The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

The killer my friends and I got matched up with had more hours than all of us combined.
I have friends who are really new to the game with like less than 100 hours (I have 1700) and we got matched with a rank 1 killer who had 2000+ hours... How does the game think that was fair in the slightest? Isn't it supposed to take the average of our ranks and not give us a killer with more than all of our experience combined.
The MMR tests were actually awesome for me but now that's it live it is just so rough...

I had a similar experience today, i was a killer (600hrs) and two of the survivors were on steam and one had 20 hours and the other 9.9. The other two were on console and one of them was a P3 laurie and the other was a nea with a store outfit. But that match was super unfair just because 2 of the survivors were inexperienced.

The system does not take playtime into consideration at all.

Very possible the guy was playing a killer he hasnt played that much

You heavily change what an average is when you play with your friends.
Think of the small blips as your friends and the giant peak as you, this also works in the reverse.
Also this is just a explanation of what could be happening.

SWF escape rate higher than soloQ player.
If you always escape ,your hidden points recognize worth powerful killer.

I know but the killer objectively had more experience than even me and I had way more experience than my friends.

Well we almost never escape anyway lol.

Are you sure? I have 4,9k hrs. Yesterday, I played Nurse for the first time in 4 years because I figured SBMM would be a great time to try her again. Wrong. Of the profiles I was able to check (most) no Survivor had less than 2,5k hrs, the majority was around my hour count and even some who had more. My Nurse mmr should be as low as it gets; I gave up when I got a full legacy lobby after like 10 devastating losses in a row. I´m not mad I got juiced but about the matchmaking.

Cool.
I regularly verse Survivors with ~200-~500 hours on my +2k-hours account.
0 -
Well then maybe your skill level is closer to those that have 200 - 500 hours. Or the MMR is broken.

Wasn't claiming i'm not of high skill, i'm telling the other person that i disagree that it's being taken into account.

Hm okay. Still, I can´t think of another reasonable explanation for my Nurse matchmaking lol, especially since I mainly play Survivor.

Matchmaking is based on mmr, not hours played. It was already stated, but you know, repetition will help drive the point home to others that seem to not understand the system they are complaining about.
0 -
You sure about that? Sounds like a big flaw if it doesnt, since 80% of "skill" in this game can be measured simply by playtime alone
1 -
Or the MM said "screw it" and tossed them the first available killer.
0 -
Well no one blames you for that, because no one but the devs know for certain how we get matched up.

Well okay: In reference to my last comment, it might take playtime into consideration.
I'll tag you too @FengisKawaii, because it might do that now.
But we just don't know.
I'M NOT CONTRADICTING MYSELF, OKAY?! I'M CORRECTING! 😅

All good lol :D You´re right of course, we don´t know. It´s just a hunch I have. Would be great if we had a little bit more info on the matchmaking.

I'm not sure if DbD has access to players' playcounts, and because i'm not sure of that i see them using that for matchmaking as unlikely.
But whatever, i don't know more and so i won't say more on this subject. 😅

Lol did I say that MMR was based off of play time? Play time and skill has a correlation and someone with 80 hours should not be matched with someone who has 2000 hours in any universe. Unless you're claiming that the person with 2000 hours either idled every single hour or is actually as good as someone with 80 (which they were not even close).

They just introduced an MMR system based on skill, a few days ago, so it has to calculate everyone's skill from scratch. The rank system is no longer used, so those ranks you see at the end are meaningless. They do not indicate the skill of the player, and have nothing to do with the new skill based MMR system. It is going to take time to level out.

The MMR is broken. Simple as. Even if we play as a 4 man, 2 of us have got almost no hours and the game still puts rank 1 killers who are insanely good. We get 1 gen done maybe 2 at best.
The MMR is awful at figuring out an average of whatever its measuring. Even before when it was done by rank the diffences between a rank 1 and a rank 4 even could be massive.
Having even one team mate who is not good makes going against a decent killer almost impossible.
