Should the Developers Lock Aspect Ratio?
I want you to watch this video. I want you to take away those rose-tinted glasses and those mother-daughter rings for a moment and look at the facts presented in this video.
This is what stretched resolution is, folks. This is what people lie and say "only gives a slight advantage"; this is the thing you can do to impact your game to give yourself a significant advantage as Survivor against Killer.
You also cannot do this on console, which means console players may end up going against players with stretched resolution and losing because of that.
Now with that said, and with any of you being informed, here's my question:

Yes; because Stretched Resolution (among others) is clearly Cheating!
They will never lock it because stretched res users are too many and BHVR would lose too many potential purchases and customers

I doubt that. People who run stretch will just adapt... takes like 1-2 days maybe. They probably wont loose a single customer since people who run stretch definitly care about the game (otherwise they would not milk every advantage they can get, right?) and are probably the last who would actually stop playing it.

If there is no negative to it that would cause issues for people with different tv's/monitors then yeah. Why not.

Not the best way to handle it, but sure. I don't fully understand the rage, but if it causes people to be mad then sure, make a solution. Capping the cameras vertical height would be a better option rather than locking it to a certain rectangle, this way the taller your monitor the more zoomed in the game is.

Well, I'm not really sure. There's, believe it or not, probably people out there who genuinely game on 4:3 monitors, as well as play DBD on them.
Don't get me wrong, I want the stretched res advantage gone as much as everyone else, but I don't think locking the aspect ratio to 16:9 would necessarily solve it.
