Sbmm players...trickle down effect
So you are asking high rank players to go on a losing streak or too sweat way too hard to play? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah why optimize the game or add a casual mode...thanks bhvr for reinforcing my decision to not spend money on your game anymore and watch dbd become lobby simulator 2021.
When higher sbmm swf groups cant find killers then killers not at their level will be thrust into those roles just watch and we can have more people leaving the game🤔
Edit: I know some people are saying lower tier killers will be buffed to compensate but I doubt it...look how long it's taking them to change the trappers basic carrying capacity from a 1 to a 2🤣

That already happens. Nothing will change on that front. It will just prevent middle rank killers from being the victims and those 4k champs can take the blow instead.

The thing with SBMM is at least it can prevent matching absolute new players with veterans since I doubt SBMM won't select the closest available MMR group to match people with.
But SBMM isn't a ranked mode. Queueing up is still the "casual" mode you are complaining that doesn't exist. I know League of Legend's normal mode has it's own mmr matchmaking as well. This idea that a casual mode can only be casual if it throws veterans vs new players so veterans can have "fun" is bs.

Yeah,i don't get it either.I suppose one part of the community just got used to easy game and,probably think they're amazing at it and then face the harsh reality that they may not be as good at the game as they thought they were when going against people with equal skill.
I know that feeling,it sucks,but people really need to start accepting it

What you and a LOT of people are talking about is like top percent levels of play.
We're talking about a group of people that are about 0.01% of the WHOLE community.It's pretty much irrelevant to use them as an arguement against SBMM.
From my experience,SBMM does a great job at matching you with people of your skill/approach to the game.
It's 100% the players choice whether they want to sweat using the best stuff or to play more chill,maybe with some off meta perks here and there.
It's just gonna take a while for SBMM to properly adjust your skill rating (which is probably too high for many players,because of the awful rank based matchmaking)

SBMM as a concept isnt bad, but in an asymmetrical game? In a game where there is a bigger gap between an optimal group of friends and solo q than a god nurse and a terrible myers? Nah.
SBMM should be part of matchmaking, but at best be influencing 30% of matchmaking

No it isn't. What happens Everytime in games with sbmm is something called skill creep. This will be doubly so because top survivors far outpace top killers. What will happen is top 1% killers/survivors will get frustrated with the game and losing to the top 0.1% and so they will leave. Now sbmm will pair up those top players who remain with lower skilled opponents and they will leave after getting frustrated same as before. This will continue on and on. The OP called it the trickle effect but for games it's better known as Skill Creep.

There is already a casual mode. There is no inherit benefit to being rank 1 survivor/killer. The only difference ranks make is for matchmaking (which is what sbmm is replacing) which currently doesn't even work as green ranks can still end up matched against red ranks.

Even if that would be the case,the overwhelming majority of the playerbase will benefit from this.
Maybe the top percent will get frustrated,some may even leave but at least we shouldn't see people with 100 hours getting matched with players that have like 6000+ hours.

DbD is a casual game, the Devs don't want to change that, so instead they're locking away all those people that pretend every trial is a tournament they have to win.
So it's not just shifting the problem. Sweaty players being forced to play against sweaty players instead of normal players is a damn fine solution, and we've had plenty of warning that this was coming in order to chill out.

DbD is a casual game that refuses to pick a side, there's no way SBMM will actually work in an asymmetrical game.

It sounds like you have the wrong mindset for DbD. The Great And Holy BHVR has said multiple times that they aren't going to balance around top players because this is a casual game and they want it to stay that way. So yeah, people that come into every trial with the strongest builds, on the strongest killer if that is applicable, and treat the game like Siege are going to be stuck with one another so the rest of the community doesn't have to deal with them.
Which is perfectly fine, because there's no skill in wiping the floor with casual players.

If they never address actual problem this will not solve match making. Bad and medium level players might have better matches but only for a time. Skill Creep means eventually the best players will filter out everyone directly below them until there is no one left.

Actually, yes, treating trials like tournaments is sweaty. There's a difference between "trying to win" and "I WILL NEVER LOOOOSSSEEE!!!!!!" that a lot of sweaty players don't understand, and to be perfectly honest I'm sick of the latter, both being it and going against it.
"Trying to win" is bringing good perks and doing your best, but not really taking it overly seriously and accepting that large parts of DbD are out of your control.
"I WILL NEVER LOSE" is only playing the strongest killers or in a SWF with the most optimised build, strongest items and add-ons, hardcore tunneling, camping and slamming gens because you cannot possible fathom a world in which you aren't one of the best. (The irony here being that hardcore camping and tunnelling isn't that effective against the teams hardcore campers and tunnellers pretend they are going against).

Like @MadLordJack already explained,there's a big difference in wanting to win and playing Nurse with Recharge+Range,Ruin,Pop,Tinkerer,Corrupt or 4 man SWF with Prove Thyself,Built to Last,Streetwise,Adrenaline and an Ormond Offering.

That's what I mean...when top rank players stopped playing the game then there was more of a trickle down effect.
Longer swf lobbies led to lower rank killers being matched up with them...happened all the time before the resident evil patch.
There is no fun in getting stomped every time and killers just have to grin and bear a losing streak in the hope that sbmm works? I want to have more faith but I cant count how many broken promises we have received from bhvr over this games lifetime.

There's virtually no difference between those two though.
If you try to win, you'll probably camp or tunnel if the match calls for it. Likewise, if you want to win as Survivor, you are probably gonna bring good perks.
There's very little difference between those two styles of play, really what you are describing is a difference in attitude.

Some people just got to accept they won't escape each match, or get 4 sacrifices each match. Most people who are complaining about SBMM are ones who wanna get their 4 sacrifices each match, or escape each match. Ultimately just accept you will win some and lose some it's how life works, even they wrote their goal is to have people win some and lose some. This is the issue a lot have rather than the excuses they may make. Because at the end of the day 90% of the people who play this game don't care that SBMM is coming. Because majority of players are casual, even they wrote on their update that this to help low/medium ranks players, aka causal players. Because it's unfair to those that have 50 hours getting places vs a killer who has 10,000 hours, same thing could be applied to killer. A 50 hours killer getting placed vs survivors with 5,000 hours each. Just give it a chance to see how it is, because that is really the only option at the end of the day.

New Players won't get nuked by Veterans, maybe.

This is why they are putting this system in place. Imagine how frustrating it is for a 50 hour killer getting placed vs survivors with 6,000 hours each. And vice versa for survivors.

I already get the sweat squads in my region so nothing changes for me. The thing i am excited for is the people that say "killer is easy" to get a dose of reality. This is just assuming survivors don't throw every game in protest.

No, it's a "this is a casual and deliberately unbalanced game please stop treating it like an esport" thing. At its most competitive, this game takes zero real skill, so of course it doubly frustrates... Pretty much everyone, including tournament players that I've chatted with.
