Another patch and the removal of his voice lines has still not been addressed.

Players will not allow this to be swept under the rug with vague doublespeak

Anyone else in the community have an opinion?

As much as id like them 2. It might not be up to bhvr. I'm assuming it's a liscensing issue.

    We don't know anything.

Could it be the stupid memes and they got tired of it? Maybe.

Could it be the actual license holders got over the stupid memes? Maybe. In which case, they literally can't say anything about it or they could get sued.

Sorry, that's how this ######### works. BHVR don't have to tell us anything, I don't know why people act like they do. It's #########, but that's capitalism and legality.

The problem I have and I'm curious of others is the excuse that was given for the removal of the voice lines. They make 0 sense and are not consistent with how things work/possible solutions. With the way the game pulls assets a simple encoding issue can be easily fixed in 5 min.

The "we are not allowed to comment on this from the mods" makes the situation worse.

They profited off the hype of the meme then removed it before launch after many had purchased the DLC. Not reading the patch notes is not a good excuse from the people who say they were tricked. At the same time not telling your consumers why you are making changes or just flat out lying is not good from a developer or marketing perspective. It erodes trust and encourages people to not buy your DLC

I dont care if they change the lines all together when they bring them back, but I don't like being lied to.

Yes it is capitalism, if you lose trust from your client base and there are plenty of other legitimate reasons why this is happening with this "product", you start to lose consumers. This one is a simple fix, tell us what is happening (even after you fix it).

"BHVR doesnt have to tell us anything". In capitalism that's not true. They have to tell us what we demand to know given a large enough population care to know that it effect their bottom line. Its whatever the market will bear. That's the true double edged sword of capitalism.

BHVR has the monopoly on asymmetric horror games. They know this- Which is why they continue to ######### up. As long as this is the case, they don't have to worry about consumerism. You really think the last few chapters would come out in the state they did if they cared about consumers?

They don't have to tell us because not enough people care. As proven by DeadByBoycott. This forum alone has a very small percentile of the player-base. Unless the majority shows people care about the voicelines, BHVR has to say nothing. If they even can say anything.

"Unless the majority shows people care about the voicelines"

Ya that was exactly my latter point. I believe their are many who do who aren't as vocal that need to be.

Not after 02/2022, but well see how that ends up

    Enough people may not care.

As for your other comment about the monopoly, well, I doubt it. I'm very pessimistic when it comes to stuff like that. There have been many options for competition. They all failed.

DbD could certainly use the competition, but that doesn't matter if the general public doesn't hook onto another game like they have DbD.
