New SBMM creates insanely sweaty matches
I played a lot of matches since the introduction of the new SBMM on both sides. Different killers where I have different skill level as well.
Matches on both sides are insanely sweaty. If I play survivor (on higher MMR from what I notice), the killers just tunnel and camp to get 2k in the end. What a fun match. I got more campers in the last 2 days than in the past 2 weeks (I play daily)! I am so frustrated that I just want to use DH or other meta perks again after I ditched it 2.5 years ago (I think it rewards bad plays and makes you greedy). Or use insane toolboxes/other strong stuff (keys) every match to counter the immense sweatyness of the killers.
Same goes for my Killer matches. I want to play a fair match, without tunneling/camping/slugging if it is not necessary or the smart thing to do (f.e. I would slug if people w flashlights always want to get the save). I want to play fair without getting bullied afterwards or being rewarded with one mere kill. I don't want to sweat with my best add-ons, 3 slow-down perks and a favourable map! I played an off-meta build on my 2nd Main Myers for a decent while now (can't tell new MMR for my Main Freddy since he's bugged and I won't tuch him until he's fixed) with Lethal Pursuer, Ruin, Discordance and Mindbreaker. That build worked (on high purple/red ranks) sufficiently for my taste. I got about 2k without sweating too hard. A fine match for a weaker killer with an off-meta build. But now? I played about 10-15 matches with him and match after match it got sweatier and sweatier. Suddenly I had to proxycamp even to have a chance to get ONE kill in the end! I don't want to do that! But I also want to be somewhat sucessful. What does it matter if I stay true and be fair? I get nothing for it but frustration, tbags and a black/de-pip. Because of that, I am considering putting another build on myers again I used over a year ago, so I somhow have any chance: Corrupt, Brutal/Bamboozle, Surge, Pop
This SBMM is changing the players playstyles and perk choices fundamentally! Which will end in a devil's circle of doom:
Killers get harder teams -> they use stronger perks/add-ons or more unfun tactics to get the same results -> Survivors counter with strong perks/items/add-ons -> repeat
I want BOTH SIDES to have fun in their matches! Not ...... Whatever this is.....

We agree.
Match haves become insanely unfun, where killers are bringing their best builds to increase their Elo.
I keep repeating myself : if you do a ranked matchmaking, you have to do an unranked matchmaking.

Best builds? Like what? Killers still use meta perks, before, and after SBMM.

If you play less than sweaty, your matches will hopefully become so

They didn't use top tier builds that often. You don't have to act like an entitled survivor main you know.
Now it's like 1 game over 2 with top tier add-ons and perks. Before it was more like 1/4.

I agree to disagree.

I think I played around 25 games since sbmm.
Killer can definitely be sweaty even with killers I am not really familar with enough. Less games where I completely demolish people in very short time unless they throw. It still happens tho but I think less.
Survivor is mixed bag. Sometimes I get cracked teammates who basically rarely do any mistakes but sometimes I get people messing around or making questionable plays. I think I get more reliable teammates than before tho but that always depended on the time of the day for me so I dunno.
It could all be a placebo except things being tougher on killer side.
I dunno man. I don't see anything too bad with it tho. It seems ok at least, for now. Some games are bad some are nice, like always.

Yes, but I encountered them not as often. And just because someone uses a meta build it doesn't mean that they are good. I recently encountered a full 2nd chance perk build survivor who was average at best, but they managed to make out of a 5min (they were super altruistic, what I used against them) into a 10min match.
Exactly. Of course some killers had (and still have) a higher chance of having such a build (Blight) but in general it was about 1/4.

It depends a lot. In my experience at least, I hadn't gotten that many "sweaty" matches. As Survivor in SoloQ, I get a plethora of people... sometimes I get really good and competent teammates others I get very bad teammates. In matters of Killers, I get paired, usually with Killers around my skill level with some ups and downs. I've gotten more than a couple matches with all meta-perks, add-ons which pretty much end up decimating my teammates and me, but I hadn't gotten my main complaint about MMR which was dealing Nurse, Blight, Oni or Spirit players that would slug everyone within 30 seconds. Despite the matches, even the "sweaty" matches, I've gotten to actually get to do something in most of my games which is what I wanted and am grateful for. Reiterating, I don't care if I survive or not, I just don't want to end matches with less than 5k of points.
As Killer, I'd like to first say I am by no means amazing, I keep getting varies skill levels too. Often very bad survivors teamed up with great Survivors, despite that I hadn't gotten any "SWFs Death Squads" either and I see it as an improvement because, again, I don't care about getting 4-kills every match, but the game feeling dynamic and me getting to be able to do something in most trials.
Just for the record, in the previous system, I was purple-red as Survivor and green as Killer.

Yeah, it's really not fun. Both survivor and killer is boring, a lot of tunneling and meta builds, etc. This game isn't built for 4 good survivors in one game, 4 Dead Hards, Iron Wills, and DS on something like Gas Heaven is basically unwinnable. On the flip side, Ruindying Tinkerer on Blight on Coal Tower against solos is unwinnable. SBMM was a bad idea from the start, since a game actually has to be balanced well first.
I predict a lot of people (myself included) will get quickly burnt out of playing matches like this. The game has become incredibly frustrating and queue times have gone up.
I hope they go back on this change, but we all know BHVR are piss poor at listening to feedback most of the time. I guess I might have to find another game for the time being.
