God forbid a killer doesn’t give a free 4k anymore, the horror!

Just use her power in short burst, stay still as a mind game, and don't commit to chases that would make you use all your power bar. So nothing changed about spirit honestly, at least for me, maybe it's survivor that are too predictable, maybe not who knows.

Survivors don't have anything more to work with when going against Spirit either. If anything this makes her fairer.

@WexlerWendigo ”God forbid a killer doesn’t give a free 4k anymore, the horror!”
Um, who said I wanted a free 4K? I just want the power to work like it used to.
@Progamer888 ”Just use her power in short burst”
Sometimes they stun or drop a pallet that I’m forced to break and gain distance. Again, a player shouldn’t be forced to limit their playstyle because of this bug.
@ad19970 ”Survivors don't have anything more to work with when going against Spirit either.”
Survivors have Iron Will, which negates 1/2 of her tracking ability. Actually, with the sound bug, it removes 3/4 of Spirit’s tracking ability while phasing. Also, Spine Chill (relatively common) counters the stand still “mindgame”.
0 -
And you ignored everything else i said. If you get stunned as spirit, and it's a safe pallet, they will stay there, if they just run, use your power, for two second and you will be right on their back, or close to them, if they drop a pallet, just stand still, and look at what they do, and then simply use your power. Plus spine chill isn't a good counter to spirit, you can stand still and don't look at them or look at them with just the corner of your screen and spine chill will not work. Spirit it's still very very strong, with or without the bug.
0 -
I never thought I'd see people actually advocating for bugs.
0 -
That's why I don't think audio perks/bugs should be a thing, or they should be limited. Quick and Quiet is fine, Off The Record is fine. They're limited. But having no sound for free just because you're injured? Iron Will was a mistake.
0 -
Not necessarily. At safe pallets like Killer Shack, lots of survivors will just make distance because they will (correctly) assume you’re going to break it immediately.
Iron Will and Spine Chill are just 2 of a few perks that work well versus Spirit. What does Spirit have now? Predator (laughable)? Looking to see where the grass is moving? Oh wait, there’s a few indoor maps now, and some maps have plenty of patches where there’s zero grass.

I really enjoyed in her old self before she got reworked where prayer beads made her phase silent and it was just simple to gen grab players and it was scary to vs

Iri addon every game...

Then don't chase them, it was pointless even before to chase a survivor that dropped a God pallet, that seems to me just really bad play on your part.
What are the perk that work well against spirit? Other than iron will and spine chill (i debunked the spine chill argument but whatever) light weight? The worst perk in the game.
And you know what have spirit? Ruin undying Tinkerer. That's a lot stronger than the other perk listed before, and give you enough slowdown if you're decent at the game. Again spirit it's still strong, maybe frustrating to play as, if you say that, i agree but she's not weaker.
0 -
We want play normal spirit.
Don't sink
0 -
It wasn’t pointless before. I could break the pallet and with even yellow speed and duration add-ons I had plenty of time to track and catch up before. Now they can make distance, stop running so scratch marks end and disappear. Not to mention that survivors can sometimes “teleport” when you come out of phase. Yet another bug.
Other perks that work well versus Spirit? Nancy’s faster walking perk, urban, lucky break, off the record… comboed with Iron Will is the cherry on top.
0 -
Urban isn't good on spirit, the Nancy perk it's a whatever, spirit can't see blood while phasing and scratch mark are unreliable so lucky break doesn't affect spirit too much, off the record its a terrible perk, never run it, just run iron will which is 10 times better.
For the first thing, that's assuming a survivor just hold w and doesn't reach anything which is a pretty strange assumption, plus you did that and wasted all your resource bar, if he was healthy he artificially wasted even more time by you chasing him like a normal killer for 20 second, that add up in the course of a game, just go and bother someone else, and catch him when he doesn't have a God pallet and force him to guess. That's how you play spirit, just now you have to guess too, which it's fair imo.

Floof

There is no effort in the other ways to track with her, it's literally just listening for sounds.
I only ever play Spirit for the dailies and even then I only use some stupid build and run Predator because it's just boring otherwise, too easy. Speed add-ons on top of that make it so that you can follow the scratch marks even better.
But I dunno maybe try putting more effort into tracking with Predator on Spirit?
0 -
No but that's my point. Survivors have no real way to track Spirit either when she is phasing. And now so does Spirit.
0 -
If intentional, that’s poor design. Spirit would’ve never made it out of PTB in this state if she was a fresh killer.
A killer with basically faster speed for 5 seconds that takes 15 seconds to recharge… and can’t see survivors. Great design.

ik the matchmaking is busted here but they were a 4man at least?? and got very salty in endgame too lol but yeah spirit is fine fair and balanced in fact she's dead now she's so weak can't stand a chance as her damn bhvr
0 -
Ya'll talk like her directional sound bug lingered for months. It was gone after like one patch. I doubt this one is going to be around forever either.

Nice green and purple ranks you have there. Must’ve been a touch match. 🙄
0 -
yeah the rank 10 with 6.5k hours that was the best person on the team really let them down
0 -
In case anyone needs further proof that BHVR doesn’t address killer issues as quickly, here is what they focused on in their developer update:
“Before we sign off, we wanted to take a moment to reassure you that the team is still actively working on various performance issues affecting some platforms. Each bug needs to be investigated and fixed separately, but we are aiming to have fixes for some of the remaining issues over the next few updates. The first of these fixes will appear in the 5.2.0 update, which will address hitches when using Dead Hard, powering a generator, or healing a Survivor.”
Ok, great! Survivor bugs will be fixed but killer bugs take a back seat. I’d be very happy to be proven wrong.

You can have lots of hours and still be bad at the game.

If a green rank was the best, then it still doesn’t prove that Spirit is in a “good state”.
0 -
corret me if im wrong but it's possible to not play in a while and have rank reset kill your rank?
anyway no, she isn't in a good state. she needs further nerfs to the short-phase-burst style of play and the footstep bug fixed, alongside some add-ons being turned down like MDR and Yakuyoke.
0 -
I have nothing against you personally, but you are arguing a different point entirely here.
Could she use some tweaking (add-ons, playstyle to fit shorter bursts)? Sure.
However that’s not what’s being discussed. Her CODING got MESSED UP and it needs to be fixed, first of all. Give her the ability to hear footsteps and survivors can keep their unnecessary Iron Will buff. After she’s fixed, we can discuss tweaking her base power and add-ons.
0 -
you seem to misunderstand me. I'm not saying we should adjust her to fit the short burst playstyle, I'm saying we nerf the everloving ######### out of that playstyle.
And yes, she needs a bugfix. But are we forgetting the last time she was bugged it was fixed incredibly quickly? And the time before that, the bug was patched within 2 update cycles (3 months).
You're saying she's dead, I'm doubting that.
0 -
Again, it’s not the topic being discussed. But like I said, I am not opposed to Spirit getting tweaked - Prayer Beads, Vault Animation, etc. was all acceptable stuff.
This thread is merely a way of expressing discontent with BHVR’s poor management of their code when making updates, and the speed at which they tackle certain issues that affect killers in a big way. Nurse still has the blink bug after god knows how long.
0 -
People thinking a bug is completely fine = appalling.
0 -
Sure, like Key rework right?
Also, what a strange bug.. how could that happen? Its basically like deleting a piece of code while working on a completly different project. Isnt it?
How much is it? 2 month?
How many patches since this bug? 2?
Still not fixed? "Its not a nerf", it will be fixed as soon as possible.. Yes, of course.
0 -
BE fix surviovrs bugs always rapid and neat.
1 -
Yeah, sometimes I wonder why they mess up certain killers when all they’re supposed to touch is a perk or add-on.
0 -
Too easy??! I don't mean to insult you, but you sound like a entitled survivor that refuses to get good with other aspects of her kit.
Back when Spirit could actually pass a audio gram, could you hear survivor's footsteps? Could you track a survivor's regular breathing without stridor? Could you even play Spirit with Mother-Daughter Ring and still predict survivor's without scratch marks or a sound queue? Better yet could you identify a survivor with Spine Chill and use that perk against them?
I'm a dedicated Spirit main sweet heart. You can't tell me get good by reading scratch marks when they aren't reliable due to the fact it takes longer for them to show up while phasing
0 -
welp using Sloppy and Bloodhound was a disaster, i mean i still got 4 K but it's because it's Spirit and i was playing againt purple ranks so wasn't balanced.
Sloppy and Predator worked way better to follow the survivor when phasing. But informations i got from Bloodhound while not phasing was actually good and kinda missed it.
Spies didn't do anything for me in both games.
I still need to try just the ultra rare addon with Sloppy which is certainly gonna be the most powerful combo out of the 3 i tried. I'll let you know how it went.

They nerfed a perk that only she used, in order to not nerf HER directly. Let's stop acting like she stopped being OP and won't be again, because they will fix her. Not even playing DbD at the moment, but hey. Anything that stops killer mains from having it too easy? That's a welcome thing.

You sure it's a cat and not a Flerken?

I play both sides pretty evenly. Rank 1 on both (not that it matter rank is now dead lul). I don’t think that you have to get good with pretty much any part of her kit, it’s all fairly easy. To answer your questions:
Yes, yes, yes (I never use Stridor on Spirit, it’s so lame), and yes.
Since when do scratch marks take longer to appear in phase? I’ve never been aware of that mechanic, but if so, it was also never noticeable to me.
0 -
let me get out the world's smallest violin for you

Omg now Spirit will have to guess just like survivors have had to for 3 years! Spirit is finally balanced!!
0 -
Does Nurse “have it easy” because she can blink through walls? Spirit takes skill to perform at a high level. It’s a different kind of skill, especially when it comes to predictions at windows and pallets. But undoubtedly some of the folks here are gonna babble stuff like “Hur dur, she is super easy to play”.
I’d like to see some of the people on this forum pick up Spirit and try getting at least a 1K on a team like ORACLE. She wasn’t a “free 4k killer”.
0 -
Found the survivor who dies to Spirit every game.
That’s the whole point of her power. You’re not supposed to see a ghost.
0 -
Mush, I was a Spirit main for 2 years, I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to say that's she's stupidly imbalanced. This entire game is balanced around reacting and adapting to what your opposition does, a killer that gives 0 feedback on what she's doing is stupid.
0 -
She can’t see you, and if you’re injured and running iron will she can’t hear you either… how is there zero counterplay?
0 -
People try to defend the easiest killer to have ever been conceived, the Spirit, by comparing her to Nurse. Nurse does take actual skill and, most importantly, has a clear counter: be unpredictable, change direction when she starts blinking, go towards her. This way you might not escape her, as almost all of the killers who find you will tunnel you until Chapter 2500 comes out, but you still have a chance at wasting some of her time. With Spirit, you can't. Unless they guy playing her is on his first time on a videogame, she will catch you. Because you can't see her. Because she moves faster. Because she hears you running, breathing, grunting. Because she can stand still and fake her power, and you will have no way of knowing. Hell, back when she was released, and for quite some time, she even had a different vault animation that DIDN'T show her vaulting.
Nurse and Spirit only share a SINGLE similarity: you will have a very hard time escaping them. But while Nurse takes skill, Spirit does not. At all. In the slightest. Not by a single chance. I happened to find a picture, a while ago, that perfectly surmises her, and I kept it because I know they day would have come to show it. Here.
And before you try to use the excuse of "Iron Will counters her blah blah", every killer has to be designed in a way that, even by perkless survivors, they can be countered in some way. You DON'T have to be depending on a perk in order to survive a certain killer. Guess we're done now. Peace.
3 -
Dude, people really use any excuse they can get these days, don't you. "You can't see a ghost". That has got to be the lamest excuse I have ever read. So you cure yourself from a disease by drinking water from a fountain? You don't turn from zombie bites? You stop bleeding out by touching yourself where you were cut? You become invisible when people ring a bell in the nearby church? Do you perhaps teleport to things you carved with your nails? Do you stay completely healthy if you get a harpoon through your stomach, but don't get hit by a blade after that? It's just a hole in the stomach, right? It's not like you're losing gallons of blood and probably having acid (gastric juices) releasing in your body. Not to mention that I haven't seen Ash from Evil Dead running faster than light every time he used his chainsaw, in the show.
