Are there times when swfs are more or least likely to be on?

I've never gotten passed green rank in the old ranking system as killer and in this new one I never got passed ash and even in that I just about always get bully swf squads as killer, I know they're swfs by the way they work together and their perks like they all either have sprint burst, dead hard, descisive and borrowed time almost always one has a flash light and always manage to get me at a spot where I can't face a wall. The one with a flashlight is just about always following me around but at a safe distance or they stay near where they can loop or near pallets. Just about anytime I go after anyone else but the one or two loopers they're hidden so well I can never find them, they have to be on comms or something. I've never seen people play this organized when I play as a solo survivor, in solo I rarely even see anyone run borrowed time.

Why do I just about always get paired with people like this, even when i'm trying out a new killer I have never played before or only played once or twice, I always get these squads and it makes me never want to play again, it's really no fun to play against people who are so skilled that I can't even hit them or find them. There is also always at least one or two red ranks in their group even today there was always at least one red rank in the group. I usually play late at night central time, should I avoid playing late at night, should I play during the day or around 8pm or 9pm? I've heard some people say your least likely to encounter swfs at in the morning like around 6am or 8am.

I'm not a sweaty kind of player either I just want to be casual and play around. I'm not trying to be iridiscent or red rank I just want to stick to playing against people my level. In the old ranking system when I did face green ranks I usually did pretty well or at least broke even by getting two kills.

So first question I have in response to your question: do you have crossplay on? (on by default so if you aren't sure then it's on). Having it on drastically widens your search pool and makes running into SWFs less likely.

Second - assuming crossplay is on, do you see people with either all globes, or all non-globes? And do they come into the lobby all at once or do they trickle in? The odds of SWF go down if there's a mix, and are impossible if there's too long of a delay between them joining.

I'm asking these questions because you're likely not facing full stack SWFs as often as you think you are - instead, your MMR is way too high. At high levels of play, even solo survivors coordinate well and instinctively know how to react when things happen. If you were winning all of or most of your games prior to MMR coming in, your MMR is likely extremely high (this is a problem for those who played sporadically from what I've seen, it overestimated them since they were consistently at low ranks getting other lower ranked players.) Unfortunately, the "fix" to this is to just accept losing for a while and supposedly it'll get better over time.

That being said, late at night in EST tends to be one of the sweatier periods, I generally try to stop playing by around 10 PM since after that it gets a lot less fun, so your survivor pool is likely being overfilled by the sweat squads even if your MMR isn't inflated.

Only answering the main topic question.

Share of SWFs across all ranks spikes in the evening times (about 8-10pm local time as long as your TZ features its own server), and daytime/evenings on weekends. Mornings and working hours usually provide you with 4x solos or worst case 2+1+1 - everybody's either working or studying.

  • Yes I have crossplay on and yes I usually do try to just play against console players for the most part because they're usually less likely to be swfs but I still run into some console players that are swfs. I know console means globes. They're usually all in the lobby at once, it's rare that I see people trickle in. Sometimes it's a mix of consoles and pcs. I've gotten to purple rank as survivor and i'm gold rank now as a survivor and It's really rare that I see survivors play as coordinated as the ones that I face as killer. I'm sure at the red ranks they play differently but like I said I shouldn't be facing survivors that are that skilled especially on killers that i've either never played or only played once or twice.

I guess I could see how MMR might have overestimated me, if I have to lose alot for it to get my accurate MMR that's pretty annoying.

Thanks I'll try not to play late as killer to see if that helps me find people around my level.

One thing to bear in mind is that console SWFs are ALWAYS on comms. It is built in. It takes extra effort on PC because you have to arrange third party utils to chat. On console you just press a button.

Ah yes the extra effort of pressing the dedicated discord chat button on pc. Very hard setup.

Sorry I didn't know that EVERY PC player has a discord account, has it installed, knows how to use it and can instantly talk to a random player in a lobby who on the same platform.

I know you're going in for the biting sarcasm, but what you said is actually more realistic than you believe. Discord doesn't even require an install as you can just use it in browser. Us pc players be sliding into random discord chats more often that we slide in to twitter dms.

I feel like Survive with Friends wouldn't be such a huge burden if they actually let friends get together and earn Bloodpoints in their matches. Friends have no incentive other than practice to get into private matches with anybody. They need to offer private groups the option of getting Bloodpoints same as the rest of us. Even if it's at a much lesser rate due to the overwhelming likelihood that players would just allow each other to farm them in said matches. Maybe offer other benefits. Like unlocks, rewards or bonuses that can only be earned in private matches? Nothing to do with Bloodpoints. Exclude them. Seems like a dead end idea because you can just go and die with three of your buddies but God forbid you get anything out of helping a friend learn how to play killer...
