Should there be rewards for your MMR-rating?
Just to clarify: the 250k bloodpoints have nothing to do with MMR. The new ranks only measure your playtime.
So should there be rewards for your MMR-rating? What could it be? Bloodpoints again, shards or even special cosmetics? Something different?
I personally would like cosmetics. Maybe something like blood/legacy over your default outfit. Different colors for every rating.

Yes.

I just wanna see it.
If I'm going to suffer through matches I might as well be able to see how good the game thinks I am.

Yes I absolutely hate games that don't have ranking rewards

I do, but people would deduce how high their MMR ranking is based off that & abuse it.

How would they abuse it? Using it to determine how the system works? Maybe you should only be able to see the change in your ratings every week?
I think some people will figure some things out even without the rating, but with or without rating nobody will know everything.

No there should absolutely not be rewards for that.

Why?

I wouldn't worry about it. People are highly delusional. There are some obvious secrets about Overwatch's mmr system that some people have figured out and those facts are generally regarded as conspiracy theories.
Even if people figured out 100% how to manipulate mmr here, nobody would believe them. So it is chill.

Because this game is not competitive. Whenever people start trying to make it competitive, it falls to pieces in the worst possible way and becomes an unfun mess.
Showing and giving rewards for MMR is probably the fastest possible way to destroy the game.
So rewarding play time is fine. Good even. Rewarding MMR points will turn the game into a massive sweat factory.

But the sweaty people would play with each other. Other games with ranked system are sweaty, but around bronze-gold its casual. Some people sweat even with the emblem system and if its fun for them, so be it.
Its still is a downside, but there are also positive effects. It would reduce smurfs/deranker, increase player engagement rate (with a goal to reach) and lessen frustrations of high elo player.

Honestly if I stop having braindead teammates that's enough of a reward.

Yh that is really great. But that is only 50% of my matches. The other 50% is me playing killer.

I don't think so since it would encourage players to play more try-hard, and would punish people that want to play casually and don't want to get to the top % of mmr.

Id like some kind of rank based cosmetic. Would help identify which target I should go for 😅

Absoloutely. Its mind boggling to have a game without at least a few small trinkets to display your pride and skill. Literally even a charm would be good, just SOMETHING that you can flash and say "Hey, im good at the game and i like to show people that."

As many say, getting things based on how well you play or how many matches you win (despite the fact no ones knows what is a win in this game) is going to make people become sweaty because of the rewards, especially if they put something extra nice as a reward.
I am not saying that everyone will become sweaty, but a good chunk of the playerbase will.
But i have to give a point to this in the sense that if they give for example an X amount of blood points based on the color (or whatever thing they ended up including like gold, silver, etc.) that you are at the end of the month it could help to sort of stop the grind this game has to level up stuff.

There are many games, that have rewards for skill and its not a sweatfest. There are sweaty players on the top (like in DbD), but if you dont sweat yourself you dont play against them.
I personally dont think any bloodpoint rewards would really lessen the grind. The new grades only give 250k bloodpoints and thats a month worth of playtime. You need millions of bloodpoints to give ONE character all perks and every dlc it gets worse. I understand that they dont want too many strong items/addons, but then they really need to change how you get perks.
