Is there reason why the game keeps running worse and worse?
Are The Devs are just milking the game on last gen consoles? I am not sure how the game started to get progressively worse and worse after each update.
The game ran completely fine before the Resident Evil chapter dropped, what happened? Seriously. Playing majority of the killers is atrocious and not a fun experience. No wonder there is a killer shortage.
We always get the same answer of, “we are aware and working on it”. What happened to this game?

To answer your question, with minimal bias, yes.
- New Content
- The Realm Beyond - Graphic Overhauls
- Hardware... wear.
- Potentially unoptimized/inefficient coding.

Seems kinda sad tbh. Back then it looked like the Devs actually cared about the game and were passionate about it. I loved watching the streams they had where they answered community questions. Crazy how now content is cut and we barely have events.
Now it seems that they are money hungry.

The game is very poorly optimized. Its quite clearly so because a ps4 can run games like TLOU2 without much trouble but DBD turns your ps4 into a jet engine.

Well, i don't really know since i only started playing this game in May, but i still think they care about the game but their priorities aren't ideal. They are still looking into performance issues, they have been saying in the developer updates. But at the end of the day they have many platforms to support and want to keep people playing with new content.

Short answer; Spaghetti Code
Long Answer; There are so many variables that need to be taken into account for a game like Dead By Daylight and it was built on a pretty poor foundation. All the perk interactions, powers, add-ons, map generation, and other factors get jumbled together and make it so one little change can cause 25 other unintended bugs. Adding new content compiles these issues and doesn't make it much easier.

Got too comfortable.
No competition (F13).
Too much new content, not enough testing.

They kinda fixed dead hard. Other freezes are still there for me.
Can't play some killers which I would like especially Myers.
But there is a bigger problem now on ps4, overheating in menu/lobbies. I am scared to play much because of it.

How many things have they changed because of how the code works? Tinkerer and Moonlight Offerings jump out to me. Not to mention we have all the Slightly, Moderately, Tremendously, and all those rough number calculations. I think it's simply because they don't know ######### the code is going to do when it interacts with something. So they just give us approximate words for things because at least that way they can say "It just works."

How on earth are they milking consoles? All they're milking us consoles for are headaches and frustration of how much of this game we can't play. Dead Hard works again, Lithe is still bugged. There's still massive frame drops with Sloppy Butcher. We ain't milkin' gold I can tell you that.
I miss old old DBD though. Like, I've known of this game essentially since its release. I knew of it. I couldn't play it until some time ago then fell in love with it and was sad I missed out on so much already like old Doc, old old DS, etc. New DBD is a whole ######### show with its problems. But one thing we all can't deny, it can be fun. Can be. And when it's fun, it's really fun. Making a build work according to plan, playing a fun build as killer that's non meta and survivors actually not being salty about it. This game has turned into full on vicious competition versus one another that has killers making your game miserable because of a few little head on stuns, flashlight blindings (which I just got face camped by a Bubba low rank for blinding him at pallets... :/), I've seen some face camping and hitting on hook for Blast Mine. I've been face camped for my Sabo build I love doing so much, I like the feeling of being able to rescue someone especially if they're on death hook. All that makes it a 50/50 if you're gonna get camped because you dared tried to have a fun time or even survive.
Oh but I'm not biased. I play killer too. On the killer side, you can get salt just for doing your favorite build. For Hag, I love the slugging build of Knockout, Third Seal, Deerstalker, maybe Devour. I switch up 2 slots a lot but anyway, people get genuinely mad about it. A certain add on combo you want to try? Be prepared for epic salt. It never ends. [ Quick edit ]: I've seen salt from survivors of a killer not giving hatch either.
Seems like back in the old DBD days, people had FUN. Now it's just all about who can loop the killer the longest or scoring that 4k. It's such a fierce, ugly and hungry competition that just repeats its own cycle. I wish people would just have fun more instead of wanting the world record for longest time looping Bubba and Bubba slugging for the 4k at 4 gens. But to some people that is fun and that's exactly what I mean. Fun is subjective and its bred so much of what DBD is now.

Bad optimisation.
My GTX 1650 can run Shadow of the Tomb Raider better than Dead by Daylight.
And SotTR has like 10 times better graphics, and indefinetely bigger worlds loaded.
