Look me in the eye and tell me that this is okay.
This is one of the reasons why skill based matchmaking is a bad idea.

This has 0 to do with sbmm.

Why is SBMM a bad idea here? It would seem SBMM would have prevented this.
42 -
Is this a current screen shot? SBMM isn't active...
22 -
I think you dont understand what Skill Based Matchmaking means.
Of course you can go against 4 Red Ranks under Skill Based Matchmaking as well - with the difference that the Rank does not matter. So it would be irrelevant if you would play against 4 Red Ranks or 4 Brown Ranks, in theory, they should be around your Skill Level with that specific Killer.

The new MM starts next patch there fam slow your roll!
7 -
Unrelated to the topic (matchmaking working great as always) but judging from your HUD you're a new-ish killer player without a devotion level at rank 9.
So, why in god's name have you decided to P3 the Clown?
I am both terrified and in awe. Do you need medical help?

As othes have said, this is exactly why SBMM is a good idea.

This is one of the reasons why skill based matchmaking is a bad idea.
shows a screenshot of how trash rank based matchmaking is
Man, you the type of person people who want SBMM want to avoid.
9 -
If you go down in MMR, via losing, you won't get these teams.
1 -
I'm looking at you in the eye...
I'm going to tell you this is why SBMM would have helped you XD To not get placed with people who have more experience then you.
2 -
You seem to have done quite good that game, especially given your incomplete perk build and add-on choice.
3 -
👁👄👁
It's fine

as much as i hate the idea and concept of SBMM, this screenshot, if anything, is a indication of why it might be a good idea rather then a bad one
5 -
With SBMM this match would never have happened.
3 -
Also you broke the shaming rule by posting their names. I know they were't the topic but try to cover them up next time..
love the build of survivor # 2 though.

Anyone else hear Cult of Personality playing in this thread? Just me? Weird... Wait, why do I also hear CM Punk chants too?

What does the screenshot have to do with SBMM? Is it shocking to get 4 outed with a 3 perk Clown?
1 -
If this screenshot is recent...SBMM hasn't been added yet. That's the next update.
1 -
People are strange... I pray that skill based matchmaking helps your poor soul.

Yooooo, I know those dudes!
One of them ######### HATES me and the other said "If I get you one more time I'm gonna smash my Xbox."
1 -
If SBMM was on then that would mean that despite being rank 9 you have the same skill as this 4 gentlemen here (wich could be a good thing or a bad one)

Ummmm, if anything its the opposite in this case. It doesnt really compare though tbh because this is one of those missmatches that everyone experiences in the current system.

Doesn't this show that mmr is a good idea?

Tuesday patch

I didn't even notice that 😂
Now that's dedication

You're clearly a newer player so I understand your frustration but as everyone has said this is proof that sbmm is needed.
You decided Clown was the one to p3? Can't lie I'm shocked lol and you're not even devotion one.
Even if it is unfair as I said you're still pretty new to the game and could of been why you got stomped because just because they were red ranks doesn't mean they were actual red rank material.
Hence why we need sbmm.

Actually this is why SBMM is a good idea.. it’s not implemented yet and this is a a result.. with it activated, this group would hopefully get sent to a realm more suited for them.

Clown on Yamaoka.... That's rough.
SBMM isn't even in effect though until September 7th. I've seen that screen before - when I was a green rank 10 and it put me up to all rank 1's. It's super rough but that's not SBMM. What you're looking at is RANK based matchmaking which is known to notoriously do these kinds of matches which is why so many believe SBMM is needed - to prevent matches like these from occuring where you don't stand a shot.

*looks you in the eye*
This is okay.
2 -
Seems okay to me.
Now LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND TELL ME THAT THIS IS OKAY
Lmfao recently came back to DBD and its unbelievable that matchmaking is still just as horrid when I left the game.

To be fair, that is not even rank based matchmaking either, that is, "hurry, throw the killer in a game because these survivors have been waiting for 5 minutes" game,
1 -
This is true. Just slap a killer with barely 100 hours with survivors with 2k hours because the queue times hurried it along... 100% legit.

As a bunch of people have pointed out, this is literally what SBMM is supposed to get rid of.
2 -
*looks deeply in your eyes*
*falls in love because Clown is too hot*
*mission failed successfully*

After a self sacrifice on hook I got this match. Very interesting test.
You can "Smurf" quite easily 😶

SBMM is not even active right now.

You can hit green ranks with not even 10 hours played, and by that time you can face players with 2000+ hours in-game. The average skill of players between green and red ranks is virtually the same. Why? Because it resets monthly. A veteran could take 5 weeks away from the game and go from rank 1 to rank 9 (and even lower with the older, stricter, rank reset).
Those red rank players could have played less than you overall, but more in that one month. Rank is not - and never was - an indicator of player skill.
Dunno why you brought up skill-based matchmaking, though.
