Last second switch
So, why not change the lobby to allow last second adjustments. Let´s say 15 seconds before the match starts, the survivors can see which killer they face and adjust 1 perk for that killer.
And the killer can see 2 perks on survivors, which he chose beforehand. For example, if he says he wants to see if survivors have DS and SB, he would see those survivors highlighted (but can not see which other perks they have, or if they have both perks or only one)
This would reduce our beloved last second switches and ragequits at the start of the match.
What do you think?

You ean, kind of a pre-lock thing ?

The survivors are not meant to know which killer they face, so the survivors should not be getting any amount of information about the killer until the match has started. The killer is suppose to know which survivors and which items are being brought.
So the only thing that needs to be done is something to prevent the survivor last-second item switch that sometimes happens.

I think it's a good thing that there is switch. Be prepared for the worse and be better at the game.
If they did pick up 3 flash light, 80% of killers would have dodge ;p
Not a big deal.

No one should be able to see the other players.7

I don't like the part about seeing perks, but I wouldn't mind to see survivors getting locked 5 seconds earlier. I mean, most of the time "toxic" survivors are switching to a flashlight. Now, flashlights aren't that strong anymore as they used to be. So personally don't mind to see 4 flashlights, I can deal with that easily.
At the same time, last second switchers are giving me a valid reason to tunnel the ######### out of them lol1 -

No because the only reason survivors do that is to keep from getting dodged it’s sad that killers can’t play against items majority of the time and just flat out leave if any flashlights enter the lobby , why are people like this even playing if they can’t handle intended features?I can only speak for my own actions, but I never dodge regardless of which items survivors bring. If a killer was so intent on not being there when a flashlight is brought, what is stopping them from disconnecting immediately?

I've always said it's should be a 10-15 second lockout timer after which no swapping is allowed so that gives the killer 5-10 seconds depending on which timer is used to choose.
The survivors get locked in and can't last second swap to brighter clothes/ all P3, items etc the killer has time to adjust if they need to. This way lobby dodging by killers because someone on the survivor side want so be cheesy is reduced.
Lobby times go smoother, everyone knows there's no hanky panky going to happen games start=profit.

But it'll INcrease lobby dodges, as people get confirmation other people run things they don't want to encounter.

Pretty much this, yup.
Killer who tends to lobbydodge: "ok, looks like they are solo players now, let's ready up... Wait, 2 flashlights? LEAVE.
When i'm playing with friends and we are lucky enough to not get dodged killer usually equips an ebony mori instead, i find it hilarious 😂2 -

And what about the ones who simply just leave for any item? You don’t find that cheesy? , I don’t blame them a bit when you’ve been dodged 10 times in a row and that’s the only way to get a game and bring an item if that’s what you want, I’m just pointing out that if a survivor wants to bring an intended item into the game they can’t majority of the time so that’s the only way they can truly get use out of the items they spent bloodpoints for unless you punish the lobby dodgers, the killer shouldn’t be allowed to dictate who they face or what type of game they are about to have by cherry picking noobs with low trophies and no items.

The change could reduce that.

I understand that since killers say they don't like when survivors switch and want them to join with items in hand yet dodge the instant they see said items. But this way there'd be no excuses that something was last second switch.
If they start adding lobby queue timers for excessive dodging that would stop the lobby dodging for items since you can plainly see what items and toons are there and adjust accordingly with plenty of time.
Now before killers whine about it, you queued up knowing you might get 4 flashlights or 4 tool boxes etc and you have ways to counter that.
You can choose the most optimal killer and perks/addons and offering for each lobby you see, Franklins, Enduring, Iron Grasp, Sloppy Butcher, Mori's, UP etc etc etc.

I agree.
It is stupid and it actually affects gameplay. Allow me to equip franklin's or whatever I need or want to in order to fight your flashlights, toolboxes, medkits etc. I also tend to not play hag if the survivors have more than 1 flashlight.
It is one of the most scummy things in this game and should be solved.

At the same time, last second switchers are giving me a valid reason to tunnel the ######### out of them lolYea but have you ever taken into account those people want to just play a game with items and have fun? Sure you may be a good killer and don’t mind the 4 flashlights and that’s awesome I wish everyone was that way but a lot of those people start to last second switch after they’ve tried multiple times to bring the item in normally and get dodged , we need time bans for lobby dodging and then we can talk about locking survivors in for 15 seconds earlier than the killer, so the killer can adjust accordingly
Easy fix for both of these problems would be that when there is 20 seconds left on the timer, survivors can no longer switch their loadouts and players can no longer disconnect from the lobby. The killer can for the last 15 seconds switch their perks but not addons or offerings. If they killer or survivor leave the lobby their items, addons and offerings are consumed. This will prevent killers from dodging a lobby but a chance for them to pick perks to counter the survivors items.

I decide on a build that I want to play and play it regardless of SWF, items, or offerings. Guess I look to have fun more than needing to roflstomp every game.
1 -
I'd rather they just lock survivor builds at 45 seconds and let the killer adjust up until the last second. The timer should go all the way to 0 before locking out the killer.
Knowing the killer before the game starts will just make people dodge. Plus, knowing that and just getting to change 1 perk is MASSIVE. Everyone would run Calm Spirit against every single Doc they face. UE against every Hag. Spine Chill/Prem against every Freddy/Wraith/Pig/Myers.
0 -
I don't really mind.
They'll be swiftly camped/tunneled out of my game once found, afterwards normal gameplay will resume.
I usually run FD as of late, so it usually just results in them forfeiting their items, fun, and blood points.

Whats worse. Lobby dodging or in game disconnects?

You lose mere seconds in a lobby dodge. But you can lose the whole match, if someone disconnects during that match.

The fix is simple, if the survivors switch with less than 10 seconds remaining then the timer goes back up to 20 seconds to give the killer time to adjust.
At the moment its just one more thing in tje game which lets survivors be toxic.0 -

No.
Once you get out of Rank 15 kid you'll understand why.

To play Devil's advocate, I can see that causing a lot of dodging on both sides. Don't like the nurse? Dodge. Don't like hillbilly? Dodge. Don't like DS? Dodge. And in the end, there's not a whole lot you can do there anyway. Even if you don't like to play against the nurse you can't just put on your nurse-stopper perk. DS won't go away because you swapped a perk.
At the same time, it would make it possible to hard counter a lot of things. If you're playing the wraith, you're going to have a wild time getting lightburned the whole match. Or if you play trapper, have fun with the saboteurs. Or any stealth killers for that matter, there goes that first surprise attack. Everyone's expecting it.
Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I can see it doing more harm than good.2 -
The problem is the players, both sides will dodge what they don't like instead of just playing the game.
To simplify it remove survivors profiles and names from the lobby, lock survivors in at 15 seconds and each time a change is made before this it adds 15 seconds to the lobby.
Once the lobby is under 30 seconds if anyone leaves for a reason other than ping being x amount which includes erratic spikes then either side gets a time out strating at 1 min and increases the more they do it, dodge too much and you get locked out of playing that side for 2 matches which you must play till the end so dcing would not count.
It's not meant to be a punishment just something to deter both sides from cherry picking matches.0 -

I can easily see this being a problem for Doctor. All of the Survivors will just equip Calm Spirit the moment they see him.0

Doctor will be destroyed by calm spirit.
Pig will be destroyed by sprint burst.
Wraith will be destroyed by sprint burst.
Nurse will be destroyed by stealth perks.
Spirit will be destroyed by iron will.Survivors should not be able to see the killers that they are facing.
Killers should not be able to see survivors's cosmetics and names. They should be able to see only survivors in their base clothes with their items. They also shouldn't be able to see their steam profile etc.
Game should be locked in 15 seconds for survivors, 5 seconds for killers, allowing killer to adjust his/her perk even if a last second switch happens.0 -
Last second switch = full "toxic" mode enabled
Most survivors dont enjoy these kind of games, so I never understand why they do that. But they get what they ask for, I dont care

Alternatively, you could just ready up and play the match, regardless of what the survivors do.
There's plenty of tactics & perks you can run, survivors have to run what they can regardless of the killer & killers simply can't run all the perks to counter everything, that's the point.
Pick builds that work to your strengths or boost things you're bad at. If you're too lazy to hover on a survivor for a second to bait out the flashlight user then run Lightborn, if you'd rather they didn't use those items at all, run franklins.
You shouldn't be able to counter absolutely everything each side can do or the games would be very boring, deal with the deck you are handed.
I can see why survivors do last second switch, while I can't confirm that's why the dodged there's been far too many instances of lobbies being closed as I equip a med kit or tool box, flashlights too.
If killers didn't dodge as many lobbies as they do (or used too, it doesn't happen nearly as often as it used too) then survivors wouldn't have to last second switch.
