Pinhead is officially the worst killer
Every game today it just feels like every part of his kit is designed to punish HIM and not the survivors. Hit a successful chain? Well you had to stand still to hit it and the survivor just instantly broke all of them because a rock was nearby so they gained more distance. Teleport to a survivor solving the lament configuration? They were next to shack and looped you for 4 gens. I love pinhead and I love the concept of his power but he has been executed in such a poor manner it makes PIG look S tier. At least she can mind game with her ambush, what does he do?

No cause at least trapper actually can place a trap mid chase to make a survivor move to a different loop OR just pre setting one and getting lucky could get you a hook. Pinhead is just an M1 killer with a niche slowdown.

I suck playing as Pinhead, but I think he could be a decent killer if you really take the time to learn how to play him. He is not the worst killer in the game.

First, it is a bad idea to teleport to the box, they instantly solve it. Terrible mechanic that should be changed. Second, if you let them loop you around a shack for 4 gens, that is on you. If you don't know when to break off the chase, that is not the problem of the killer.
Not the worst killer, but definitely needs some tweaks to get out of mid tier.

Also when Nurse was nerfed and people were going Nurse is officially dead but it only separated the little boys from the Chad nurse players.

Yeah I’ve been playing him non stop since PTB. PTB pinhead was better than this and I’m not sure if it’s because his chains spawned differently (used to be 1 at a time not all at once) or if it’s because people just didn’t know counter play but he’s easily F tier. His chains are laughably useless as they break against everything and 9/10 act more as a detriment to Pinhead rather than the survivors. His teleportation is only solid against survivors who just blindly pick up and open the box (a good survivor opens it near a strong loop). Even playing against him yeah it’s fun but it’s also not very threatening. Even with impaling wire playing with and against it doesn’t feel very impactful. Trust me I’m VERY desperate to like this killer, I keep playing him and even when hitting every chain there’s just hardly anything this killer can genuinely do at 99% of loops.

Didn’t say this happened to me I’m just saying as an example of things that happen/are planned. Most of the time I know it’s a bad idea to teleport to the box unless I’m extremely desperate to find and down someone as usually if I do I’m already losing so I have to resort to being scummy. As I’ve said before I’m DESPERATE to find redeeming qualities about this killer but I am not finding any so far.

Hate it when people say "remember blight/twins at release?".
Twins and Blight were terrible at release.
Twins was literally broken and unplayable. A million viktor bugs. A million viktor counters. Literally none of her perks worked.
Blight, almost the same. You'd collide on every ######### thing from three foot away and when you actually wanted to collide on something, you'd slide right ######### past it. Issues with not being able to use his rush, his POV being lower than even hag's despite being tall as #########, etc.
Pinhead imo is ok. A bit on the weaker side. Games can last a long time because of the chain hunts but his chases can take a lot of time due to what was mentioned in OP. Use your power? Oh you were standing still while the survivor was running away. Hit your power? Oh, the chains are ######### broken in less than a second and now the survivor is even further away than before you used your power.

EXACTLY! I forgot how broken Blight was on launch. He’s only in a good spot now due to a litany of changes that I feel like are easily forgotten due to us all just adjusting. Spirit as well was a lot different at launch. Her phase had directional audio, she moved grass, basically survivors could track her but she couldn’t track them. I’m praying he gets the trickster treatment of a buff in the hot fix, a buff in the mid chapter, and a buff after that lol. He needs a lot of fixes that I feel like won’t come all at once but if they do then I’m happy because I already bought him and both his cosmetics.

He can turn many loops into unsafe ones with this too,
You need to learn when to use his power and when to teleport

Spirit and Blight at release were also called bad killers. I'd bet 10 bucks if Nurse was released today she'd be called trash tier. People are just used to the recent "press M2 to win" killers.

People were doing really well with Blight after his release, despite his POV. In fact, I think his collision got more bugged after a later patch down the line. Yet some people were still crying about him being so weak despite being really good.
You are obviously using Pinhead's power wrong if chains break in less than one second every time. You can choose where to place the gateway and where exactly to hit survivors. Of course, at loops this becomes harder but you can still try to hit them so it's harder for them to break chains on objects.

Funny how every killer who releases goes through the worst killer syndrome
You don't want to always teleport. It's much better to just interupt them and smack the box normally out of their hands or ignore them if they are to far away. The only time it's really worth is when you just hooked somebody.
Same thing with possesed chain. You don't want to spam it. The placement is also really important. you control where atleast one of the chains is. That one should never be broken by the enviroment.
Seems like you are trying to spam all of his powers without thought and hoping for the best. He's not bad, you just need to use his tools right.
That said he is far from the best ofcourse. but he is nowhere near the worst.

Are most of you guys who think he’s bad Killer mains? Maybe it’s the caliber of survivors you are going against? Because from my perspective he’s very deadly. I’ve only ran into TWO bad Pindheads since launch. Everyone else was good. Win or lose. They knew what they were doing with him. He also makes a lot of survivors ragequit. Between the Oblivious status effects and the chains, they get frustrated. The chains are good as is. They are no joke. Someone HAS to get to the box before the chain hunt begins, or everyone will be in serious trouble. The chains wont even let you solve the box in time. A good Pinhead will take advantage of this- down, hook, and teleport over.
These complaints about his chains remind me of the complaints about Nemesis’ zombies. Both are actually pretty good, but you as the killer don’t always see the value, because usually you’re in chase with only 1 survivor. Far from you- both are a hindrance to those trying to heal, work on totems or gens. Things would get done even FASTER without either (yes I know things still get done pretty fast).
From what I observed, the really good pinheads put pressure on all the survivors so that they are forced to neglect the box. Whenever I’m running around trying to multitask against him, I realize at the last second we are about to enter a chain hunt and now we are screwed. Hex totems, injured teammates with sloppy, ruin, being oblivious and more all cause chaos and can cause you to forget you now have a new mechanic to contend with.

I have been playing him crazily and I'll put him in the exact middle of killers.
1) Don't use your power on long loops that have vaults. It's pointless.
2) Any loop that has only pallets is entirely shut down by your power. If you play on the game, those super long, un-mindgamable loops become useless. Just land your power, and you have cut yourself maybe 40+ sceonds of chase.
3) If a survivor holds w, use your power, but try to place the gate as close as possible to the survivor and shoot asap. If you do this, you still gain far more distance that just holding w.
4) His best addons are the ones that increase the time it takes to do the lament configuration and his iri box. You can also get a lof of use from the sunglasses lens and throat piece or how it is called. By running addons that increase the time it takes to do the box, you increase your chances of reaching a ~30 meter range from the survivor opening the box. Try to get to them, and if you don't reach that place in time, use your power to cancel the solving.
5) You ABSOLUTELY want to walk to the survivor and not teleport. This way you get the box by chasing and downing the box wielder and force a chain hunt that will last a good time.
6) Use his power for patroling if you don't afford walking.
7) Use his power for cancelling last second actions.
8) Use his power if you don't want to deal with exaustion perks.
9) Just like with Nurse, avoid using your power when you don't have good line of sight or a good idea where the survivor is.

Played as him last night, found that hitting a survivor with chains while they are opening the gate doesn't cancel that action, dunno if that's a bug or intended, just keep opening then broke the chains

Fun fact: When Blight was released, I immediately became a Blight main due to the prevalence of predrop-and-W on AU servers and lost a grand total of my very first 2 trials. And then spent a few weeks murdering literally everything, to the point where I started playing him with bad builds and still kept winning.
Blight was not bad when he was released. He was one of the best killers in the game.

Stop calling every new killer the "worst killer".
You haven't played them enough yet, or found the right playstyle for them.
His chain hunt alone automatically makes him mid-tier AT LEAST.
How much higher he climbs will be determined by the bugs/issues with his main power they fix and how good people start getting at using his power in a chase.

The problem isn’t his power design, it’s that he is add on reliant, or feels like it.
To gain value from Summons of Pain it feels like you have to bring Engineer’s Fang every time because even when you are aiming correctly it feels like the survivors break out of the chains quick enough which considering how easy it is to dodge feels like it hinders him more than help him. You waste so much time just trying to bind them to a chain and for what? Just for them to break free by the time you get close enough.
It legit feels like a weaker version of Clown’s slow down bottles.

Why the hell are you lying. I was there for his launch and the amount of slipping and sliding his power had was inexcusable. Last thing we need is someone giving behavior copium for there god damn awful buggy killers releases. On average you would have 4-5 slip and slide incidents unless you actively knew which walls were pinballable and even then nothing short of a head on collision was going to a allow you to bounce of some surfaces. No its frankly unacceptable to excuse blight's power failing to perform as described and say well with trial and error you can figure out which walls/structures actually work.

The minute you know the basic counterplay of pick up the box whilst the killer is away and immediately solve it close to a vault or pallet the minute you have just wasted two killer perk slot's.

He doesn’t counter shack like AT ALL. His chains can easily be broken in shack due to them all spawning at once. All it takes is a survivor being semi close to a doorway and they’re all gone.

You stop dead in your track so they gain a little distance and any distance they gained is made up by breaking the chains or worst case they gain MORE distance because of how fast they broke them.
