Making everyone rank 20 again was a bad idea
It feels like playing rank 1 each game you either get someone casual or full meta build with 8k hours on just killer.

It's not rank anymore, it's grade and has no effect on matchmaking apparently

Gives me a little something to work towards.
Til I get multiple games with hackers then I peace out.

I don't know how I feel about the sbmm. Some killers it feels fine then I get thrown against a sweat squad and barely get 1k. Then there are times when I play a killer I never use and I get treated like I'm using my main.

thats the inherent problem. Top tier killers going against top tier survivors will mean that people stay at the rank they are at or go up and down. Assuming proper matchmaking.
MMR being independent of rank SHOULD mean that no one gains rank.

Just a little heads up.
Ranks or grades or whatever (same S different name) doesn't mean anything now anymore.
You have sbmm behind all that which determines with who you get paired and against how good of a killer you go.
The better you play, the more difficult killers you face and the better survivors you get paired with.

You gain rank by pipping. It is not really a rank system, you cannot even derank.

So what does making everyone rank 20 have to do with it lol. It's grade, it doesn't matter what you are since it has nothing to do with any survivors skill for matchmaking

I just died 5 games in a row, and got put against an ash 2, devout 12 ( he was a ttv ) killer
All this matchmaking has done is make queue times longer, its as ######### as ever.

doesnt seem to work, i dont get killers on my level i get killers over my level each game, usually i lose like once or twice in a row but now its like 6 times

There's no rank anymore, dude. That is grade

That's how it's supposed to work, but it's a crock. I don't play killer much, but I decided to go ahead and give the SBMM a shot last night, and I've never sweated more than I have before in this game. I had no business going up against that caliber of survivors. It was horrible.

Again, grades mean absolute nothing anymore.
You will only be match determined by your mmr/sbmm, so you could even be match against a rank/grade 1 iridescent killer while being a grad 4 ash survivor.
The only thing is that bhvr has decided to hide the mmr/sbmm score, so there is no telling if your score is higher or lower than the people you play with and against.
Personally i would love to see MY own MMR score, I don't care that much about the others.
I just want to push mine as high as possible, and yes i do know my games become more sweaty the higher i get

There is no rank - there are grades which have nothing to do with matchmaking. No one gains rank because rank is no longer in the game. Your SBMM score changes each match depending on how you do. What you gain are grades - which you cannot lose no matter how many matches you do poorly in. There is nothing to indicate "rank" anymore plain and simple.

Unless bhvr decide to make the score for the player self public, we have unfortunately nothing to go by.
It could be that the killer you played as last night, has had many wins in the past.
They have collected data for months and months now before the made sbmm live.
Each killer has their own mmr so it differ from killer to killer.
All i wish was that they made the mmr public to the player itself

Or you just aren't that good at killer - which if that's the case - your sbmm will recalculate over time and you will face survivors more to your skill level. No offense but maybe you were "boosted" previously as killer when you faced survivors - there are a lot of survivors who were boosted to higher ranks and were going against lower rank killers when they had no business doing so. The current SBMM is going off your matches back when there were ranks and let's face it - it was not the best at pairing people based on skill since rank did not ever indicate skill.

That's how mmr works, you can get matched with killers that just are better than you and also that are weaker than you.
If you lose to a killer that is weaker than you, then you lose a lot of mmr and he gain more, and visa versa.
The reason you lost a couple of times now could just mean that you got a few killers that were maybe lower than you, but were just climbing the mmr ladder and on skill level should be higher than you but might not have played them much

Grade or rank, it's basically the same thing.
The only difference now is that the "grade system" is not used as matchmaking.
Other than that it's the same, they just wanted to give it a fancy name.

Thats what they want you to think.

Except they are not even remotely the same thing.
Rank was used for matchmaking - grades are not. So - not the same at all.

Maybe you should read just a tiny bit further 😉
I said grades aren't used for matchmaking.
But other than that it's just the same.
You still pip just like ranks and you still have brown, purple, red etc ranks

Except not really... You can't lose a grade - you could lose rank. Even their colors are different and their numbering are different.

🤣 Sure if you want to be the one that is right, then by all means 😂
I'm not gonna debate on whether or not it's the same or not based on tiny difference's. ✌️
