Auto stun need to be fix!!!!
This hitt valid bs needs to be fix I've had so many hit rejected where I'm clearly in the attack animation before they are in the pallet throw animation. I just had a match as the trapper where at least 5 hit got taken back where I was clearly swinging and the survivor runs back to the pallet gets that vacuum animation and I'm stunned? But they hit the pallet drop button first even know they had to manually run back a little bit while I was in the attack animation already.

The survivor stunning you reached the server first.

That makes no sense if they have to run back to the pallet when I'm in mind swing through the pallet?

That is what Behavior claims, anyway, but you know, it is pretty obvious something else is going on.

The reason for this is most likely because the survivor had better latency than you, so on the survivor's screen, you weren't as close as it looks on your screen. When they dropped the pallet, you were farther back and the server registered their pallet drop before your hit due to them having better latency. As the game should do for all hits. Reward the better internet, regardless of which side.
Right now, hits are still killer-sided in most scenarios, which shouldn't be the case anymore with servers. It should reward the player with better internet and the server determines what should and should not hit based on what hits the server first. This goes for both killer AND survivor. Currently, the game rewards bad internet and actually penalizes good internet (in most scenarios), which makes absolutely no sense and is completely unfair.

The game i played just the the Feng was abusing it and she knew she was as well. I don't think I've got one hit through a pallet since the hit validation, I mean hits where they messed up because I didn't respect the pallet this time. I need to get enduring on all my killers asap.

I'm running at like 16 ping so I really doubt that. I clearly watched run pass the pallet(because I had been respecting them) i swing she then turns and runs back a little and boom vacuums the rest of the distance and stun.

To back up my internet situation that penalizes a killer with good internet and survivor with bad internet, survivors can rubber band and make them much harder to hit because the server can't keep up with them properly, making ghost hits (ones that don't hit) or a wiff entirely because the survivor is much farther on their own screen.
If the servers actually prioritized the better latency, the killer would get the hit, regardless of what the survivor sees, which is completely fair due to them having better internet.
This also combats VPNing, which is an extreme issue currently because it gives an innate advantage due to higher latency and how the game rewards what the player sees instead of what the server sees first.

Yeah, ever since the hit validation change, I have become obsessed with brutal and enduring. Maybe a fire up if they don't have flashlights. It is ridiculously satisfying. I am not sure I ever want to go back to other builds. Lol.
Well, maybe if they fix this and respecting pallets becomes valid again.

It's still entirely possible to hit people through pallets...

But I have great internet. I does some times get crazy and I wonder if it a vpner. For the most part I have no internet problems on most games.

The game will never be perfect on what should hit and what shouldn't, sadly. If you have really low latency, you probably just got screwed over, sadly. It happens A LOT. Not even my suggestion for server hits would completely fix that either. :\ It would just help reduce these scenarios.
One specific situation I will always remember is when I dropped a pallet on a Nurse right after she blinked, I got the stun and she still hit me facing 180 away from my character... at the other side of the pallet... We both discussed it and talked about how it was BS. It just happens sometimes.
Sorry about that, though. I know how frustrating that can be. Also, my apologies for the other response. I saw your notification pop up right before I posted my comment, so it was in regards to before your response.

I'm almost convinced that they simply added iframes to pallet throws like with dead hard. I've seen survivors take a hit on my screen, HEARD them get hit, then stunned by a pallet and they took no damage.
I have sub 40 ping basically every game. There's no explanation besides iframes

You ever get AoE stunned like where you have to move forward to brake it. Its only happened like 3 times its pretty rare?
0 -
Yeah... that's the BIGGEST issue with this game... it rewards bad internet. I've never heard of a game doing that before. There is "favor the shooter", which the server tries to determine what should hit based upon what the person on the screen sees, but not blatant disregard for good internet and actually giving you a straight up DISADVANTAGE for it. It's stupid and Behavior reallllyyyyyyy needs to fix it.

My last game made me honestly wonder the same like I had my weapon on her a few time before the pallet stun even got the scream and blood twice.

But ill gave games where everything is running as it should except for pallet so are pallets causing a latency issue then?

Like the teleporting survivor. Or my favor i made the vault and I'm running and I got hit?
Alot of weird happens.

It isn't that it is "completely survivor-sided". It is whatever the server detects happened first. This is actually neutral-sided, which is how the entire game should be. The server determines all actions, which it only does for pallets and grabs atm (even though they didn't actually fix grabs. They just ensure you hit them at the very least). Get rid of bad internet giving an advantage as much as possible. Let the server determine what happens, not what the killer or survivor sees.

I am well aware of this. In the clip I was making fun of the people who say it's "completely survivor sided" because I literally hit her and got the down...

To be fair I don't see to many survivor I play mid camp pallets they run to the other side or pass for the loop.

I'm honestly not entirely sure. Their servers in the US specifically are TERRIBLE. All players will rubber band backwards, have huge lag spikes, just tons of issues constantly. What most likely happened that match could also be that the survivor was closer to the server you guys were on, making their actions reach the server faster? That or you just had a bad server, which is probably more likely with how much they suck... lmao
EU actually has so much more acceptable servers, as they're much closer to all players since EU is much smaller, allowing faster server determinations to happen properly, unlike US. Idk where you live, but if it is the US, I just chalk it up to terrible servers. LOL

It could be dbd is definitely the game I see the most server issues from. Thats bs though and it behaviors and need to fix there servers. Killer is already a unpopular role and behavior make it worse with stuff like that.

Actually, there is. Read this post by @Mercês to explain why.

So if I swing and then they throw the pallet since I would get stunned it will just cancel the hit out right? If I'm swinging and you throw a pallet my arm should just stop all momentum.
0 -
No. If the server registers the hit before the stun, you get the hit then you get stunned. If the server registers the stun before the hit, you do not get the hit.
1 -
I've seen this type of hit from both perspective. On the killer side it looks like a hit and the sound is played. On the survivor side the stun happens before the killer can swing.
Its all about perspective. Players need to learn they are seeing other players positions in the past and tightly timed actions won't always turn out the way you think it should. This includes being hit thru windows or a hatchet that hits far away from you.

What they need to change about that is the killer no longer sees or hears the sound of the person being hit. Not entirely sure if there is a way to do that (and they would break the whole game doing it, let's be real), but it needs to be changed on the killer side.

How come I've never thrown a pallet but seen it get rejected. Like I throw it and get downed but the killer really hit me first so the pallet didn't get thrown?
0 -
To do such a thing means the client must wait for server confirmation. This would add a delay to all hits (the client doesn't know if a stun is coming) which would give jarring feedback to the killer.
