Anyone else think pig is long overdue for a buff?
When she was first released she was one of a kind in terms of her crouch ability. But ever since the release of ghostface I can't help but feel her crouch is incredibly outdated. Sure, she can dash out of her crouch, but in most situations and tiles her dash is nearly useless.
There's so many small changes they can make to the pig that would make her so much better to play. Something as small as increasing dash speed, reducing time it takes to crouch and uncrouch, increasing speed while crouched, giving her a few seconds of undetectable when uncrouching like Wraith.
Pig has one of the weakest anti loop in the game, and I think they can easily make her more reliable in chase without drastically changing her kit. As far as bear traps go all I can suggest for that is bringing back endgame piggy.
Pig's been neglected for a long time and I think she needs some love to pull her out of low/mid tier. What're your thoughts?

Yeah pig needs some love. But if they are going to change her we should hope for something decent not like they did with clown.

I would increase her speed slightly when crouched and increase the base jigsaw boxes by 1.
I absolutely love her ambush dash - it is great at shutting down loops.
I would disallow any escapes with a RBT on your head; whether active or not - through the exit gates and hatch.

The rbt used to explode in the gate if it was active or not but they removed it bc reasons I guess. I just want that feature back bc endgame pig used to be so much fun and so reliable but not op.

Agree. Pig should have her trap rgn normalized, her crouch/uncrouch speed increased, her movement speed while crouched increased, and an add-on pass that replaces Tampered Timer (and possibly the add-ons that increase trap search time) and that gives more modifiers that change her ambush in fun ways (i.e. longer ambush duration, breaking pallets with ambush, hitting a survivor who has an inactive trap activates the trap, etc.).
I'd also love a buff/add-on that allows her to grab out of crouch.

That's another way her crouch is outdated compared to ghostface. He can grab out of crouch but she can't for some reason.

I'd vote in favor of a rework. Pig's ambush is only useful around unsafe pallets, because if you could ambush a survivor on a generator you'd just walk up and grab them. RNG head traps have always tilted me, but if they could make that one out of a few possible traps in her kits so it's not so bothersome if she puts multiple traps on your head in one trial.
Why not a trap that attaches to your spine when you get pulled off the hook? Why not a trap that shackles your arms to a generator? Why not a trap that attaches to your pelvis if you vault a certain window?
There's a lot of SAW inspirations for all of those.

She definitely has one of the most outdated designs. Trapper is the only one that is worse, in my opinion.

Yeah but you can escape through hatch - which I don't think should be allowed. Doesn't make sense you can't leave through the gate but you can the hatch.

Because Traps are meant to be used during the game for Slowdown and not during the Endgame to get Kills with EGC.
An active Trap will kill you all the time. What they changed was that an inactive Trap will not kill you anymore when leaving with it.

She does not need much. Most of it is just an Add On-Overhaul, removing Stuff like Tampered Timer and Add-Ons which dont really work anymore (like increasing Skill Check Odds, they removed the combo with Lullaby already years ago, even before they made it only affect Healing and Repair). But some Add-Ons which improve her Crouch and Dash would be very nice.
If they want to do something about the RNG, Otz had an idea long ago - each Trap has a fixed value of searches, 1, 2, 3 or 4 and one each. So one Trap will need 1 search only, another will need 4 searches guaranteed. And this would be random, so a Pig who used 4 Traps will have a guaranteed Slowdown of 10 Box-Searches, the RNG would just be for the Survivor, which Trap they got.

Make her crouch speed faster, not instant like GF but at least twice as fast as she has now.
Also smaller terror radius makes perfect sense.
Dunno about traps, they can be really good or really bad, too much RNG and maps reliant

That would be ideal. She deserves a better teabag and the old terror radius should have never been nerfed. Those two changes and I would stop squealing like a stuck pig.

I would take away those addons that gives status effects to trapped survivors
That's why she's known for tunneling trapped survivors... her addons are the reason (that and her power being RNG and survivor dependent)
If I were to make changes it would be:
1) active traps show one Box that's far away (give it to her as an addon or basekit)... but not to show any with inactive traps
2) add more addons for crouching... while making it faster to crouch basekil
3) add back to synergy to Huntress Lullaby... and/or making the skillchecks on the boxes harder
4) either make the Boxes activate and deactivate for a period of time when a gen is done or make it harder to search after like 30 seconds of a gen being done
I do like adding another box as basekit... since there're 5 gens that need to be done why not have 5 Boxes but 4 traps
5) add another trap that interacts with gens... like the Shotgun Collar... If a survivor has one on they get a warning for being within a certain radius of a gen (cause the whole point of the RBT is to get them off and not do gens... IMO)

Yeah. With SBMM it's kinda stupid. You could have 4 survivors take 4 boxes to get their trap off, or everyone could get their trap of on the first box.

She needs a major rework imo. Her traps are rng reliant and add ons can make them kill survivors if they get unlucky. Her ambush is useless without add ons and mediocre with them and her stealth is the worst of the stealth killers

Yes, but they do explode if active still. Not like it all was taken away. You can see the reason though, EGC has a limited time. Placing a trap on a survivors head would pretty much kill them without any further effort.

Problem with Pig is, she has some really cheesy builds that inflate her kill rate and would be even more obnoxious if she was buffed. Run Tampered Timer, Rules Set No 2 and an RCPD offering and you can guarantee head pops (and a lot of post-game salt). Or even the Face Mask on a map like RCPD or Lery’s or Midwich can get you some easy second state hooks without even needing to camp, as long as you know you’re not facing a 4 man.
There’s also the fact that she has built-in slowdown which makes her much more deadly at lower ranks where survivors don’t know how to loop.
So I do think she will be touched at some point, but it can’t be easy for the devs to decide what to do with her when according to stats she has a decent kill rate and they probably don’t want to just give her a flat buff. Hopefully MMR will show that while she’s strong against less experienced survivors, she performs much worse against survivors who know how to deal with her, and they can balance that somehow.

I'd say no killer is ovredue to a buff until match making is finally working for every rank, and not matching me with 4600 hours against 90 hours nurse or with 32 hours mates. When we at some point in hopefully near future we have games with people of same skill level, we could actually rate properly if killers perform good or bad...

If you're saying we should wait for fair balanced matchmaking before reworking pig then I guess it's never gonna happen.
And what does bad matchmaking have anything to do with reworking the pig? I don't really think those 2 things cancel each other out.

It is not possible to rate the strength of a killer if you match them up with survivors of different skill. Match them vs too low and you get 4k, match them vs too high and survivors escape. But the result has nothing to do with the strength of the killer. If you think pig is too weak, you probably just go against survivors above your level. But no one knows if this is the case as MMR so far, at least for me and all my mates, is not even close to well working.
Like every 5th match feels like it matches, all other matches run mostly ez for one side. I main Demo and have matches like getting totally stomped with 3 hooks max or 5 gens left because survivors keep running into me or have super bad pathing. And this is not helping me in telling if I played well or bad, it just tells me that they were not my level. I can't learn from those being faaaar above me and I can't learn from lemmings. You need close matches to figure out where you made your mistakes and to find out if the killer just doesn't have the tools at some point anymore or if you need to improve

There's either a killer that does the same thing but better or their kit has something that was more meaningful back then.
On the case of Pig, she was released during a time everybody was complaining about gen rush, and the only gen slowdown perks that existed at the time were Ruin (which was weaker than the current one) and Thanatophobia, so her traps came in handy. Now we have tons of gen slowdown perks so her traps are basically obsolete, everything now about killers is mobility and chase potential, and she lacks both.

The lead balance designer, in his words, believes that the community's consensus on Pig's strength being low is a misconception and that she is "not weak" as she performs very well statistically. You're not likely to see buffs come to her unless SBMM has negatively affected her kill rate statistics.

I imagine she's more popular at lower ranks against weaker survivors. I highly doubt pig is performing well in high skill games.

Yeah Pig needs a rework or buffs. Start with lowering her TR with 4-6 meters that would help with her stealth so you can use Whispers without needing Monitor for them to not detect you.

There are quite a few killers out there that are ridiculous with Pig (But would be even better with another killer). Mix that with trash survivors every where and guess what stats look good. I legit had a Meg go down yesterday via Mend.....Like ######### does that?
