I am happy to see killers adapting
More tunneling more gen regression more noed usage less lower tier characters being used its beautiful 🤣
Edit: So now what happens all killers get nerfed or do lower tiers get buffed and using the sbmm data do we try to finally do something about adding a second objective or making map sizes smaller if they want to keep gen speeds as they are?

dont forget insidius face camping, im guilty of indulging and avoiding this as both killer and surv respectively.
denying 1-2 players any fun is the meta atm due to how bs the matchmakings swat teams are

This is what happens when your balance and map design leads have absolutely no idea what they're doing. This is also a direct consequence of only following big data with no practical testing or review of said data in real time.

That's if they want to be high MMR. No casual player would change up how they played/what perks they run unless they are competitive and want to win and are therefore not casual anymore. And because it's similarly matched MMR games, the killer's only gonna be as chill or as sweaty as the survivors are.
20 -
meanwhile im doubling down on chase perks like lethal pursuer and starstruck and just kill the survivors faster than they can slam gens.

Even casual players adapt and change how they play based on the experience that they have... being destroyed isn't fun for anyone even casual players. Just the fact that you don't want to lose every game or feel like you had no chance and are trying to win and wanting more than a 0-20% win rate doesn't make you a super sweaty competitive player instantly.
People enjoy winning games, regardless of whether they are competitive or casual. Always losing isn't fun, even for casual players.

I've had better killers but also much better teammates so I'm winning more overall :)
Tunnelling down, camping down (both still happen ofc) slugging up, which I can live with, meta perks less, I still see lots but have seen a lot more meme builds too.

Talk for yourself, I'm still playing my PWYF Ghostface.

More dead hards, Borrowed time, decisive strike and self care.
The best gen regression is tunneling someone out.
if you couldn't just insta repair after i take 2 secs to kick i might be more sympathetic.

MMR got the forums like

Same. I'm about to give up on solo q. It's never been that bad. Even if it's not me being camped, I have 0 fun in those games. Just M1 on gens and leave. Feel like I'm just wasting time.
1 -
That's crazy! Who would've thought that thing that everyone said would happen across all levels of MMR, would happen, making the game less enjoyable for everyone?
6 -
That's great. I've been having a lot of fun as a solo survivor and have escaped much more since the update. I no longer have to carry my teammates every game, lol.

Honestly, yeah, it has been less fun as a survivor, but still less stressful than playing killer. Hopefully, with the new system, the killers that want to play like that will pass me buy. And, since I don't like to play that way as killer, hopefully the sweaty survivor groups will also pass me by, and I can play as chill as I want. I like winning as much as the next person, but don't like making other people's games less fun.

Until the devs do something about gen speeds the tunnelling will get more common. I myself only tunnel if 3 gens are done with 4 survivors remaining.
However, I played a lot of nemesis games today and lost most of them but the games never got any easier, they stayed almost impossible for my skill level. The only reason I won 3 of them is because 2 teams were ultra altruistic, which forced me to stay near the hook as they were there, and one in which I had 2 people following me around trying to get flashlight saves so only one person on gens. I ignored the flashlighters until downing someone else, hit them then hook the downed survivor when they were healing.
Not going to lie though, if it carries on like this I will be joining the tunnellers for the first hooked person. Not everyone is a top tier killer who seemingly can pressure all gens at once and down survivors in seconds.
As survivor though my survive/escape rates seems to be split more or less equally as the devs wanted.
1 -
If the devs are going to force me to play top level survivors every game, i'm going to play like a top level killer. Watch a tournament sometime and watch what happens.
2 -
Survivors: Oh my god, can I get good teammates
*SKBMM gives you good teammates*
Also Survivors: Oh my god, why are killers tunnelling?
JEEZ its almost like the game isn't survivor-sided at high level... right?

I intentionally play against the meta, and I do my best to ensure a fun game for everyone. I'm guessing I'm not the only one to play like this.

Devs probably interpret the data like "We have 3 killers that overperform in comparision to other killers. we don´t know whats the problem with them, but they need nerfs"
On totally unrelated news: usage level of other killers dropped significantly "we are still investigating".
15 -
And that's how Meta works
Wonderful thing ain't it?
Just so much fun for everyone on both sides...

I mean, the insidious Basement Bubba is for challenges, not me trying to boost my mmr, rofl. There are easier ways that will net me less false reports.

Idk how high my MMR is, just like everyone else, but I'd guess it is fairly decent. Most games the killers have struggled to do well. Even when playing meta killers. I think I died like 4 out of 12 games played. Maybe 3 games were 3k or better. I know I won't be playing killer anymore until they balance the game better for higher skilled players.

Well what you described isn't very casual mindset at all. I haven't changed my playstyle at all as killer because winning to me is just getting everyone on death hook. By most people standards I am "losing" almost every game but it's no issue because I ACTUALLY am a casual player lol. Like I play to have fun and I do most games, so in my mind I'm winning them

How is that different to DbD a month ago?
2 -
most of red ranks rushing gens, camp and tunnel... with no mmr.... thats your medicine...

I always do this. Gen slowdown is boring imo because it just makes me more stressed
0 -
Thank you thank you very much😎

Yeah gen tapping is a tactic that I cant believe exists...well maybe I can. A developer said clown and trapper aren't low tier they are just played wrong🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1 -
I wouldn't put it past them to see it that way 🤣 how do we nerf the top tier killers it's less work than fixing the other gameplay problems?
1 -
Since the devs haven´t explained the win conditions, i wouldn´t be surprised if they say "you got 4 hooks during the whole match. Thats a win!"
1 -
Now all players can feel it🤔 less camping more tunneling
0 -
I personally have not camped or tunneled since MMR was released. I am doing just fine playing for 12 hooks. I win most lose some. I can admit when I lost it was mostly my fault which quite a few (being nice with that) could never admit when they make mistakes. Easier to blame MMR, the killer, survivors, perks, maps, gen speeds, RNG, a bush, etc.
0 -
I'm still playing low tier GF. Some matches feel completly useless to play but it's just the character i like the most so i'll never not play him.
0 -
A killer who fails to kill 🤣 yeah must be a pg horror movie...depending on your sbmm this seems to be how you gauge a win now.
Played trapper main yesterday (rank 6 sbmm equivalent)and yup 4 stacks of bbq to show for the game🤣

Pick one, you guys. Either everyone doesn't like it or some do and some don't. I'm getting a mixed message here from the community.

Survivors = happy
Killers = not happy
2 -
Survivor gameplay is better for solos and killers are adapting so in reality sbmm is both good and bad
0 -
I know, I'm just being a #########.
0 -
This should be enough. After all, Trapper is a representation of DbD.

A killer mistake is more impactful (chase goes on longer) denied a hook because of flashlight save, walk to the wrong generator on a long map, etc. than most survivor mistakes.
I mean it is 4 vs 1.
0 -
???
Everyone knows this. it's a 1 vs 4 so ofc the killers mistakes can have more of an impact. That being said there are 4 survivors that can make mistakes where as the killer just has to worry about there own. I seen seen a single survivor end the game for all countless times as I am sure most have. I would much rather depend on myself then 3 others.

Apology I misread your quote😅
0 -
He is only good for 4 stacks of bbq🤣
0 -
Carry on🤣

Are you though?

I mean, you make it sound like MMR is making these type of killers more potent, when it’s been that way for a long time.
Anyone can Camp and Tunnel for instance, it’s a matter of player choice not bound to a specific killer.
1 -
Its a matter of balance. A killer who loses 3 gens in the first chase, will be more inclined to camp and tunnel.
3 -
Lol sure because every killer who loses 3 gens has balance problems. Nothing to do with their own mistakes AT ALL.
1 -
I play casually and have had extremely fun matches as killer. I don't tunnel, camp, slug or NOED. I do run gen slowdown perks but with SBMMR, I think I don't really need to use them. People don't realize that the more they tunnel, camp, slug and NOED, the more they have to tunnel, camp, slug and NOED which is not fun for anyone. Play the game for fun, the more fun you have with the game. Play the game for sweat, the more sweaty the game becomes.
SBMMR punishes sweaty players and rewards people who play for fun.
2 -
All good. No worries.
