To hell with your MMR

Ok, I've officially given up on this crappy game!

I have only 630 hours in DbD, yet as survivor I get constantly set up against killers with thousands of hours who stomp the entire team within minutes. On the other hand, as killer (doesn't matter if I have played a certain one or not), I'm getting survivors (most often 3-4man SWFs), who dominate me.

Learning from mistakes and wanting to get better is one thing, but if your stupid, broken system doesn't work and puts me up against opponents, who steamroll me, I'm out of here! I knew from the tests, that this MMR bs wouldn't work, but I really wanted to give it a chance, because I really like DbD in general.

But this? No thank you, I'd rather uninstall than constantly getting matches with MAYBE 10k BPs.

As sad as it is you have to play many games and the killer you get matched with also must have played many games since the SBMM was added to have been placed appropriately. You just have to power through and eventually the system will work as intended.

Only in this game do you have to endure god awful ######### to actually have fun. Enjoy your TTV's abusing MMR as an excuse to play like ######### and teammates that leave you to die despite Kindred with Open-handed.

Slippery meat is your friend for low mmah. Play as though you only have 2 health states and voila. Ez.

I hope they revert the sbmm since it is not good for the game

    Pretty much, yeah.

I don't understand how people expect the system to magically determine their skill and everyone else's skill in a short period of time and match them perfectly after only a few days. That is completely unrealistic. Everyone had to start from zero, so it will be rough for a while, that is to be expected.

That is not an excuse we are at almost a week in and I've play around 40 matches and I've lost about 90% because the survivors i face are way better and running full meta builds. On top of that its 10+ minute wait to just get stomped. I got like 3 matches with survivors that were way under my skill and then 37 with a group that I get 3 hooks in a good game. I don't think mmr is working.

That would assume that everyone has played the exact amount of matches as you against/with people of the exact same skill. It is not just about the number of games you have played. You can't expect the game to balance the game perfectly, in a week, with tens of thousands of players, all with varying amounts of games played, across numerous maps, with other players of varying skill levels skewing your numbers. A week is nothing. People have been bitching for years to get better matchmaking, but no one seems willing to let it gather enough information to do its job. The previous MMR system was a disaster. The problem I see is that the previous system was more an indicator of time played, rather than skill, so red rank survivors could still be potatoes, and it probably felt good beating them. Now you have to play against more skilled survivors. Ideally, as they beat you, they rise and you fall, and things will balance out. It just takes time.

But they have past data to go on. And real question what is a decent wait? A month of terrible lopsided games were i earn 10k bp and then wait 10 minutes to be put into the same situation. I've have lost the majority of my game but have only seen a lower caliber of survivor like 3 times.

They have limited past data to go on. They can't use anything from the previous MMR system. I imagine there are a lot of people that recently came back to the game for the new system, and/or the release of pinhead. A month is probably a good estimate, but I imagine that it will be getting progressively better over that time, not just bad the whole time then suddenly good.

"You have to power through and play a lot of games, we promise it'll totally even out eventually" is just not the ringing endorsement people seem to think it is, especially with BHVR's consistent lack of transparency and disregard for the health of the player base.

Their word, and the word of people believing them, just isn't worth much; nor is their judgement as to what 'evening out' will look like.

Here the problem im at the same point as the op. Before mmr I hit green ranks and the majority of the survivors I played against were purple and red so I was get stomped my player I shouldn't be playing against. Now with mmr all I've got is 4 survivors way better than me and I'm not playing against lower skilled survivors.

The old system was not based on skill, so red rank survivors could still be potatoes. It was a very basic system that had zero balance to it. The new system has to determine the skill of tens of thousands of players, and then try to figure out where you fit in with them. It will take some time to sort everyone out. I mean, we can't have 100% faith that the devs created a good system, but we do have to give it some time to work before condemning it.

The issue is, their last test before release didn't act like this version at all. From a majority of reports, it worked and the matches were fair. And they had tens-of-thousands of people on for that test as well. So, if that test worked well on the same live servers with damn near just as many live players, it should not be having so many issues now with MMR settings. It already worked, and worked well.

This version is acting just like the horrendous, original SBMM that they released in August 2020, and then quickly disabled for not working right.

The thing is 9/10 the purple and red rank survivors were better than me.

About the past data I play a game with plague who i played alot of and I'm pretty good with i would say like a 60-70% win rate and clown because the the challenges and the the skill was even higher then on less played killers like Myers and demo.

DBD just sucks for the solo player. Killer or survivor. The people having the most fun are 4 man SWF with decent players.

For awhile I was an MMR supporter because a lot of games I play have it...but this game just cant have it.

The people complaining seem to be the ones who thought they were so good cause they kept getting matched up with potatoes. Now they face true ranked opponents and lose. That's called gaming...it'll help you improve your game playing against better players. It's literally been a week and the new system hasn't been going long enough to be working perfectly yet. Quit crying and play the game or delete it. If you wanna play for fun, stick to solo player games, this is multiplayer and is meant to be a little competitive.
