Devotion match making

Mach making is all over the place. I accept this. Seeing the ranks is still irritating though I expect it. I think Everyone Devotion 3 and beyond should be in one lump for games. If you’ve played long enough to get here you should be aware enough of how the game works and it’s clear your somewhat dedicated to the game. Everyone before Devotion 3 or even 2 should be together. For obvious reasons. Still have ranks for each side just for the new unlocks. As of now and for as far as I remember rank match making is a myth

Are you yourself a low devotion or?

  • People would just make smurfs.

People can smurf any MatchMaking. But you don't even need to Smurf, just have a mixed MMR SWF and you get a killer that might be better than some players but definetly not better than the other, so it's a matter of coordination and forcing the killer to chase the higher MMR survivors and let the lower ones do gens and totems. it's not rocket science.

Time played based MatchMaking doesn't work because the more time you have the harder it gets to find matches. Plus time isn't an exact measure of skill. Different people with different skill learn at different times, meaning someone very skilled can reach further faster than someone else and if someone has less skill they're most likely to need more time and experience so there's an inconsistancy with Time based matchmaking. Also there's still multiple ways to exploit it, first of all SWF's can mix their Time played to get get weaker killers than the top player/s with Time in the game. Then there's smurfing, then there's the usual learning process for newly released killers vs survivors being just skins and their gameplay being always the same. There's manny scenarios that make any sort of matchmaking inaccurate.

I have been playing for almost 5 years and have watched the game even before it launched on steam. Most of my playtime happened BEFORE devotion or levels were a thing. In the past 3 years, I only played to get to devotion 2, but I don't think that means I am a bad player in any way, shape or form.

The queue times already skyrocketed for high mmr. This would not help, at all.

Thought I'd add I agree with the others. This isn't a good idea at all.

I'm currently devotion 11, nearly 12 and would of been higher if not for taking breaks but devotion is not the answer to matchmaking.

Here's an idea, give sbmm more time.

I’m Devotion 12 lvl 93. Silver 4 killer though I’m a vet player. This morning I was just with 2 lvl 1s and a 2. The previous game had red ranks. Matchmaking doesn’t work at all

Are you sure about how the grades work? I only ask because I'm not sure that having a silver IV grade means what you think it means. I have heard that killers are seeing matchmaking whipsaw between (apparently), low-experience survivors and (also apparently), high experience survivors.

I have no clue how this grade matchmaking works. Because it’s all over when I see player levels. This is NO different before the rank/grade changes. I’m not up to the skill level as the majority of super loopers I have played today.

Skill level is irrelevant. By Devotion 3 you know how to play well enough. I wouldn’t say anything if true matchmaking wasn’t a myth

I feel like Devotion matchmaking pretty much exists the way these levels are all over. Again off set ranks are annoying to see
