Hey.

I just got this game. I don't have any teachable. The only dlc I have is Cenobite and Plague.

I can't get any kills except for 1 or 2 if I'm lucky. Its infuriating.

Any advice on a killer to focus on and how to deal with gen rushers?

If you've just started it may be a little rough for a while. With sbmm though it should start matching you with newer players too.

Take your time, remember your mistakes and you will slowly learn how to mindgame and how to loop survivors. Monitor their patterns on how they loop.

You are basically in the training phase if you are new and will take a while to start processing everything, especially if frustration takes hold.

Just play for fun and focus more on getting bp for perks rather than a 4k. Mostly, remember it's just a game. If it starts angering you too much turn it off for a while and come back later.

Leatherface first for bbq, hag for ruin, clown for pop. Bbq really helps getting bloodpoints, ruin and pop for slowdown. Best thing to do is look up a list of perks and see which ones you like. Beware there are some not very useful perks too lol.

Also don't try learning killers with their strongest addons as these won't always be available to you. I like trying to learn new killers with yellow, green add ons to begin with.

You can't really deal with gen rushers until you get certain perks that can delay them. You're gonna have to put in the time and get those perks but until then you can only rely on your skill as a killer.

Watch some youtubers like Nototzdarva. His 50 win streak videos is usually nice to get some notes on since he doesn't play with Add ons.

At low mmr, they basically refuse to do gens, I am really surprised you are running into this issue. Ideally you tunnel to counter their gen rush, at least without slowdown that is what you should do if you can't keep up.

Don't you come in here teaching new players bad manners. Telling him to tunnel will cause a band of mercenary survivors to lynch you lol.

If you just got the game, and are getting 1-2 kills per game, you are doing fine. Don't expect to have the constant 4k's like the twitch streamers you likely have been watching, they have been playing for years.

Tunneling and camper is the best idea.

Pssst survivors doing their objective isn't gen rushing - I say this as someone with just over 2000 hours as killer. Very few killers run into true gen rushers. Gen rush is just another overly used forum term that people like to throw around on the forums like toxic, death squad, etc.

Let them know you're not pleased with them by getting bubba and facecamping the hook. Chainsaw anyone who dares attempting to de-hook

Clown for Pop goes the weasel, not doctor. Hillybilly for tinkerer would be also good.

    This video could help: https://youtu.be/4RekOHmFzb4

Otzdarva has an entire playlist for new players with many detailed videos.

Not sure how I got that mixed up since I have been playing a lot of clown lol. Doctor for monitor and abuse then lol.

    Thanks for the correction.

    Fascinating.

Usually its survivors that struggle when a completely new killer is matched with completely new survivors. This seems to have shifted with the introduction of sbmm. I´m curious on how this evolves.

Best advice to get better as a killer I can give is play survivor.

As survivor, you get to understand how to avoid the killer, but then when you return as killer you'll also understand the survivor perspective and what to watch out for (hiding the red stain, guessing where would the go to heal, etc..).

Other than that, experiment and play to killer strengths. If you play as Trapper, don't go chasing survivors around the arena. Instead, set up about 4-5 gens and defend as your territory and play for a strong endgame. As Wraith, never chase survivors directly behind them. Arch towards them, so when they look behind they won't see you. As Plague, vomit on gens, vaults, anything they can touch and vomit in an arch when they try to dodge.

The more you experiment, the better you will get!

This game is very unnoobie friendly. Especially for killers, i'd advise playing survivor first until you can get some bp and a few perks.

Playing Killer with no decent perks or addons will make it hell for you.

I completely disagree. Killer was always way easier than survivor at rank20/low MMR
