What is a win
With the sbmm coming soon it would be nice to know what is a win for the survivor and killer.
The majority of the player have different expectation of a win so maybe saying what is a win will help with the sbmm that knowing if you sbmm is high or low

Win is having fun.
And good luck with that lol

If it's skill-based, the quality of opponents will be based on skill and not what would be classed as a win. It's possible to play a really good game and still be sacrificed or only get 1k.
It's good to have people decide what counts as a win on their own terms, and I suppose what makes SBMM useful is that it focuses on a variety of aspects, and not just on the number of sacrifices or escapes someone gets.

This is not an elo system based on wins and losses. It is basically the opposite.

Lotsa people insist a 'win' is stomping your opponent into the ground. I won't go into the sociopsychological reasons and dark implications of that line of thought, but... DbD does not actually have a 'win' condition. So, the closest thing would be to challenge yourself on how well you can play a character (like, do you need crutchperks, do you need to BM, etc. or can you actually show skill?)

As killer, for me, 8 hooks or 2 kills.
As survivor, for me, helping 2 to 3 other survivors escape whether it be by sacrificing myself so they escape or just being generally helpful throughout the match.

Subjective topic. For me though a win as killer is as many hooks as I can get with a 3k. 2k I would consider as a draw.
For Survivor, I would say to at least play a part in 3 gens or so, 3 unhooks if possible (I play solo with BT so would prefer I unhook as I don't know if the randoms have BT) and helping as many people on my team escape, even it it means I sacrifice myself to get someone else out.

As i once say to my friends, when you see the spotlights of dbd you have no idea what the status effects are, and when you start playing you also have no idea.
And now i have try to guess what a win is and at the end i have no idea, killers at best can get a brutal killer with 0k and also got it if they speedrun a 4k so there is really not a big way to figure it out.

The in-game tutorial section explains it pretty clearly.
Put simply, a win for the survivors is to finish all 5 generators and escape through the exit gates, and a win for the killer is to kill all 4 survivors before they can finish the generators and escape.
Until we get an response from the devs, those are the official win conditions, I guess.

There is no definition of what a win is - it is an individual metric. Some survivors believe if they don't escape they lose...some killers think if they don't get a 4k they have lost. To some winning is pipping or safety pipping. To some winning is whether they had fun...or ruined the fun for others.

You decide that yourself. We all have different win conditions but you know if you've won a match or not right? I do

Did you have fun?
Yes?
Good for you, you won.
Sure, there are plenty of different ways to win in a game like DBD. But the easiest way is to just look for what is fun for you.
