I think you dont understand what Skill Based Matchmaking means.
Of course you can go against 4 Red Ranks under Skill Based Matchmaking as well - with the difference that the Rank does not matter. So it would be irrelevant if you would play against 4 Red Ranks or 4 Brown Ranks, in theory, they should be around your Skill Level with that specific Killer.

Unrelated to the topic (matchmaking working great as always) but judging from your HUD you're a new-ish killer player without a devotion level at rank 9.
So, why in god's name have you decided to P3 the Clown?

You're clearly a newer player so I understand your frustration but as everyone has said this is proof that sbmm is needed.
You decided Clown was the one to p3? Can't lie I'm shocked lol and you're not even devotion one.
Even if it is unfair as I said you're still pretty new to the game and could of been why you got stomped because just because they were red ranks doesn't mean they were actual red rank material.
Hence why we need sbmm.

Actually this is why SBMM is a good idea.. it’s not implemented yet and this is a a result.. with it activated, this group would hopefully get sent to a realm more suited for them.

SBMM isn't even in effect though until September 7th. I've seen that screen before - when I was a green rank 10 and it put me up to all rank 1's. It's super rough but that's not SBMM. What you're looking at is RANK based matchmaking which is known to notoriously do these kinds of matches which is why so many believe SBMM is needed - to prevent matches like these from occuring where you don't stand a shot.

To be fair, that is not even rank based matchmaking either, that is, "hurry, throw the killer in a game because these survivors have been waiting for 5 minutes" game,

This is true. Just slap a killer with barely 100 hours with survivors with 2k hours because the queue times hurried it along... 100% legit.

You can hit green ranks with not even 10 hours played, and by that time you can face players with 2000+ hours in-game. The average skill of players between green and red ranks is virtually the same. Why? Because it resets monthly. A veteran could take 5 weeks away from the game and go from rank 1 to rank 9 (and even lower with the older, stricter, rank reset).
Those red rank players could have played less than you overall, but more in that one month. Rank is not - and never was - an indicator of player skill.
Dunno why you brought up skill-based matchmaking, though.
