well fleshed out and realized in every single aspect of his character. DBD does REALLY well with folklore based stories, they always have and i assume they always will. I'd adore seeing another piece of well written content in the game.

I did say "slightly" XD
cool. what are some possible killer from their folklore? because I'm 99% sure I never heard about any of them (unless it's one of those "every country has ghosts/spirits stories" type of thing)

i think huntress is based off of german folk lore
I would like to see more unlicensed killers tho

Well we didn’t know the Oni either and now nearly the entire community has their support behind him. India is very ancient and likely has lots of options to work with and with India’s development DBD can be big there

ok, but why would you specifically ask for indian folklore without having an idea of what to adapt from it?
also, I watch anime, I knew the inspirations for the oni.

I’m aware of some Indian folklore. And likely there’s more I’m unaware of since India has a long ancient history. With Oni prior to his release no one really knew what the Oni was.

I find hag to be more of a witch than a wendigo, but I see the connection

I'd love to see a vampire or werewolf or something. A boogeyman would be cool too. La Llorona would be pretty cool as well, although Spirit and Nurse kind of cover that. Killers with more direct references to folklore would be cool tho

There's cheeronear which isn't India but Australia

Yeah, the Hag is what her name says - A Hag. People forget that hags are creatures of folklore too. I believe saying the Hag is a witch is not wrong, since the word "Hag" came from an Old English term for "witch". There's also the fact that other languages don't have an specific word for Hag, which is usually translated to the same word as "witch". A Hag, according to folk tales, is an old lady who possesses magical powers and is often said to feed on human flesh (commonly children), and Lisa Sherwood fits the description almost perfectly, with the only difference being she is not old, just disfigured.
